Wendy Isnt your daughter in law the President of the South West Animal Rescue Group ?? J -
My goals for 2011 are very simple but important to me and the breed. Hopefully get Xolos out to three states to be shown in and I have some more coming over next year to help with the breed establishment. EDUCATE stubborn people that the dogs are XOLOITZCUINTLE and not Mexican Hairless!! Continue to attend and educate the General Public on the breed at as many community events and shows as we can. Do three Royals next year! In a few years time we will hopefully be recognised enough to get in with the big kids and collect some fringies!!

Puppy "laundering" Or Stolen Puppies?
Wazzat Xolo replied to sunshiine's topic in General Dog Discussion
This is my beef with some groups down here its all "she'll be right mate" There needs to be a code of ethics or at least conduct so all groups operate under the same rules to stop any negativity on either side. I have had that many disagreements on the sub standard practice of certain groups that I have given up! My Head hurts really until their is across the board monitoring not much can be done because ( down here) most want to save EVERY animal and thats NOT possible. J -
wow again Strauss has certainly grown quickly, he is adorable and I bet already better trained than my two! its been years since I had any puppies, I have forgotten how quick the grow. J

Either way it has once again highlighted the rescues in the South West need more training! This is not a stand a lone case, a lot of experienced animal people have tried to help but the term used was Maybe now they will get some training in their dealings! -
Approx Cost Of Removing A Male Dogs Wholeness
Wazzat Xolo replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
sorry just have to say I spat my coffee everywhere over your title wholeness! lol -
any dog can get Parvo (even the vaccsones) but they have less risk same goes with the antibodies. Its just keep an eye out and wash hands etc after touching other dogs, its an airborne virus so only way to stop in is to stay home and never venture out! We cant do that so being vigilant is the next best thing, its there and has been for years, if we are vigilant thats the best for everyones sake.

Puppy "laundering" Or Stolen Puppies?

Having been involved with the SW rescue groups I totally understand, there unfortuantely is a lot of trust with these lovely people and they can at best only take peoples word! Unfortunatley they are not trained in mnay rescue aspects and situtaions like above continue to happen, if its SAFE I would be contactinmg the founder Sue Hedley, she would love to hear and is passionate about any problems that may arise, the other group SWAR you may PM me. Dogs under Aus law are classed as chattels and therefore can be leaglly stolen and prosecutions/charges followed up, the proof and the availability is the hard part! Good luck -
Everyone that was at the Royal keep an eye on your dogs as a friends dog has just come down with Parvo, a "runour" going round is a person had some Parvo pups that died a week before yet still eneterd all their dogs at the show, which I hope is not true as thats just downright bloody disgraceful and against canine and ethics rules. Just a word of warning to all that were there. j

I thought the same thing. What was written was positively phobic. Despite all the excrement deposited on the ground by farming & native animals and bird life... that person singled out pet dogs. Do some head-counting of the total for the former, and you'd be occupied for quite a few eternities. So, even statistically, dogs would hardly register on the person's feared scale of excrement spilling into water-courses. Which was going on long before dogs were kept as pets. I'm sure dinosaurs didn't wear nappies! I'd bet there's a tendency to be phobic at the bottom (apt word, there) of that 'case'. He is right in the chemicals etc that are now found in wormers, foods etc that have gradually increased as man has become more "civilised! I had a study on this somewhere, as I too did not understand how dog excretia could be harmful.

what he states is very correct but I do not like his comment about the educated people and choice of no pet, he could have worded his arguement in such a way that would not cause outrage! Again the irresponsible are making mistakes the responsible will pay for!

Congrats to Sarah, Margaret and Ian. Does anyone know who won Junior Handlers ?

He's probably not quite as big as a Lab puppy but he's sure heavy!! I have put Mason's puppy collar on him as we are going to the puppy classes shortly, he's done nothing but scratch since he's had it on! I guess it's normal when he isn't used to wearing something around his neck ;) Maybe Monday meet up at Tom Lake Cafe? aww Golden Rules what a lovely puppy all the very best with him, he is adorable!!
-
Well Liz, first you get a boy dog.....and then you get a girl dog......and........ Oh as simple and that...reckless and careless owners.. I see. I actually posted the advert for the pups a few pages back, it was a Dashy cross crested, I even phoned the woman way back then!!
