I'd arranged for the first visit that I be at home when the dog washer came, however she had to come early and was just finishing up when I arrived home. I couldn't believe that the dogs let her in the yard and then let her take them out to be washed. At that time I had 3 dogs, my two golden retrievers and a coolie. But I guess it was the backyard and I was not in the equation. I think that my oldest coolie would be extremely protective of myself. He has done a quiet growl at people when I have been walking him at night time. Completely under control. He would act the same whether the others were there or not although I think that he would be very protective of my female golden retriever and coolie. I would not trust him with anyone physically confronting me. In fact when he growled at people he was 100% under control but I did not stop him doing it as at that time I was living alone. Onslow my large golden retriever surprised me once when my niece turned up very late at night. I let him out the front with me and his hackles were up and he was growling until Lissy said "hello Onslow it's me, Lissy", immediately the tail started wagging and he bounded up to her. Matilda-Rose another golden would be hopeless, she would look at the others for protection. Latte another coolie would protect me if she saw the others doing so. She, like a lot of coolies, can be a bit shy and she would assess the situation before going in. The griffons would be utterly hopeless

thanks everyone we did move her under the house - which is a well used area - fully concreted, and she seems less itchy than she did yesterday so fingers crossed. The two pups are doing very well, they are just fat fat fat slugs, huge but Mum has plenty of milk and there are only two of them. They have just opened their eyes, excitement of coolie litters is what colour are they going to be born and then the next excitement what colour are their eyes going to be :) the little black girl, Minnie, has brown eyes but her sister Mousie a little chocolate girl has blue eyes :D

thanks everyone she was in a kennel run out front away from the other dogs (she was able to get out during the day and would often come inside and spend it with us but checking on her children regularly) but now we have moved her under the house where the floor is 100% concrete. The reason we thought it wasn't fleas as we checked her very thoroughly. Thanks for everyone's help, some good ideas there :)

One of my housemate's dogs is extremely itchy with red raw patches. She has two pups, two weeks old. Anything that we can do to help Saphire. We don't believe that it is flea related, she has been frontlined. The dog is a German Coolie, with impecable bloodlines and breeding. thank you

Boarding Kennel / Doggy Day Care In Dubbo Nsw
Ons replied to vague's topic in General Dog Discussion
I lived in Dubbo over 10 years ago and used Merooka and thought they were great. They are owned by the same people that owned them then I'm pretty sure. I had a little cavalier and maltese then, always slept on my bed and were spoilt dogs but adjusted well to kennel life did a google and yes it's the same people :) -
gorgeous :)

Anyone interested in meeting up for a cup of coffee over the Easter weekend? Saturday afternoon would probably be best but the Friday and the Sunday are fine too. I'll be staying at Copacabana but do have a car.

 Stan And I thought Latte was clever this morning because she opened the pizza box that was on the counter, took the piece of garlic bread in it and ran to her crate leaving the pizza box still on the counter  But Stan beats that hands down

I'm one brave enough to vote that I would leave my dogs outside a supermarket but it was when I lived in a very small town, everyone knew they were my dogs, I tied them up very well (although I must confess one day some how Flash wasn't tied up at all but he just sat there as if he was) whilst I popped into the supermarket. If the checkout line was longer than normal, and we are only talking a couple of minutes, I used to just go and see if they were okay. I would not do it in a bigger town at all.

a cleverness of coolies a greatness of golden retrievers a gaggle of griffons

What Do You Feed When You Run Out Of 'normal' Food?
Ons replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
No brand sardines in water kept in pantry go via the butcher/supermarket and get mince, cook it up (or leave it raw) and add some frozen mixed vegies and rice chicken wings all the above are pretty cheap resources and pretty good for the dogs, you can keep the mince/vegies/rice in the freezer as you can chicken wings -
