I am so sorry to hear this, sympathy to your friend, and people ask WHY I dont breed!!

Congrats Swayd, Shimmer seems just a pup yesterday, how time flies, looks beautiful as always Congrats to all the other new arrivals too.

Sway was also looking into who was intersted a few weeks back. On my facebook site there is a group RayJax Show & Pet Supplies they qouted on one for me ( well dogs!!) recently as well.

hairless breeds .......breeding coateds into a hairless line WILL improve the dentition! A hairless mouth is known for the missing teeth, thats what the genetic genie produces, if a coated dog is introduced all coated should have full dentition, hairless will remain the same with missing dentition..

Rare breeds are generally easy to find handlers, we have a great lot of Juniors who handle the dogs ( Xoloitzcuintle) and I have some adults who handle, but I do find the Juniors really enjoy a chance at a rare breed, my only stipulation to handle my dogs is that you are NOT a face!! I give the handlers what they win, but would glady pay for the services if needed. I feel a bit humbled when people thank me for letting them handle the dogs ( they are doing me a HUGE favour) I think most do it for the love.

I was all set to get a Fibre glass box but my hubby wanted a box that could be broke in two, for storage, I realise this may be a cleaning problem. any ideas

Thank you Swayd, you will make a young lady ( not me!!lolol) very happy if Xolos can get there! Hopefully the Xolo's can make it, don't forget to get in contact with Jo and work on some info to help promote the breed. I called her the other day and mentioned that we would like to come, she was going to email me some recc stay areas that took the dogs. Hoping to get some info next week, luckily I only have to go the Friday and Sat, as we are on close to the group.

I spoke to Jo who is change of the dog section she said they would be on - Friday Sept 14, 2012 Judge Mr J Juslin (Finland) She says because they have not been entered before they would had not been listed (they do this with many rare breeds) Jo did say if you were coming give her a call 08 8210 5211 as they like to promote the rare breeds (would like to prepare in advance) Jo sounded really excited about the Xolo's coming to the show. SWAY you are awseome thank you so much, just a metter of logisitics to get there and find a place that takes dogs and me ! lol

the best one said to me is ITS GOT NO HAIR " Oh really, well I wonder where it went ?"

I have emailed the show society a few times for a date for the Xoloitzcuintle, but sadly noone has got back to me. Shame, was looking forward to sending a dog there! Oh well Sydney again looks good!

There is NO short explanation, the name always takes three goes, then its minutes explaining the breed in very short detail !!

I could stretch to Koolie/Kelpie cross for the brindle boy, but really don't want to list Dingo as part of the breed mix on the chip database - do you think we could be safe listing them as ACD/Kelpie? Prospective new owners would be appraised of the Dingo possibility in their genetics. They are the sweetest pups, very friendly and playful. Whoever "bred" and raised them to this stage didn't neglect them socially... which is always a bonus... it certainly makes my job as a foster carer much easier when we get well adjusted pups into care... *grin* T. the Dingo breed appears on the ANKC register of dogs in the numerically reg breeds database.

lolololol TRY sitting under a BREED sign and a 6ft high banner and a smaller SIGN especially made and they still go "Whats that!" My friends lost their voices over the three days we were there, but well worth it for all the lovely people we got to meet, even the pound lady who took some information, "in case one escaped and came to her pound in NSW!" I advised her be a long run from WA but NSW but she was kind enough to say "You never know" and she is very right!

I had a rescue group a while back trying to convince me they had picked up a xoloitzcuintle, I tried everything to explain it no doubt wasnt ( IT WASNT!!) but they were very hard to convince, it was a dog with a bad case of mange, the teeth were normal which was not a hairless breed in the hairless sense, and besides the fact no other xolos are here in Aus ( I wish there were!) With all the cross matings these days one must feel for the rescue people at times.

Sorry for your loss, I do hope you advised the vet ( either in writing or at the time) of your non happiness with the treatment. I hope you never have a sick animal again ( now that would be nice for all of us) but in this day and age we are obligated by morals and even laws that is an animal is suffering or in distress it must recive adequate veterinary care, I am sure you will find a vet in your area that if needed can be attended. Everyone has legal obligations, whether you are a Dog owner, cat owner rubbish truck driver, school teacher, prisoner, thats just human life I am afraid. Anyhow good luck with your new dog. oops sorry didnt see it was a joke type thread or a person with a problem, anyhow we still all have legal obligations ( I am sure someone will help you very soon lol)
