  1. I dont think its a cse of cross bred or pure bred I believe its a case of there may be NO DOGS or CATS as our society becomes more urbanised the limited opportunities for contact and ownership of pets is becoming less and less. people are moving to apartments and units thus not all can have a dog/cat etc. The amount of dog walkers and dog day care centres that are booming due to the fact people want the pets but dont always have the time for them. i think the way urbanisation is going is more of a question than breed. JMHO With the budgets of most becoming more and more tight, the poor old dog is usually one of the first to suffer, as in vet visits every three years, lower quality food and eventually no money for the dog and surrender to shelters. I would like to know the stats now for dog surrenders to years ago when things were not so tight! Also there will be a lot more unhappy people as we all know pets are therapy in so many ways. I am not applying this to all just an overall view ( I know DOLers would feed Fido long before themselves!) if only the whole world was full of DOLers!! )
  2. I posted the link previously just scroll back
  3. I am afraid that this may not be the first time this sicko has done this Last November 2 pet staffies went missing from Bargara and were found at Burnett Heads (all costal communities surrounding Bundaberg, as is Moore Park where the Dogues went missing from). The staffies were found alive but were so severely beaten that the female had to be PTS. The treating vet said that the females injuries were consistent with sexual abuse They haven't caught the person scum who did that so I am wondering if this latest attack on pet dogs could be the same person. The following link appeared in the local newspaper back in November last year. http://www.news-mail.com.au/story/2009/11/...age-these-dogs/ What absolute ( insert a word here) There is a facebook page for the dog that was sexually abused, my thoughts are with the family.
  4. Sure is something else going on, in the 911 call it states the mother has locked herself in the room, I mean why ? away from help ? Probably why 16 year olds are not responsible to have babies mostly.
  5. Congratulations what a great story and all from a rescue, there the stories we love to hear.

  9. My breeder forwarded this very intersting link on to me. Amazing ways that dogs have contributed to medicine Ten ways dogs have helped
  10. I cant sleep so was curious! I found this link Bat cave ! Thanks for that, I still can't sleep and the bats are still there. Dog is now under my feet as I type, so he's safe for the time being. It looks like getting rid of the fruit is a good idea as it would have the saliva on it, I just checked the dog, no scratches or bites, so far so good. I would also worry about the ferment of the fruit, in the dogs guts, could be like that movie Beautiful People ? where all the animals got drunk lol

  12. Although I do recommend Studio Noah because their shots are fantastic but very expensive and we got them half price, when I was setting up my website I asked them if I could use two of the photo's that I had purchased on my site, despite 3 emails and 3 phone calls noone got back to me, I was quite happy for them to say no but I was hoping to get some sort of a response, plus I was going to purchase a gift voucher from them for a grand opening prize draw so they missed out! That's very disappointing about the book especially when it cost that much, they should have fixed it for goodwill if nothing else! Thanks for the reply, I know Jan and Brenda at Studio Noah and yes they do take great photos, I am after a photographer that will allow the use of these photos in publications etc, I have emailed some "well known" show photographers here in the West but obviously they have too much work to reply to emails. I shall keep trying, cant be that hard! lol maybe it could be as I always get Nacas backside more than his head!
  13. George at Swan valley vets is very switched on if there has been any "mischief" I am certain George will get to the bottom of it! He shoots straight from the hip!
  14. here is the 911 call, the mother was 16 years old and the father 20, I cannot understand much of the 911 call, its an odd call, the gent calling sounds muffled. Visit My Website
  15. Congratulations, great shot. what a wonderful win for anyone and one of the DOLERS!! makes it very special!
  16. Hmm, Petbarn is listed but neither of the stores near me are on there...Im sure Ive seen EP in at least one of them, surely they would also carry the Holistic Select range if they have EP Yes if they have the EP they have the Holistic Select here in WA. Masons Mum ( Your name was mentioned today! lol) as in your beautiful chocolate lab, Rach mentioned them. Anyhow back to topic if you email lexie at Eagle Pack (Now Williams Group ) tell her you are a WA fan ( lexie is from here) she can tell you where the particular food is you need as in stockist, they love feedback and the love the DOL people as they always give feedback which makes for a better product for all. [email protected] :D
