Ah now watering with a hose is different! I've had one who did that and she'd also carry on if she couldn't get to the hose But wet grass after rain is another story here.

Cavaliers should be happy friendly little dogs. They are fun to train and many have done well in obedience, agility, dancing and tracking. I must say it is a bit of a trait that they'd rather not get their feet wet but apart from that not a problem. I trialled my old girl and she had her CD and one pass in CDX before we had to stop trialing due to her health. I've dabbled a bit with training Jersey (the girl in my signature) but basically I am quite lazy now and haven't done much with her. A couple of girls I bred have done very well at agility and have many titles.

<I lost count the many times I bathed one twin twice thinking it was the other LOL what a mad house :-) > You did give me a laugh! Good grief I can only imagine what I'd have been like if I'd had twins

It makes no difference to the dogs if they are related or not when they are bought months or years apart. With Labradors I would be thinking years apart would be preferable

What breed are you looking at? I think that makes a big difference. I have sold siblings in Cavalier litters that have worked out well. And why do you want two and how much work do you want to put in?

What Would You Expect/do In This Situation
Gretel replied to Topoftheheap's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've had several pups have great patellas at their first check up and then go on to develop problems It is so disappointing. These pups were checked by a very experienced and well thought of vet. -

I'm on the FB page. Do you want me to post about it? -
Well I've just come in to say I will not come back to this thread cause I've placed my order now and I don't want to read about anything else I should have bought!
-
Oh dear I shouldn't come in here and see more ideas. My order is getting biggggger!

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Best Diet.
Gretel replied to samanthamy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I don't think Cavaliers need anything special about their diet. I feed raw necks, wings, carcasses, offal, eggs, BARF patties, good dry food. The same diet I'd feed any dog. -
Usually twice a day. I never mind it when I get home from work either - I find it quite relaxing too
-
Oh yes there are many Charlies out there in Cavalier world I think if I had to choose one from that list it would be Caddy.

Awww how lovely is that?! :D

What Do You Do With Your Dogs When You Go Away?
Gretel replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
My daughter moves in and looks after them :D I don't book anything until I clear it with her! -
As a breeder I have found it stressful enough putting a baby puppy on a plane to someone I've not met. No way would I be sending your mum a pup

I bought a Kuranda one and it's great Not cheap but Vienna was killing everything else!

Can What A Dog Eats Help Repel Ticks
Gretel replied to sheena's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I used to look after a golden retriever who had sulphur added to her food every day to repel ticks. I don't know if it helped or not but obviously her owners thought it did. -
From a breeders point of view I want the dog back to either rehome or be sure of where it's going. I'd hate to think one of my 'babies' was passed from pillar to post. Over the years I've had one back to rehome and helped with rehousing another. I am lucky that Cavaliers are such an easy breed to take back and/or rehouse. With many breeds it could be quite difficult for a breeder to take an older dog back.
-
<I am waiting on the breeders details so that I can contact and confirm this for myself and then I will take the next step. I just didn't know if it would be likely that the breeder would be so blase. > Well there are breeders and then there are breeders..... Decent breeders want to know if something like this happens and many will take the dogs back or at least help out finding a new home.

There are lots of Cavaliers in obedience and agility. I used to trial my girl. She got her CD and one pass in open (beating a top trialler at that time) and winning the ring. We stopped trialling though due to health issues.
