I thought puppies aren't allowed to do agility till there about 12-18 months old. I got told that it can cause alot of problems in the bones as there not fully developed. I am planing on doing agiliity with my cavalier king charles spaniel "Bomber" who is only 13 weeks old, I've been told he can't start training until his at least 12 months old.

hi everyone my obedience club i'm a member with doesn't do flyball i don't even think they know about flyball. So i was wandering how would one go about asking them if they would consider doing flyball? they already do obedience training and agility but not flyball. I would like to ask them if they would consider doing flyball aswell but wandered how to go about it.

my mum was saying something about going into the butcher and asking for off cuts. Would butchers pet mince be any better or not? I did ask the guy if it had preservatives added he said it was all natural protein.

hi how can you tell if the meat has preservatives in it i got a free sample yesterday and it was frozen so i let it thraw out and once it did there was alot of blood on the bottom of the packet, Does this mean its good or bad meat. Its chicken & heart from Count Dogula's they are selling it for $1.50 put are puting it up $1.00 so it will be $2.50 its in a tub like you get when you order chinese food the small tub. I can get meat from the butchers for $3kg but i'm not sure which is better.

Bomber does sratch around his neck alot but i think thats due to the fact his being feed meat roll.

i know most of you all are thinking that they need really good quality food but i was doing my maths and i won't be able to afford to spend $25 on a 3kg bag of dog food then having meat and bones on top. So i've decided i'll give purina one a go as this is what i can afford, Bomber will still get fresh chicken or beef mince and bones. I don't really care what people think as this is what i can afford. At least his getting feed a bit better brand then homebrand and isn't going to be straved to death.

mummytodakota a puppy at that age should not have full run of the house thats your first mistake i did it with my cavalier king charles spaniel. Now what i reckon you should do is confine this puppy in a puppy pen somewhere inside on tiled or an area that is easly cleaned. When puppy is confinedt with a bowl of water,his toys and bed take him outside to go to the toilet every 30 minutes. Take him outside straight after he has waken up from his nap 30 minutes after his had something to eat and drink and after play time. I gave Bomber my cavalier king charles spaniel the run of the house when i first got him 4 weeks ago i now have him confined to a puppy pen and haven't had much accidents inside since. This puppy needs training by you, Have you thought about puppy class and then obedience school. Its going to take time,patience,training and love of your part to make this puppy a well behaved dog.

No the only pet store around this area is Count Dogula's which only stocks iams,eukanba and hills science diet same with the vets around this area. The closest petstock is an hour and half away and my boyfriend won't want to drive that far for pet food.

now i'm reading Eukanuba dog food is bad all the pet shops and vets only carry iams,hills science diet and eukanba dog food. I'm now at a loss on what to do i do not want to order online as it cost more for postage.

can't even understand that website i do have a diasbility here i'm slow and find it hard to undestand some things that website being one of them.

I've decided to try Eukanuba and see how it goes i can get a 3kg bag of small breed puppy for $27.95 also full protein meat chicken $2.50kg or beef for $3kg buy 5 get 2 free so thats $13.50 in meat does this sound alright or to much. Doing the maths i'll be spending $41.45 in just biscuits and meat for 2 weeks not including bones which will add more.

i'm not sure if this is correct but Waltham makes both optimum and advance dog food according to the optimum website and the advance website. So if Waltham is making both of these dog foods shouldn't they be simular in ingredents and what not.

i'll search around tommorrow for some good quality dog food but i'm pretty sure the only one we can get is hills science diet is that alot better then purina one and optimum. I was using hills science diet with my golden triever i should really put him back on it 2kgs don't go to far specially when your on the pension.

HI just wandering which brand of dog food do you all think is better for dogs purina one or optimum or are they very simular (spelling).

i just rang the breeder he said he was feeding home brand dry dog food from the supermarket is that ok or should i stick with Optimum dry dog food.

Bomber my 11 week old cavalier king charles spaniel will not eat his own poo but dives on the cat poo all the time i just clap my hands say No so he drops it then i pick it up and flush it down the toilet.

his been getting those baby chicken drumsticks he absolutely loves them he finishes one in about 10 minutes.

the breeder said he was feeding minced meat and dry dog food he didn't say which brand.

thankyou huski i will get some Optimum puppy dry food this thursday when i get paid, Is it still alright to feed him dog roll at night or should i cut it out and feed dry food and minced meat with some grated carrot.

thankyou huski that has helped he was and still is being supervised around Einstein the attacks happened right infront of us , We said No Einstein in a raised voice as this works with him and sent him to his kennel. i've been feeding him pedigree dog roll. He seems to doing alright with it i did try him on vip but they gave him the runs. We have just got a baby cot and modified it for him to stay in that when he can't be supervised.

I know your trying to help poodlefan but some people seem to be judging me. All i'm saying is this dog is nothing like they say about the breed they say there intelligent,fast learners,gar to please i'm not finding this to be true with Bomber his the complete obbisite. I take him outside every 10 minutes sometimes he will go and sometimes he won't. He won't even go outside on his own i have to pick him up which then if he knows his going outside he runs from me. His a werid puppy he could have just gone to toilet and still come inside and do anyone. His got an endless bladder that never stops when his awake. When i take him outside to go toilet all he does is sit near the door, What has worked is keep picking him up and walking him away from the door, But sometimes that doesn't work specially if he hears the door he bolts in before you even have a chance to close it. If he does end up getting back inside before i even have the chance to pick him back up to take him back outside he pees or poos on the floor.

how can you judge me yes Rascal was my dog but he choose my sister he is still under the same roof as me so its not like he was taken to the pound or given away, He simply choose my sister or better yet he loves my mum more then anyone. I believe the dog chooses who it likes more and that just happens to be my mum and sister. I do not believe its healthy for any animal to be inside all day every living creature needs sunlight. This family is mainly outside all day anyway so why have a puppy inside all day when were outside almost all day. Yes Einstein had some problems and i did take him to the vet and he got blood work up for diabetes etc all came back negative. The vet said there was nothing wrong with his thyroid. The vet said he is completely healthy other then his bad heart he got from the paralisis ticks. I know my dogs all too well Einstein was just putting Bomber in his place which he has now and hasn't touched him since. So what your saying is dogs do not have any dominancy traits at all. If i remeber correctly dr harry cooper said the meat rolls were ok food for dogs, Not everyone can afford the real expensive food for there animals you know. So if they need very expensive food then your saying only the rich can own animals. I'm on the pension here so i have to be very careful with my money, I'm not saying that my animals don't get cared for they do but some people can't afford to waste money. Like some people rush there dogs or animals into the vet for something that they could have fixed at home, Vets aren't cheap people. I've spent over $2,000 on EInstein in vet bills and haven't regreted it were some people just pay $35 and get them put down ortake them to the pound. So what your saying is i'm a bad dog owner. I've came here for some help and all that seems to be happening is bad mouthing. Just say it rich people should own dogs and people on the pension don't deserve to own animals. People try there best to give there animals the best live they can some just can't spend thousands or millions to do so.
