The Strangest Thing Just Happened Here
Fit for a King replied to Staffyluv's topic in General Dog Discussion
SL - I would ring the police again - ask to speak to the Desk Seargent and request that someone come out and collect the hacksaw and swab the blood......it is, after all, evidence and may be linked to other break-ins.....be firm but persistant..... -
Neighbours Dog Digs Into My Backyard
Fit for a King replied to poodlesrule's topic in General Dog Discussion
Interesting - I saw a Judge Judy episode on this very topic and I thought her ruling was WAY off base........Neighbour 1 has small dog, Neighbour 2 has two large dogs. Said large dogs dig through and grab small dog, drag it into their yard and kill it. Neighbour 1 fills hole under fence and purchases yet another small dog. Neighbour 2's dogs again dig under and kill it.....this time they are caught in Neighbour 1's yard with body of victim in their mouths. Neighbour 2 accepts no responsibilty and refuses to pay for anything.....and JJ agree with him....said that Neighbour 1 had no right to leave a small dog in the yard without being supervised at all times and verdict was for the defendant (Neighbour 2)........I actually wondered if she was off her meds that day - the bizarrest ruling I have heard in a while..... -
I think that's a bit harsh.....on the duck.........

Ridiculous/awesome Names
Fit for a King replied to Chequeredblackdog's topic in General Dog Discussion
How about a pug named Fang or a Min Pin named Brutus Beefcake (after the wrestler)....... -
I exhibit 3 breeds in 3 different groups but only breed one....I wouldn;t even consider breeding the other two as frankly 1) I'm not inyerested and 2) I don't know nearly enough about the breeed let alone the lines......happy to promote the breed just not add to the population.....

Feel Like Slapping Your Forehead?
Fit for a King replied to Fit for a King's topic in General Dog Discussion
This will be my last comment on the subject - it seems the MDBA has, IMO, moved far away from its original objectives to promote PUREBRED dogs.....the inclusion of oodle breeders makes no sense to me and they can try and justify it all they like but it just doesn't fly for one very good reason - why create oodles if not to crank them out for money? With all the breeds currently available and those that actually ARE hypoallergenic and therefore fit for purpose why create oodles? As for the Cobber dog - what a load of crap - money, money, money...... -
Didn't someone post a link and story on the Von Forell kennels not so long ago??? From memory it wasn't very flattering....
-
Err thanks but just went through that thread and can't find any reference to someone breeding their dog in the way portrayed in this thread - what am I missing? Or did you think I menat the thread about the $500 fee? the OP of this thread was talking about someone breeding their bitch - it's THAT thread I'm after pls....
-
And just so you are kept up to date Dogs Qld have moved to have an injunctuion passed so that the breeds remains separated until the ANKC can hear further debate on the issue....so don't hold your party just yet Lilli.....and just as an aside Kangals still appear in the breeds list for Dogs Qld as at today :)

where is this thread pls????

Phil is now the only one I would bother with......Christine Kidd at Manly Rd was good but no longer undertakes repo work. I tried Annette Page but wouldn't dip into that particular well again (happy to pm you with reasons)....so only Phil for me.....

Lolafolata - have you considered legal action against the people from whom you bought the pup or at least reporting themt o Fair tRading to see if you can get any money rturned/reimbursed for your outlay?

Someone Sold Me A Pitbull Not A Cocker Spaniel
Fit for a King replied to Atanquin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Atanquin - maybe next time you see him ask what breed his dog is - it would be interstng to see if his lack of breed recognition includes his own....may also give you an idea how serious some of his issues are..... -
have they also considered that they are unwittingly comparing the two dogs - ie Dog #1 is X, Y, Z whereas Dog #2 doesn;t do X or Y......they may not be doing it consciously BUT......they have to treat her like an individual.....

Dog Coughing? Huffing & Puffing?
Fit for a King replied to kirsty79's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If you opt to treat him with the benadryl and not visit a vet then pls keep him isolated from other dogs - if it is canine Cough you will just spread it by taking him out.... -
That is one of many reasons I don't use off leash parks....it used to be a common occurrence at a park in East Brisbane.....a family would wait until people brought their dogs down in the afternoon then walk up and dump their kids over the fence and wander off to sit a few hundred metres away to smoke and drink. We were supposed to be watchful of their brats who would run around screaming, chasing dogs, grabbing tails and ears and causing chaos.....within 5 minutes the place would empty of dogs and the kids would be throwing tantrums that their toys had gone....it didn't matter how many times we spoke to the parents they would tell us to "f off" as it was their "right" to be there.....many of us left that particular park - it simply wasn't worth the aggrevation......after a few more scary occurrences at off leash parks I simply stopped using them. It is my right to determine who touches my dogs and who doesn't....just like a normal parent wouldn't like one of their children being manhandled by a complete stranger I don't like my dogs being touched without permission.....
-
impound the dog certainly but also impound the bloody kids and neuter their bloody irresponsible parents....
-
I admit - I now feel completely inadequate......it's hard to tell who was having the most fun - man or canines!!! Watching them run - I wonder if there is some greyhound in the mix????

New Law Condemns Pups Weekly Times Feb 1 2012
Fit for a King replied to Shazzapug's topic in In The News
I don't think the law is contradictory - I think the news article is, however.... All cats and dogs must now be microchipped before they are sold or given away. - that's the law so you must m/chip unless you get an exemption via a vet's letter. You don't need to put the m/chip number in an ad if you are giving the animal away....but it still must be microchipped...... That's the way I read it.... -
