  3. From the DogsWest Regulations: A9. REFUSAL OF MEMBERSHIP Notwithstanding that any person, firm, company or association may satisfy the conditions of eligibility for membership, the Council may at its discretion refuse any application for membership or terminate any membership provided that Council is satisfied that the applicant or member has a history of cruelty to animals, without assigning any reason for such refusal. Perhaps they have already? There are no registered Borzoi breeders in WA according to DogsWest's website. Nor any WA breeders listed on Dogzonline. Pretty sure I've met this Borzoi at a specialist clinic. She had been brought in by RSPCA officers. While waiting for my bill to be processed the receptionist mentioned that she was a cruelty case. This was about 12 months ago. Poor girl, I hope she goes to an excellent home soon. Edited: Just found a post I made about it at the time. It was a year ago, not 6 months. Time flies! In 2012, she was 32nd in the Borzoi Breed Challenge List Aust Ch Chogori Kangtega (WA) (Ms A Culverwell) Im sure I saw something in Dogswest re her removal months ago, they only need to be charged not convicted I believe, then the person can apply if overturned. Lets hope the $SPCA don't start turning up at dog shows
  4. Yes I can state that it was, apart from the times it was allowed to run freely through the Inspectorate eating all it felt like, and growling when people like myself tried to offer it some training in manners. The sores on its sides from the kennels IMHO were worse than the effects on being in a car, which I may add lead to the dog being kenneled that very night at RSPCA kennels. I really disagree that the media was given a photo if the dog with SHOW ribbons in the car ( this is just typical of the RSPCA) and their slant on breeders, plenty of other photos to use re the dog, shame on the RSPCA again.
  5. Pockets Ill guess 8 but I am hopeless with xrays I had enough trouble seeing my ONE! lol
  6. Monteba I am so sorry sending lots of love xoxox
  7. Thank you Mjosa, we are wrapped with the one, its not a breed for most, so I don't need to do the worry of the right home!
  8. I can let everyone know we had our little singleton pup born 6th June by C Section, a bitch, this long awaited puppy is a FIRST for the breed in Australasia. we also have a video of the birth Annata the video
  9. FINALLY, after a LONG time I can say we are expecting a puppy!! After a LOT of work with some excellent vets and helpful breeders in Mexico and Norway we can announce Australias first Xolo will be born early next month.
  10. thanks for the replies, its no doubt something that cant be fixed, so rather than fuss with this with more tests and wasted money, we have imported some semen and brought a new dog for the future. ( fingers crossed)
  11. thank you, we did have his prostate checked, but I have learnt a lot from this thread thank you again
  12. No not a diet fault or anything that can be fixed by herbal" etc all good, it was just an issue I thought maybe someone had dealings with and an answer . I think its just Gods will lol, all good have semen from others and a male dog to replace, just hate not having a definite answer. Thanks again
  13. Thank you everyone for the replies OliBlu yours sounds identical to the problem we faced, it appears the problem cant be pin pointed by vets and has cropped up world wide. Thank you all again for replies.
  14. high count but yes something not right, appeared to be better as a young dog and by age 4 was not functioning, looks like it may be in certain lines, but cant confirm that, just some basic research I have done with certain matings.
  15. has anyone had experience with a semen sample of a high count but with missing tails on most of the semen, slow moving sperm on the ones with tails ? This makes it impossible for the sperm to penetrate the egg? Looking for anyone who has experienced the same with semen or their dog ? Not an infection and been tested for all the vet can think of.
  16. I was told the pellets the semen is supposed to keep moving where as straws its up and down, I think its what each vet prefers, with one vet I used I was only able to get the pellets so I didn't have a choice, if you email me I can email you the info the two companies sent me. [email protected]
  17. I have used Genes In Motion and Cryogenes, one uses pellets and one uses straws
  18. Totally agree with the no change out of 10K !! You also have to be prepared for the possibility of spending that small fortune on a dog that you may not even be able to breed on from for one reason or another. I'm a member of the 'expensive pets' club. To have the breed recognised here you will have to actually import one of the breed & obtain an FCI export pedigree for the dog. The ANKC won't even consider your application without AQIS proof that the dog has arrived in the Country. Cheers. . The ANKC will help before the breed of dog actually gets here, if you need any help advice, I am happy to email the info as I have, having done this a few years ago with a new breed. It IS NOT difficult, as many will tell you and quite a learning curve. I didn't visit my breeder but built up a strong rapport with her, I will suggest if importing a male to have the semen evaluated beforehand ( a mistake I made) All the very best of luck, and believe me nothing is impossible ( even if you need to fight to change some ANKC rules, it CAN be done ) J
  19. no no bad all good, and....... funny I have a few agility people on my list for dogs, Xolos across the world have been desexed early with no adverse effects. Having said that if an example was excellent I would keep it and let the agility person use it in my name ( sorry OT!) Good luck with your tyre kickers
  20. Thanks Leema, re read and did sound a bit odd, but its my way and it works , as my breeder said to me.
  21. maybe in your breed, I didn't know the OPs breed, and I have great homes on my list, must be who each breed deals with I guess.
  22. I desex MY pups, but that's to get rid of the tyre kickers if you state ' I desex all pets befpore sale" those that are not really interested will go away! That's what I have found, not a debate on what you do with the dogs, ( Im sure you do what is best, like we all do ) I was trying to answer the orginal q with what I do ( hope that makes sense!) lol
  23. that's what you say, what you do is up to you.
  24. I just say I desex ALL pets before sale, never hear back from the time wasters!
