Yes as the others have said he should be fine and Cavaliers can certainly be left longer than 30 minutes. He is used to being crated so if you are unsure about leaving him in the yard or house while you are not there he would be fine crated. Give him something to chew and a comfy bed and leave a radio on for some company. :) And you will need to come into the Cavalier thread :D

Glad they found a lovely pup :)

Some excellent ideas :D

Leave a radio on for him for a bit of background noise and company :)

My wire crates are being used by a friend so can't measure them but the plastic crate that suits an adult Cav is a PP40 so check the measurement of that one to compare.
-
I wouln't recommend a soft crate for car travel. A PP40 plastic crate will still fit an adult or a wire one. You'll get more responses in the other Cavalier thread in the breed sub forum.

It's been a few years since I've gone to buy one but I was a bit surprised that they no longer have the cheaper PP40s and 20s at Petbarn. They have the ones now with a different lock and they are much dearer. Are the others still available?

What breed?

She has such a pretty face! :D

They shouldn't do anything with her in Sydney. The crate should remain closed with cable ties. She will be fine. Pups seem to cope well with flying though I know we stress until we hear all is well and they have arrived safely! How exciting for you :)

Best Brush To Remove Hair From A King Charles Cav
Gretel replied to Rosiesmum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
No I like Coat King for an adult coat on a Cav that needs thinning a bit. I bought a Furminator years ago and didn't like it so gave it to me daughter for her cat. Yes you can buy rubber mitts at pet shops and cheapie shops. They are cheap. :) -
Best Brush To Remove Hair From A King Charles Cav

RM please call her by the correct name. :) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is probably losing puppy coat at the moment but Cavaliers do shed quite a lot. I don't like using Furminators on them as they tend to cut the coat. A rubber mitt is very useful for getting coat out and they usually like the feeling of a bit of a massage with it. You can also use the mitt on the carpet to pick up hair. -
Hi Sibella, You will find that the other thread has a bit more activity than this one. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/164335-the-ckcs-photo-and-chat-thread/page__st__25350 That one owner you have spoken to who has lost all their dogs by 4 must have been very unlucky I've had the breed for over 30 years. At the moment I have Ingrid who is turning 11 in December and is heart clear, her daughter, Lacey nearly 8, Bree 6 and Jersey 3. None are on any meds and are all very well. :)

Congratulations!

Glad all went well with your litter MM :D So nice when it goes smoothly!

Jersey had her pups today. The first little fella was breach and Jersey just did not push so he took too long to come out and we lost him. I decided I wasn't hanging about to see what happened with the next one so threw Jersey and all our stuff in the car and headed to the vets. She did an ultrasound and said their heart rates were too low for her liking so Jersey was on the operating table pretty quickly. We have two girls and one boy and Jersey is being a very good first time mum despite her ordeal. They are all good weights and seem strong so fingers crossed they all thrive.

So cute! :D

I had Jersey out to the vet this morning. She has a stricture so not sure if she will whelp naturally or not. This is my first experience with one. It has relaxed a little more than it was on Monday so I'm hoping all goes well. I must say it is adding to my usual pre whelping stress!! The vet wants me to keep a close eye on her and ring her tomorrow to let her know if there is any change.

My Cavaliers (and Lapphund) have been on it for over a year and I'm happy with it :)
