  1. yikes! reason she came off heat! I'd go post this in breeders section as well but I would explain that you intend to get the dog desexed as soon as possible. Your girl may need extra supplements being so young but they will be able to assist you.
  2. awww absolutely gorgeous :-)
  3. shoes! Onslow has become a huge shoe thief! and not necessarily my shoes I have to be careful with visitor's shoes too. He has stolen my mum's shoes out of her suitcase. I have become friends with his vet and she was over one night. She was leaving and went to look for her shoes, he had taken both outside, luckily not chewed. Another friend thought hers was safe under the coffee table, she was chatting away, Onsy was hanging around and then suddenly he trotted away Yep I knew instantly what he had done normally he doesn't chew them but on occassions has chewed mine to destruction grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  4. nope, i don't think it's good enough, the breeder should have been in touch with you weekly and acknowledged payment of deposit Tilly's breeder lived 3 hours away from me she sent me photos weekly of Tilly and her sister (wasn't sure which one she was going to keep as her show dog) and weekly emails about what she was doing once she even sent an email apologising for not being able to send a photo because she had been busy but sent it within a couple of days I built up a lovely rapport with her and she got to know me, I would have thought that any good genuine breeder would have liked to know as much as possible about the home their puppy is going too and know that the puppy buyer would be comfortable in asking any questions even after puppy was brought home even though that Tilly is now four we are still in touch and are Facebook friends and I see her sometimes at local shows
  5. if you are looking for a pet to do obedience/agility rather than showing I would recommend that you drop the "l" out of a collie and substitute it with a "o" and you get a COOLIE fantastic loyal obedient dogs and mine does well with a walk of about 30 minutes a day and a play in the backyard with me or his siblings. come in multi colours. Best thing is they seem to adapt to your lifestyle. Sadly though they can't be shown yet
  6. my golden retriever Onslow really surprised me a few months back. He is a barker but not a protective barker. My niece was staying the night en route to wherever she was going and had a friend with her. Ons knew Melissa but not the friend. Melissa turns up at midnight so I let Onsy out to go say hello. He started barking this ferocious bark and his hairs stood up, he was in full alert mode. As soon as Melissa said "hello Onsy what's wrong" his whole attitude changed and it was tail and body wags. But it gave me some confidence that he may be able to step up to the mark if need be, of course I wouldn't rely on that. My coolie I wouldn't trust if someone was attacking me. i think he would go full on. He has growled at some men when I have been walking him, a kind of "back off and don't go near my mum" growl. One thing that I feel safe about is that if there was a stranger that they would be too busy looking at what the huge golden retreiver was doing and not notice the littlier dog behind what he was doing. and he would be the one I would be afraid of.
  7. I'm really really sorry to hear about Charlie devastating I'd look at a cavalier too. Your OH best not tell my dad that they aren't men dogs - Dad and Mum have Katie and Kyra Cavaliers and Dad, a non dog lover, adores them especially Katie who follows him around constantly whilst he is gardening. Cavaliers are really sweet and seem to be settled when you are and active when you are, may be ideal for Charlie.
  8. Onslow came with a folder of what to feed him, his parent's health certificates, his family tree, vacination card, microchip, he didn't come with his registration as from memory it wasn't back in time but posted very shortly after. His breeder was kind enough to give me some of his kibble as well. Tilly came with vacination card, microchip details, registration, parent's health certificates and a booklet on golden retreivers .
  9. awww very very cute all of them
  10. Gunnedah residents, and I know a few, are up in arms about the koalas being taken away. RSPCA is not popular at the moment at all there. the local vets used to send the sick koalas to the wildlife park because they knew how to treat them! Surely they would know what they were doing! Another problem is, as I understand, that Gunnedah koalas don't have clamydia (sp?) but where they are at Port Macquarie they do. I hope the Gunnedah koalas don't catch it then come home to spread it. They are supposed to be in quarantine! and the transporting of the koalas, apparently done in laundry baskets? What the............................. poor little koalas
  11. don't forget to leave the cable ties on for a week when the person is found AND to kick the person out of their home so he can wander the streets without shelter, food and water poor poor dog, handsome fellow too, I hope he is okay
  12. thanks skip I ended up posting this on Rescue site as well because I had no responses. You may like to have a look, there are some great ideas! We still aren't useed to the cat but Banjo is so well behaved in his crate so he comes inside and sits in it, if he fidgets too much he is outside. has come such a long way for a boy that has only been here for two weeks
  13. oh my goodness what a dreadful fright1 i'm glad it ended okay though go have a glass of wine!
  14. that story is lovely Newfsie. i know my boy would protect me to the end of the earth. Aussie3, coolies can come in short, medium and long coat. Have a look at the thread that is "difference between aussies and borders" because Perry's Mum has posted some pictures of the different coats of coolies in that.
  15. another one here with time watchers. mine know when to sit by the gate and wait, even if i am home late but if I'm home on the rare occassion early no one is waiting at all i'd go half gym, half dog walk as well or get a Wii and train at home with pug watching
  16. this is my coolie boy they can be spelt either Koolie or coolie they are my heart dogs now, having owned my first coolie I can't imagine life without one. They are too smart for their own good though and cause me great laughs Only this morning Flash was lying on the floor looking at the cats intently under the bed, I told him to stop it and get on the bed. he jumped on the bed, he is very obedient, but then proceeded to hang over it looking at the cats intently under the bed only a coolie would think to do that
  17. I was also thinking with five week old puppies she may be very busy! what sort of puppy are you getting?
  18. I have a broken retreiver and a broken coolie here at the sheep up the road, the coolie hides behind his mummy and the retreiver takes a great interest in them and barks the big tough foster cattle dog carries toys around in his mouth (ummm Im sure he didnt' get that from the retreiver ) and the male retreiver is petrified of the noise of thunder - ummm wasn't he bred to be beside his owner as they fire off guns? but I wouldn't swap the three of them for all the tea of China and hope that the foster dog finds a lovely home
  19. Perry's Mum - coolies jsut look different from kelpies don't they, I just couldnt explain why here are photos of my tri coloured blue merle boy, he has a typical coolie look but alot smaller than other coolies (except maybe width wise and we are working on that - he got his human mum's fat genes )
  20. I thought that i could tell the difference between an aussie and a border collie but now Im not sure My coolie is a blue merle tri colour. coolies can also come in chocolate, black, black and white, chocolate and white, black, tan and white, black and tan along with the merles. Coolies are normally finer than kelpies, I'd like to say that I could tell the difference between a coolie and a kelpie but Im not sure about that either
  21. another one who enjoyed the photos RIP Rocco, run free at Rainbow Bridge hugs to your family
  22. he may have picked up a bit of a cold at the kennels too when my maltese did my vet described it as when you go to a conference with a pack of people you often end up with a cold this was a long time ago but from memory she got some medication and recovered very quickly keep an eye on him, keep him quiet and if he still is unwell i'd take him to the vets.
