I'm very sorry for your loss Run free at Rainbow Bridge Riley
-
thank you everyone, I will give them all a go! thanks for your help :)
-
He is a wriggle worm and as a flat face breed - a griffon - nothing to hold onto to help. Eye currently stitched up as had an awful accident and the vet said try and put ointment in if possible. So far no luck. any suggestions from anyone? thank you :)
-
what an absolute cutie!
-
griffons are great little dogs too - well mine is anyway They do like their exercise but also love nothing better than sitting on a lap chilling out My one also copes with many dogs really well
-
especially as one of the norwich terriers had died recently, change in pack leadership, associating with other dogs they probably don't see that often, recipe for disaster.

What Could Have Happened To Oreo?
Ons replied to CathyM's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
straight to the vet to check out there is no medical problem -
my two goldens live with my own griffon bruxellois and 3 coolies as well as uncountable no. of coolies my housemate owns. All get on very well together My male golden was brought up by a maltese and knew she was the boss. I'd tend to go for another golden though :)

The Great Fancy Mouse Photoshoot!
Ons replied to Chris the Rebel Wolf's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
wow, they are great photos I didn't know that mice came in such varied breeds, coat lengths and colours -
I'm very sorry for your loss. Thinking of you
-
My griffon and my coolie are the greatest of friends, now they are two very different breeds. And at the moment the griffon is curled up in a bed with my coolie pup, having had a good play all afternoon, they will become greatest of friends. Griffons and coolies are two different breeds in relation to size and energy. Mocha the griffon just tells Latte off if she is getting a bit boisterous with him. So I think it can work very well

lots and lots of prayers and good wishes coming from the Ons gang hope your little ones improve in health.

:) probably nothing! we have beautiful dogs .. fine with us & those they work with .. but they will not tolerate strangers . same with one of my coolies, absolutely worships me, adores my housemate but very wary of strangers. She lunges on the lead at strangers if they get too close. None of my other dogs are like this at all, it's just how she is.

I have no idea how any true rescue oculd make any profit whatsoever, I would imagine many would be completely in the red When I fostered one dog, yes they would have made a profit. That's fantastic. But I only ever expected a Rescue to pay for the vet fees, I paid for flea/worm treatments/food etc because I could afford to. There would be many wonderful foster carers who couldn't and the REscue would no doubt willingly pay for that as well so even on a "no fuss" dog no profit would be made. However the next dog the Rescue spent alot of money on an operation, far outweighed any money they got when the dog went to her forever home. So good luck to Rescue to get what price they ask for for the dog

have a look at a griffon as well, come in smooth coat and rough coat.. I have a smooth coat, he is such a character. Loves people and absolutely loves other dogs, he lives with a whole pack of other much bigger dogs and gets on very well with them all. And at night nothing nicer than sitting on mum's lap having a snuggle :)
-
thank you and every day he gets stronger and stronger :) soooo skinny though and you can feel every rib he is growing taller though which is good so I guess that the food is being utilised upwards not outwards. He even eats on his own now and has a litle variety :) I had visions of him going to live on a property, spending all morning rounding up masses of sheep and then the farmer having to handfeed him his dinner nicely steamed chicken that the farmer's wife had prepared with a little bit of shredded cheese coz that's the only thing that he would eat for a bit and the only way he would eat it  somehow though I don't think that this boy is ever going to leave here, far far too special. His Dad is 13 years old.
-
thank you everyone :) seeing the other pups in the litter died  this pup is so special more solid poops, games with my little griffon are fun for him and his tummy is filling out nicely I know that we are still not out of the woods but I really feel that we can make it :)
-
thanks everyone :) good news is that pup decided that eating was good on Saturday evening and all day yesterday and even had breakfast this morning :) just gentle stuff, steamed chicken, yesterday afternoon he had some Fish for Dogs, just a little, and some goats milk. Mum realises that he is unwell and is letting him feed which is good Persephone, he was 8% dehydrated when I took him to the vets on WEdnesday afternoon. Her solution was for me to syringe him with lectaid every half hour or so until bedtime and then wake up in the middle of the night and do some more. Good thing was that he actually was drinking lectaid himself. My housemate and myself did victory dances this morning when he actually pooped a proper poop

we tried cat food, the cats "willingly" gave up one of their little Fancy Feast tins, wouldn't eat it I will try the Quick Oats - t hanks for that and thank you for the puppy milk recipe as well, that may well be a great solution On a positive side, he ate a little bit of ham this afternoon, probably not the best thing for him but he ate it now I'm keeping a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't throw it up but so far so good :) he is such a wee little treasure, I really hope he makes it, I just think that if he starts to eat he will :)
-
after a bout of gastric he is 7 weeks old, has now stopped vomiting, we just need to get him interested in food again. Tried bbq chicken, chicken/rice/egg, scrambled egg, My Dog little tins He is drinking lectade and Mum will let him have the odd suckle (although she is pretty dry now). Also been giving him some nutrogel which he does not like Just need to find him that something irrestable to him! thank you

Do You Have A Foster That You Regret Rehoming?
Ons replied to Staffyluv's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
It was really hard to let Gemma go, I cried buckets but I knew I had to. I wasn't the right home for her - she was an old blue cattle dog and my dogs were just too boisterous for her. And she went to the most loveliest of homes to an older lady in Brisbane who wrote to me and said "Gemma needed me and I needed Gemma". :) I do have a foster failure here though, he just tugged on my heart :) -
when I walked my griffon and my oversize golden retreiver together i used to get odd comments
