  2. yes you can teach old dogs new tricks !! , i have... my first obedience trialling dog was 6yrs old when i began training him , and he was in the trialling ring by 12yrs old ! , he almost got his first pass in novice too, he was blind in one eye too ( on the side where he had to watch my heeling leg ). kelly
  3. My dogs just LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kangaroo Bangas ( sausages) , i grill them , than slice them into manageable pieces . Kelly

  7. Yes i experienced that with my female aussie , so now i am going to keep her on it and see what happens . Her coat has improved after being out of coat for 2 months , she wont be in full coat for royal . But least she will look better than being naked .
  8. i stay clear of can food , it makes my dogs poo too soft , to a point it gets caught on their trousers . So i feed dryfood ( high quality ) and freshly cooked meat , sometimes raw .
  9. I use it too , i am currently using NOW!! , to get my girls coat back . When it does come back it is lovely and thick . I feed purina proplan performance too and add the livamol for colour .
  10. I use the OSTER brand clippers , they have being really good as i do odd jobs for friends dogs that i use clippers on , as i have basic knowledge in grooming , so i am currently learning . Kelly p/s i paid about $ 600 - $ 700 for these clippers .
  11. mine get proplan , and raw bones . with food supps . and sardines . My female gets added Biloac Coat improver and Livamol daily. My boy gets Livamol daily . Kelly
  12. As i have found with insect repellants , the critters are becoming immuned to the stuff we use . kelly I have used combination of sentinel and capstar with success Kelly
  13. Mine get Marrow Bones , chicken carcasses and turkey necks . Also fed raw , if a hot day i give it to them frozen .

  15. Hmm ok , some dogs do become ringwise after awhile , i now that by experiencing it with my female aussie . You could try walking away from her and slightly look over your shoulder , and any sign of movement give a immediate " NO!! " ( in a growling tone , but must be sharp ! ), then reinforce the word " stay ! " . As soon as she stops moving go back to her and reward . Good luck . Kelly
  16. Does she do this in training at class ? , as if she does you could get the instructor to place her up if she decides to drop .
  17. I am incorporating " CLICKER TRAINING " now , i am getting results much quicker !
  18. i use the chain on my male aussie with great results , I use a flat collar with motivational training for my soft tempered female aussie with results ( she currently has a CD title in novice obedience and currently working torwards her CDX ( open obedience ) . They both get shown in check chains .
  19. Check chains are okay if used CORRECTLY!!! , go to a dog training club that teaches you how to use these correctly .
  20. I still administer 3 monthly all wormers and monthly heartworm tabs to my dogs , i dont like taking chances.
  21. I have much the same in the lead, collar and shampoo department :rolleyes:
