At your local stockfeeders you can buy some horse non chew spray ( its used to stop horses chewing their balnkets) I used this a while back when I had big dogs, one of the horse people on DOL may be able to give you a brand name, sorry my memory fails me !! All the best

My husband has had the snore operation, where they remove part of the upper palate ( shorten it) he was in incredible pain for weeks, whenever he drank the fluid would come out his nose through the hole that was made by the operation( this happened till the palate healed) He stated he would never go through with it again or anything similar, and he has a high pain threshold!!

http://www.workingdogmagazine.com/index.php There is an article in this Mag that may be worthwhile in reading!! I have also read ( Dog forum somewhere) that if a Vet issues a certificate for their use ( ie to reduce back/neck injury) then there use is permitted. -
Cant recall the cost but remember the injections worked well on a Labrador and then he had tabs that were ongoing till he retired from a working role.

Vaccinating Puppies At 6 Weeks
Wazzat Xolo replied to Zorro_007's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have meds that I can give by injection, but some meds are hard to obtain ( for me anyway ) Ivomectin I give intramuscular and I am by no way a vet!! I think ( personally) the drugs are the hard part to get. -
Vaccinating Puppies At 6 Weeks
Wazzat Xolo replied to Zorro_007's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You seem to have had problems in finding decent vets! Both my vets do very thorough checks on I can get litters vaccinated at $20 a pup, adult dogs are at $25 C4 and $25 C5, this is registered breeders rates ( Canine Association ), which I assume you are charged? If you are not a reg breeder may pay to become one and get the vheaper rate, I do not vaccinate till 8 weeks and the puppies do not go to new families till 10 weeks, I offer another vacc at 12 weeks free of charge if they all come back to the vet together!! Ask your vet and shop around for a better deal -
What I shared here was not something I just made up and thought was right. It was mainly what I had seen. I wasn't going to mention it but here it is lemme talk about one of the experiences I have had: Nike Thanks for sharing, I really can see that just in the few weeks or so you are learning and listening also sharing experiences, this is all good and called networking where all can learn from each other. Trust me NOBODY knows everything about dogs and nobody ever will as they are a constant source of amazement and learning for us humans. There is a great book called The Dogs Mind by Bruce Fogel, I think you would enjoy it, try your library. Glad you are staying on the DOL and learning, it will make you a better owner and a better ambassador for the plight of dogs in general

[ Oh good glad you are both back andon the right track!! Its a horrible thing to watch and we as humans do get upset and this in turn can upset the dog, my CC had fits on and off for approx 12 months, then he seemed to stop and ( touch wood) has not had one for a year now!! Sounds a bit strange I know but my vet did some chiroprator work on him and this is what seemed to ease it????? Good luck with your fellow -
Individual schools are all different, if you have permission then you can use a school. I am sure for a Dog Event like this a school would give permission especially in school holidays.

Obsessive Compulsive Dogs
Wazzat Xolo replied to Roxy Lady's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Turn Neds ball obsession into a postive for you!! Easy trainability, narcotic/bomb/manwork and alert dogs are selected for their retreive drive, as its such an easy factor to train with and channel into work. Good luck with Ned -
