  3. Oh my gosh, I thought too at first that miss T was a dog then realised no a child either way totally unacceptable and would have been the scariest thing glad that you were not hurt and that Miss T is okay too, can you go with her and meet some friendly dogs so she doesn't develop a phobia? and hope the Council catches the dog quickly
  4. well I think I have solved the what breed he is question? very very cute! off to look at some more.

  8. thanks for all that information. very interesting! especially the information about what sparring actually means. and it would be wonderful to watch in a controlled environment. eta to make my post a bit clearer
  9. :p oh dear. Did you have any sightings of him at all? what is the next step such a shame :D but thank you all for at least trying to help this poor dog.
  10. poor dog wishing you all the very very best and hoping that the dog is sleeping in a nice warm bed tomorrow night
  11. and maybe taking note whether the licking is worse or not depending whether the other girl is staying or has just left? that may be a trigger. I know that my coolie licks his paws when he is stressed but mostly I can tell what has triggered it. and to a degree he sounds like the same personality as your dog (He was a rescue dog) except I don't think he is generally nervy, but he loves routine. Funny thing to do when you think about it isn't it, they must derive some sort of comfort from it. Hope you find a solution for her
  12. if it's been wet and humid fleas will come. when there was a plague of them I tried everything to get rid of them. Onslow was being treated every second week but to no avail. I fleabombed the house and changed the spot on I was using. This worked. But this was a plague not one or two! I hadn't heard of Capstar then.
  13. Jaybeece what a wonderful tribute to your beautiful kitties. How loved they were by you and what wonderful life they led. RIP sweet kitties hugs to you Jaybeece.
  14. all healing thoughts and prayers coming from my Onsntillnflash gang to Yogi poor little fellow, hope he heals quickly
  15. ;) i have a linus here too seriously cute photos!
  16. Walcha isn't really that far from Sydney up Buckets Way, maybe 4 hour trip from the north shore, perhaps a bit longer If I starved Tilly maybe I could enter her! She would be mad in the ring though, alot of training would need to be done\ but it's great that neutar shows are being held
  17. :D ;) only because I was trying to explain this in another thread and told impossible. But I don't think it is and I live with my boy quite happily and my friend has masses of coolies. Whilst there are some who are hyperactive most are very settled dogs with a good "off" switch. That's why I love my boy so much. He gets about 30 minutes walk a day, he gets to boss a male golden retreiver and 3 cats around, he gets to play with his best mate a female golden retreiver and he gets to lie on the couch for hours. and is a very happy boy it's not only about exercise but also about just being with him. flashy and I also play "grandmother footsteps" down the hallway I walk down the hall and he follows and I suddenly stop and he suddenly stops behind me ('cept his tail is often wagging) and he loves just having the footy kicked around the backyard for him. from the sounds of it I think a coolie would be perfect for your mum but would choose a breeder that knows the pups. my friend has a litter at the moment and one due and she would be able to help
  18. gotta have the solid ones as you shouldn't breed merle to merle or pups may be deaf I love the chocolate solid ones, I was so tempted when my friend had a litter and one was a solid chocolate girl. She has also bred some chocolate and white. She restrains me though or I would have a houseful of dogs beautiful dogs everyone. If you want to send me some photos valleyCBR I'll show them to my friend and see what she thinks
  19. RIP Mozart and Beethoven, run free At Rainbow Bridge
  20. this story made me of joy such a wonderful story and I hope all goes from strength to strength
  21. I've posted this to my Facebook as some of my friends on there were doing the circuit. I know when Stella my foster dog came from the pound and came down with kennel cough shortly after that I quarantined all of mine for two weeks at my place. I was not going to be responsible for any outbreak of kennel cough in my town. Even though only one of mine got a very mild dose thankfully for only two days then she was fine, poor Stella was worse. It's a horrible disease and to hear them coughing is I can't believe that people would be so inconsiderate to expose their dogs to other dogs.
  22. This is very interesting to me. I've never heard this before and yet my male golden retreiver is a dreadful resource guarder. Not from me now because I got a behaviouralist to assist but he nicks things then barks if anything goes within metres of him. My friend's lab who is 4 is so full on. Mind you my female golden retriever who is 4 is pretty full on but not as bad as the lab. My male golden retreiver was lazy from the age of 8 weeks old I never knew why people thought golden retreivers were alot of work when I just had him so went and got another - I certainly then learnt why I like both breeds and agree with statements made about them. But I do have a soft spot for the goldens. Tilly is my toy/teatowel/mummy's undies /whatever she can find carrier and will wander around or sleep always with something in her mouth
  23. awww poor little coolies not being able to be ANKC registered I don't know Kavik, just my experience and I must say I don't know aussies, but I do know some BCs and some Kelpies and to me the coolies seem quieter. I do know alot of different coolies. My friend has more than a few and apart from the odd one they seem pretty settled dogs too. But I 110% agree that they do need exercise and stimulation and are definitely not the dog for everyone Interesting too about good dogs having an off switch. Maybe that's the other problem that I have, there are not many well bred bcs or kelpies around where I live - in fact I was very astonished at the difference when I saw some show bcs at Gunnedah.
