that was my thought too pointees, have a look on the DOL breed pages for mature dogs. Certainly it's not a rescue dog but it's a dog looking for a loving pet home i'm sorry to hear of the bad luck that you have had with your other dogs but i'm sure there is a wonderful puppy looking for it's forever home just around the corner.

another one who followed leo's story and so pleased to see how it turned out, lovely to see pictures of him and his family sorry about the troubles you have had Ambervale but you seem such a positive person and so i hope all goes well

didn't the Luv Biscuits come in a carton with five or so flavours and in different shapes and colours? my sisters and i used to dare each other to eat them, occassionally we did :D the dogs liked them but what a load of ***** they would have had in them, s'pose we didnt' know better in those days.

Run Free Little Bebe, Free Of Pain At Last
Ons replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in Rainbow Bridge
hugs to you Dogmad and thank you for providing her with a loving home in her remaining years RIP Bebe -
Dad put dynamic lifter all over my lawn when he came visiting I wasn't impressed although it certainly made the grass grow I had to keep the dogs from going outside unless supervised for a day or two as they loved the stuff but they had no side affects whatsoever

My Sweet Boy, With A Heart So Much Bigger Than His Size

I am so sorry to hear of your loss RIP Cruise hugs to you and your family -
totally off topic but okay that confirms it Onslow and Atlas are related - Onsy does exactly the same thing and Kaos and Tilly are related - she is a sook too! my coolie then proceeds to tell both Onsy and Tilly off then come dobbing on them to mum Tilly had a wonderful time playing with the toy you sent in secret Santa - the one on the rope ;) Onsy got it and has managed to destroy the bottom bit of plastic lucky it is still playable with but just confiscated for the time being, or I thought it was - he just came up with it for a tug of war game with him (which I dont' play with him coz of his dominance issues).
-
my Onsy is like that too Teebs, but at five he has really astonished me recently about how good he is with certain situations at home (he is the most delightful angel when out and about) I no longer feel that I have to be on top of him all the time but it was draining for a long time Bub my female golden retreiver was an angel, then suddenly at around 8 months of age she decided she didnt' have to come when called and could do what she liked coz she was so important. This lasted for less than a month and now back to being just the mad Miss Tilly-Rose who at times I don't think she even knows what she is doing

unusual for a labrador I'd give him 10 minutes to eat, if he hasn't take bowl away. And give him normal amount for his next feed - but not leftovers, fresh stuff! He will soon learn quickly that is what happens and what he has been given is what he gets. I doubt that much harm would come to a 9 month old pup for missing a meal or two until he cottons on.

poor Katy she will be so wary of that spot now hope her paws mend quickly give her a pat from my gang please!
-
ah oh - I hope she isn't an escape artist like my old maltese RIP. no matter what I did she always managed to get out. CBG might be a good idea to go out the front and wait awhile and see what happens, might indicate where the dogs are getting out. sounds like you have a lovely neighour ;)

awww that's great Bub! Bet they are happy to be home though! Mine were away for 2 1/2 weeks and they had a great time but now so happy to be home they won't leave me alone :D your goldens are beautiful!

lots and lots of coolies still used for what they were bred to do round up sheep and cattle my boy does have some instinct, he is awesome at rounding up the cats giving them "eye" first I don't know about in Australia but certainly in England my uncle's labrador was used to go pheasant hunting and retrieve the birds

absolutely beautiful, just gorgeous!

some were just left offf here my big boy hates loud noise so far okay, he is so tired from staying at my friends so hopefully they don't disturb him
-
i agree, dogs need to be invited specifically and I would only ask that person if they had a dog or knew they loved dogs, - even then i would assess the situation and maybe just take my male golden retreiver as he is quiet and well behaved when out visiting.

when my darling cavalier got very sick when I was on holidays over Christmas five years ago I was daily visiting the vets and it was a walk in time, I didn't like it, would rather make an appointment. They were lovely vets though even though had never used them before. And when there was no hope for my darling Poppy they made a special appointment for us to bring her in for the last time so we wouldnt' be waiting in the waiting room .

Hoping all the very very best for Grover and that they find out what is wrong with him

because I was moving town and had nowhere to live my Tilly had to go to the kennels when she was only four months old. And she was fine! They looked after her so well. And now she loves going to the kennels, happy to come home but she pulls me over to get in. i'm sure that Bit Bit will be more than fine. i think it's a good idea actually to get our dogs used to being away from us, what happened if there was an emergency and you have to go away unexpectedly?
-
are you sure that you have had her only for a couple of weeks? The way that she is snuggling into your children in the first photo shows how settled and feeling loved she feels with your family, just absolutely gorgeous and how any golden retreiver (well any dog really) should feel. beautiful beautiful photos

she looks so comfy!
