There are breeders with tact and those without, each to his own, but its no wonder some people think all Dog People who are "breeders" are snobs! I prefer to err on the side of caution and perhaps educate the people up front rather than put them off side from the start, always can do that down the track lol Cross bred is a term I prefer, but I can appreciate some people find the need to use the word mongrel! ( its in their vocab!!) -

A puppy Farmer in my eyes is ANY breeder (whether registered or not) who produces puppies with NO breeding program, Very scant care and attention to puppy placement, Poor/Nil health testing and poor/nil socialisation programs. No follow up after care from the breeder. After all if you are not breeding to better the breed ( which would generally include breeding a puppy for oneself WHY breed? :D

How Do U Report Them If U Dont Know Where They Live?
Wazzat Xolo replied to stef_83's topic in General Dog Discussion
Its important to report this too as if you incur\ vet costs as a reasult of this person and even your pants if they were torn you may be able to seek compenastion either through the rangers or civil court! Good luck J -

How Do U Report Them If U Dont Know Where They Live?
Wazzat Xolo replied to stef_83's topic in General Dog Discussion
Make notes and times, days, dates, what the gent was wearing, carrying ( ie walking stick, paper) any identifying features of the man dog, any other people with him, particular routes etc, any vehicles he may use, anything that you can think of, there is no such thing as too much information. If you have heard the man speak his accent, facial hair, height etc!! etc Anything what has happened in the past and all the info you can think of. What rangers do is network with other depts and collate the info in their databases, everyone who cant be bothered reporting even the smallest of things are really doing a dis service to the community,as all info is logged and can be cross referenced in cases like this ( I am talking about Councils who have GOOD practice which these days I would hope was most!) Also if you can get a photo on your phone that would help too certainly does as evidence in off lead cases! Good luck Dont just leave it like some people do and say WHATS the point, that irks me so much WHY bother posting I say If they cant be bothered acting upon it ? -
forgive me everyone for using the circumcision ie foreskin as an example in what some cultures feel is right and wrong, the topic has made a turn in the other direction! J

Good point Cisovar, also what our so called civilised society does to chickens in farms and horses in some steeple chase events. Some societies even chemically burn horses flesh to gait them, but I bet whatever society you look at they have flaws!! J Try and google Tenesee Walking horse ot these brave fellows The Cowboys

Sounds good. Anyone have a book about tracking they want to sell also? (And save me an order from book depository!) I can give you the little booklet they gave us at Tracking. What else do you need? Thats about it! I already have a dog that loves to put his nose to the ground and snuffle along. So now I need to learn! Wazzat this thread: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=185342 has pics of tracking harnesses. Mine is like the style 2 one I can bring it to the show on July 3rd if you like ? J
-
Crazy Cresties the kennels are not heated and even the ones they call indoors are in fact not really indoors they are just back to back with a walkway between. my two came over in July Aug and they needed double coats, and I also sent a spare set as they are such messy dogs. I have just rehomed a British Bulldog to a lady coming over in a few weeks from Bournemouth, she is also getting a Crested when she gets her, bringing her Sphynx cat too. It will be nice to have a few more Cresteds in the show ring here as there are still so few, although more than when I was showing, but still not a lot. Dogs are all looking wonderful, you will probably find you will need sun coats here as I have found mine didnt adapt tpo the sun at all. J
