I had a talking toy, Tilly was scared of it, Flash showed some interest and Onslow went completely nutso over it, his worse resource guarding traits came out over it, he just went beserk. so toy is banned :D which is a pity coz I enjoyed playing with it

Dog Mince - Curious On Your Thoughts!?!
Ons replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
I use frozen pet mince from the butcher, i think they just put all the leftover carcass in and mince it. One butcher it is $2.00 a kilo, another $1.50 a kilo. However i go for the $2.00 kilo one because the meat is far less fatty. My dogs are doing well on it, I used to feed only human grade mince and I can't see any difference in the dogs from human grade to pet mince. Even Tilly who does have allergies and I have to be careful what i feed is fine on the pet mince -
that's great I do have a spare crate here or you can bring your own. they can stay either in the laundry or bathroom if you want them locked completely away from mine or in a crate in the family room with mine on view, we can work it out. i'll pm you with details

seems Flashy isn't the only one flash does tell the others off too, the other day Onsy was playing with me whilst I was grooming with him, he accidentally mouthed my hand and Flash snapped at him for doing so Mr Perfect would never to do anything ike that.

With the Tamworth Dog Show and the Agility Trials at Tamworth this weekend I'm hoping that lots of you can come on Saturday night to the Chinese at Kootingal Bowling Club I best book a table so if you could roughly tell me numbers that would be great. My friend is bringing her 3 children, sometimes the Club puts on a DVD for the kids or there is heaps of room for them to run around inside whilst the adults eat. i am a short, maybe 5 minute walk from the showground then another 2 minutes to the Bowling Club. The TREC where the agility is on would be about a 20 minute drive up the New England Highway (unless you are good at following directions then I can tell you the back way which would be about 15 minutes ) Your dogs are more than welcome to be left in crates or dog trailers at my place whilst we are out, even if they bark I really only have one neighbour it would affect and he will most likely be out anyway.

'cept it's at Kootingal which is about 20 minutes on the New England Highway north of Tamworth. Very easy to find. The Tamworth dog show is at Kootingal and some of us on the Saturday night are going to the Kootingal Bowling Club for Chinese - it's well above the average country town chinese. So if any of you would like to join us please pm me and I'll give you more details. My place can accommodate trailers and dog crates if you want to bring dogs and keep them in them when we are out. and don't worry about barking dogs, there is really only one neighbour that we would disturb and he would most likely be out. Hope you can make it! eta I'm posting in here because of the agility trials in Tamworth over the weekend, I'm going to have a sticky on Sunday

anyone else got one? One that like to dob on others, whether human or pets? Flash the coolie is dreadful, he always has to make sure that I know if Onslow my golden retriever or the cats are doing something they shouldn't be doing. Tilly, who is his best mate, can do what ever she likes. Only tonight I was talking on the phone with mum and Flash was sitting next to me. He suddenly gives out a growl, I look up and Violet Cat was on the kitchen bench where she isn't supposed to be big brother was dobbing on her

What's Another Breed Selection Thread? Hehe.
Ons replied to tianakaesha's topic in General Dog Discussion
apart from the easy/maintenance grooming I'd say a minature poodle. And the grooming only requires a drop off to the grooming salon every six weeks (i think it is) albiet with credit card in hand ;) my sister had a poodle with children a little bit older than the children in this thread but not much. And it was an ideal dog for their situation, sadly just passed on at 15 years of age :D and Narla would tick every single box on the requirements including being a very healthy dog until the end she would be a couch potatoe but would love playing fetch as well or just running around being silly with her squeaky toys. -

it's exciting finding out how our dogs relatives are doing in the ring isn't it My golden retreiver was bred for showing but has too much white on her so, thanking my lucky stars, she came to me as a beloved pet. However her relatives are being shown and I am so excited when her breeder posts on Facebook about wins, you would think sometimes I owned the dog
-
 for some reason I need to go hug my dogs and tell them every car ride they go on they will be returning from

Kootingal Chinese is really surprisingly good it's about a 20 min drive from the equestrian centre, less if you are good at following directions because I can tell you the short cut let me know, hope you can make it!

whoa lucky but what good dogs! my lawnmower man had left the side gate open one day and I didn't notice. The two younger ones were inside with me, but Onslow was outside. I was just sitting down having a chat to a friend when there was a bang on the front door. so I went to open it and lo and behold who was sitting there waiting to be let in

where is it being held? At the dog training grounds? The Tamworth Dog Show is on that weekend too but it is at Kootingal. some of us DOLers are meeting at the Kootingal Chinese at the bowling club on the Saturday night. It would be lovely if you guys could make it as well? and yes, it is chillly at the moment in Tamworth - it was getting warmer during the days but not today. And this mornign we had a frost again, thought we were finished for the year!

another good luck here for tomorrow

A Call For Help - Single Dad 5 Kids Injured Dog
Ons replied to Steve's topic in General Dog Discussion
good luck to the dog another option in the future might be if a dog that lives in a smaller country town that the dog could have the operation in a nearby larger regional town and have someone look after the dog for a short while who lives in the larger regional town until it is well enough to travel back to it's home. It's just that the larger regional towns with more vets are less expensive and have far better equipment than the smaller country town vets. I would happily put up my hand to look after any dogs on a short term basis in Tamworth, there are good vets here that are not overpriced and we are a larger regional town for many country towns scattered around the north west of NW and would be prepared to travel about a four hour round trip to pick up any dog, look after it, take it to the vets and return to it's owner. -
such a shame that you have branched away from oodles coz I wanted to put an order for one in I wanted a toy poolie thank you if you would reconsider. A coolie crossed with a toy poodle - such a good combination I'm sure! not! oh and I know someone wanting a fully trained quiet one year old cattledog as well that's guaranteed not to have any health problems so if you have a spare one of them? preferably minature coz they wanted a smaller dog. would you prepared to do a teacup golden retreiver that doesn't shed any fur as well? not much to ask, and they are my christmas orders - thank you in advance

yes my sheppard watchers my flox bye night :D I think we are getting a spelling lesson in advice and advise I advise you that I would take heed of Chewbacca's advice in relation to using advice and advise correctly

My vet told me the price she could sell it for, it was the same as online plus postage so bought from her ;) so I would ask them if you have a regular vet that you use
