Where To Get Meat In Brisbane?
oonga replied to New Age Outlaw's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
From this thread: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=156406 Good Luck with finding what you are after :D QLD Canine Country http://www.caninecountry.com.au/ 2/39 Station Road Woodridge QLD 4114 Canine Country at Woodridge:I recently got some of their Barf mixes and am really impressed by them,I only live about 3 minutes drive from Bigdog Petfoods but I still think I'd rather make the 45 minute drive to Canine Country to get their Barf mixes in the future. Big Dog Pet Foods http://bigdogpetfoods.com/ Unit 5 & 6, 3 Jacques Court, Lawnton QLD 4503 Bigdog Pet Foods at Lawnton:Good range of RMB's,Barf patties/minces and natural treats, although to be honest I'm personally not as happy with the newer barf patties Aussie Pet Foods in Caboolture:The best place I've found for the Kangaroo tails and Kangaroo meat chunks, that make up a large part of Bosco's diet. Jack Purcell Meats at Geebung:A HUGE pet food section for a butchers shop, they carry most of the stuff that raw feeders like to give their dogs (lamb hearts, livers and kidneys, beef hearts and livers, pigs hearts, trotters and sometimes half heads, chicken necks, giblets, chicken frames and minced frames, lamb shanks, lamb flaps and lamb brisket). You can also get stuff like chicken maryland, wings, drumsticks and bone-in-thighs,turkey drumsticks etc. from the regular section for really good prices. They also sell stuff like rabbit, venison and goat for the people who can afford to feed it. Morgans Seafood at Scarborough:Huge range of fresh fish.I get Bosco's sardines, salmon heads and salmon frames from here. Samie's Girl Seafood at Hamilton - near the new Portside district on Hercules Street, sell Salmon Heads for $3.00 each West Moreton Pet Foods 81 Glebe Rd, Silkstone, QLD 4304 PH: (07) 32811277 Jason or Tammy Big Gun Butchers at Underwood: Frozen 10kg (or there about) boxes of Turkey Tails and Lamb flaps. $20-$30 Turkey tails I think are little more expensive but they are HUGE! You will need a deep freezer. I get the box, partly defrost enough to break into smaller meals then refreeze. Busby's Pet Meat & Supplies Address: 35 Berserker St, Berserker, QLD, 4701 Phone number: (07) 49285138 Gold Coast Pet Deli 66 Bundall Road Bundall Qld http://petdeli.net.au/ A Northside Brisbane one is Chermside Quality Meats in the shopping centre up near Coles I buy 10/15kg box of chicken mince for nxt to nothing fresh then I bag it and freeze it into portions I wnt. I think they also have 1kgbags frzn cheap chicken necks and frames as well! I just ring and ask them for it and tell them a day I'll drop down and pick it up! Lotsa Pet Food in Woodridge are also selling a small range of Big Dog and they sell all varieties of bones at a good price. They also sell 12kg boxes of chicken necks. Their BARF is heaps cheaper than Dr B's with no grain in it. -
Nekhbet that is just heartbreaking to read

SecretKei's young son is ahead of you with this theory, he has put it into practice ...and so has my Mum if you read my last post She has run off to Adelaide with it at the moment, I wont have it back until the weekend. I might have to buy her one too! I have to say though, I think the humans are getting more use out of it than the dog yes but your son was the first to think of it pfffft if you think you will get it back before the end of summer you are dreaming :D

RIP Jordy So sorry for your loss Bokezu, i have been following this thread, although i have not contributed to it, i have been hoping Jordy would recover
-
Bossy boots :p Found them!! Well i didn't But his Apple did Though now this gives him more reason to try and convince me that I NEED an Apple laptop so when its hot i can hang out in the lounge infront of the air conditioner, instead of in the hot study! Mind you of course it has to be a specific Apple laptop, not just the basic one!! Yup its definitely ME that needs that laptop not HIM!!!

Oh I am at work now but I thought David somehow managed to recover those photos months later Maia was also cheeky to wait until Nellie or MrR dropped a toy then quickly picked it up & took it to the deep end. Though Nellie & MrR were much happier with your attention & the broom
-
I just had a flashback to the day we went to Kepala with the 3 dogs and David took those photos Nellie and Mr R, you building drive with the broom While Maia swam along and collected her inventory of toys

Glad your Polar Pad arrived in time for this next bout of warm weather Oonga. I am sure Maia will appreciate it. And you will love your Polar Collar also. My website and email address had a small hiccup (something to do with the server) but is all sorted now. ... and there is definitely something wrong with my end... too much yummy food and not enough exercise, Been down to the river recently?? I must join you some time. Jag and I went to the pool yesterday, and even though there was no other dogs there, he still scrambled in by himself. It looks so funny. He jumps in with the front legs, then bottoms out with his tummy for a few seconds while he eventually gets his back legs in also. I figure there is less chance of him hurting himself by scrambling in than if I am trying to lift him over the side, and he will not use the ramp to get in, not without a fight and me getting some help. He gets out well on the ramp now though, so that makes me feel a bit better. ;) ahhhh good glad your hiccup is not all fixed hahahaha and in regards to THAT end well lets not even go there with mine :D Yes we just got back from the river, It was nice and breezy there and a few boats went passed so Maia did her surfing swim in the waves they created LOL We would love you to join us one day :D Its going to be warm the next few days ;) Not that it matters with Maia she swam in the river or the dam at the wetlands all through winter ;) Jag really adores the pool its fantastic to hear!!!!!
-
:D I got the cool matt!!!! Just in time for the hot next few days we have forecast here!! I also got my own cool collar Dyzney I tried to email you to let you know i had received it but the email bounced back I think there is something wrong with your end.... well it wouldn't be my end of things ;)
-
This thread will tell you more about the cool collars I have ordered one for myself as well now so i don't have to keep stealing the dog's one LOL http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=179815

Your son is one clever boy!!! :D Last night we were saying it would be good if they made like a sheet for bed to cover with on these really hot nights but that would be heavy too, so a sheet to lay on might be the better option Dyzney thanks for the response in regards to going in the river with the collar on
-
Dyzney, another question i keep meaning to ask is when my partner walks to my work to meet me with the dog, she is wearing her cool collar will it be ok for her to jump into the river that is on part of that walk? It is a salt water river. Or if he lets her run off for a quick swim is he better off taking the collar off and then putting it back on when they have passed the river? I know you have said it doesn't absorb urine, but wanted your opinion on the river please just also thinking now will it keep expanding as it absorbs water and maybe be dangerous if it gets too tight for her??
-
actually no i hadn't thought of how heavy it would be  but you are right at least i would be cool :D
-
hahahah yes well i thought hmmmm it would be great to have some wrist bands, then something for my feet, then i thought what the heck a full body suit would do just great :D I mean we have thermal underwear for winter
-
OK so i have stolen the cool collar from the dog until my own arrives. I have had it around my neck, and then around my forehead... think Xanadu LOL its brilliant!!! I love it!!! :D Dyzney do they make an entire body suit? now that would be unreal!!! oh and the dog did have it on in the car on saturday and we noticed she was not really panting like she normally does on a hot day in the car
-
Well done Secretkei!!! at least you saved on postage by getting it all at the same time Gosh that is hot on sunday!!!! Thankfully its not that hot here yet!! I just had a look at that site, it didn't have sizes for the dog collars but then i didn't bother too much as it would have worked out to be much of a muchness as what I got mine from Dyzney, but without the hassle of overseas dealings
-
Damn oonga, don't give me MORE reasons to spend I'm already BROKE this week! Come on payday! welllllll you don't need it right now! But wouldn't it make a nice Christmas present Just in time for when the brunt of summer kicks in ohhhhh and i just thought i can see myself sitting on this as well to cool off or resting my feet on it
-
Wolfgirl that is really promising considering Bear spunk has a longer coat AND he is black!! Secretkei I hear you on the NEED factor I am justifying that with how good it will be in the crate of the car, outside on her trampoline bed & even inside so it will surely get lots of use ;)
