Still a working dog that needs lots of exercise and stimulation aha that's why i like the coolies! Most, not all I will admit, have a really good "off" switch and will settle. Sure they need a good walk each day and I find particularly with my boy that he needs some stimulation in something to do but living with 2 other dogs and 3 cats he is well provided with this but he is happy to lie around the couch as well

a coolie smart dog, comes in short or long coat and adapts to your living style

hope you boy gets better soon. put an add in the local papper as well - they may even do an article if you ring and tell them the story

harnessing her to the portaloo such as you would to a sled might tire her out a bit and you could give her some exercise and you not have to leave the loo all at the same time forget you having to push with your legs - she can do that might need some antibiotics or soemthing if the gastro doesn't get better if the bug has really taken hold. Hope you feel better soon, it's not fun

Nope but I hope she doesn't. Me too bloody cow of a dog lol I think some dogs even if you do get them to the point of exhaustion just like digging. The only thing that worked for me, and i must admit mine are really not that bad, they just loved digging up trees which I was desperately trying to grow to provide shade for them was to put an electric thunderbolt fence up the garden, don't know if that is practicable for your grass. and I do hope you feel better, I must admit I did have a bit of a laugh with the image of you trying to walk your dog in the town you live in carrying a toilet

a girl i knew when i lived in Moree was starting a commercial rabbit farm. They weren't having a lot of success at that stage (hopefully things might have changed for them) as myxamatosis (sp?) or another disease can't remember which one was rampant. The bunnies had to be innoculated but it was very expensive and the price they got for rabbit meat not worth it. There was a rabbit abbatoir at Narrabri they took the rabbits too. I remember her saying that they had sick bunnies quarantined and someone visited without permission and them knowing and patted the sick bunnies then went into the other area and the disease was spread

sounds to me like she is a typical puppy and that you are doing a great job with her! some cavaliers are just high prey drive whilst others don't care. I think it's part of the genetics of what breeds they are made up of but could be wrong. My sweet little blenheim Poppy RIP was the laziest little dog, took her around to a friend's place one day, looked around and she was climbing up a chair, then over a chest of drawers to get to a bird in a cage. She was an awesome mouser too. Sorry don't know the solution to the chickens, I just think that in time they will learn to live with each other and consistent reinforcement if she is exhibiting interest in them.

:D any other time you are more than welcome. Gunnedah has a show frequently and it's not that far from my place (well a bit over an hour's drive but that's not far for me )
-
Daisy you are more than welcome to stay at my place provided you don't mind a messy houe and you don't mind the odd dog or cat sharing your bed Poocow if you park your trailer outsiide my place or in my driveway whilst we are at the Chinese that's fine. I only have one neighbour who would hear dogs barking from a trailer and his stipulation is that I don't let mine bark late at night and early morning, other than that he is fine :D nice neighbour! He also is in a band so isn't home often on Saturday nights.

yay! i get to meet your corgis

she looks pretty happy with the kids I think play dates are a great idea, they know all about her and a 100% guarantee that if it doesn't work out that she comes back to you. I think also slightly older kids such as these are may be far less of a risk than very little kids.

Im shy! Seriously I did once go up to a tent and ask if they were so and so from DOL and they just stared at me as if I was completely mad so have stopped asking. Maybe this year we could exchange mobiles and I could ring and find out exactly where you are! I know Sue from Kingstown who shows min pins so that may be another way of finding you - I'll ask her where The Ark is no problems about crating the dogs here whilst we are out to dinner if you like Hope you can make it!

Stella my foster dog got her stitches removed today. I was told 10 days as well for her but it was 12 days today which the vet said was fine as easier to take her in on a Saturday. I would imagine boys would be the same. Her only instructions were to keep the stitches clean and dry.

unless there were complications I've never heard of a male let alone a female which is a more complicated operation having to be confined for 14 days for a desexing operation Sir WJ's advice was good, take the dog for a walk for 15 minutes. then play mind games with him. good luck with it all.

that Kootingal is in woop woop and you probably are wondering who would go to a get together BUT the Tamworth Dog Show is on the October long weekend AND it actually is at Kootingal! So I'm thinking if anyone is up to meeting at the Bowling Club on the Saturday night for a chinese meal, they do a really nice one! Far better than your normal country chinese. or meeting at some other time! I'm sure that if no one wanted to leave their dogs at the showground whilst they were out we could work out using crates something at my place My place and the Bowling Club are all easy safe walking distance from the showground

I'm trusting that the dogs got a check up with the vet just in case there is an underlying abcess or soemthing? that is very very frightening for your poor sister and for the poor little dogs. I really hope that your sister is alright and thank you for posting and warning everyone
