What cheeses me off is when people leave their dogs in tiny crates unattended and unsheltered for most of the day while they are off politicking!
-
Absolutely beautiful!! Have always loved this breed from afar.

Unfortunately I do know of 2 bitches that fought to the death and both died in the family living room. :D Horrible!

Thanks for that weisnjac - that probably is the reasoning behind being indoors then. Am looking forward to outdoor shows again at the park!
-
Thanks but the forcast is for a few showers on Sat and mostly sunny on Sunday... hardly bad weather to force us all indoors ?????? I wonder if the venue will be revised before the weekend?
-
If the weather is good for the weekend are they likely to change their minds and have the show outside and we will all have no gazebos to hide under?

The first link is not working for me? -
Thanks for the tips everyone. I've ordered one of those brake fast bowls, I really hope it slows him down. He just about choked on his breakfast this morning!

I put down a tarp and swap it over with another one once it gets soiled for cleaning. I put down a heap of newspapers and only remove the top layer once its been toileted on to leave the lovely enticing wee wee smells for the pups to learn that is where they must go for all their potty needs. When cleaning up poop its important to put a layer of newspaper over the top of some of the poops so they dont get it all over themselves but it leaves the smell there so they know to do all their poops in the same spot. Always leave a poop or 2 under the paper for awhile to teach them. They learn to always go on the newspapers really fast using this method. Just look out if hubby or grandad puts his newspapers down on the floor while he's still reading it cos all the pups will race over and oblige! Had that happen quite a few times

Thanks for the tips on the bowls, I think I'll have to get one of those. The pup is around 4 months old and yes, he is teething but has always eaten like this. I was worried he'd choke on the chicken necks so stopped them right away. He actually does chew the chicken wings thank goodness but inhales pretty much everything else

I have a problem with a puppy who is a real guts and I am worried that he may inhale the food into his lungs instead of his stomach and set up an infection there and make him sick. I've never had this problem before with 20 years of breeding experience. Does anyone have any tips for making him slow down his eating and actually make him chew his food instead of rushing it so much that he does not chew it at all? He inhales chicken necks (I've stopped giving those now) and large breed dry kibble. Thanks for any suggestions

Kennel Cough + Shows + Dont Do It! Agh!
peaceful replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
If you press your fingers against her throat and it makes her cough then it is probably KC. That is how the vets check for it.
