They were also sent out by themselves for periods of time to fend for themselves which is why they have a pretty strong pack instinct/drive (unsure what the correct term is here) and pretty intense prey drive... but it's weird, I can't get mine interested in prey items (tugs/balls/rags) but any moving animal is game on time. Easy dogs are boring

Doubt it, Axle never mellowed out I got a Sibe for my "first" dog, and my second, and a working GSD for my third. It'll just be a steep learning curve but you'll survive. I'm not into easy dogs.

You've chosen a terrible breed for a first time owner :cool: I used to think recalls in sibes was impossible. I've changed my mind, however, positive only methods will NOT work. I can confidently say that in 99% of sibes you will never obtain 100% compliance without using punishments. Huskies by nature are incredibly independent. Luckily Gizmo and Lily are about 1000 times easier than Axle was. Axle was an incredibly tough dog. Of course, all sibes are different. This is just going by the dozen or so I've met.

I don't use grains or pasta as it is empty nutrition. However, if I was feeding a large dog who obtained all he needed but still needed a bit more food to "full him up" then I would consider using some, but I'd more than likely just feed more bones/meat.

Yeah, same. Mine sells Science Diet and some raw type food but I didn't look much - they just suggested I try a different type of meat when Lily got her first ear problem but now we've figured out that diet isn't the cause. Never suggested I use the dry.

That makes more sense. ILTBY never actually saw me handle Chelsea (well, she did a bit) but Chelsea would actually sit for me. Just as an example we'd be in a room to go outside, I make all the dogs sit in front of me and be calm then let them out. She would actually come up and sit down, but she wouldn't come to my outside or in any other rooms. Not sure if that changes anything, but more info is always good!
