  1. Thanks for the link Staffy Luv. Just what I've been looking: one's on the way! All the best Libby, Larry, Lola & Lucy
  2. LizT so sad when you lose a little buddy. I've grieved and grieved when my beloved puss-cats died. I still miss them, even 6 years down the track. Just as there's no such thing as "just a dog", there is absolutely no such thing as "just a cat". You loved Beau. You miss him. Hope you will be okay?
  3. Yes to all of the above. But hey - isn't it amazing that, just for once the "Two Dogs" invovled ain't (mis)named two pitt-bull/staffy X ...
  4. Okay so I do prefer speeding doggies to bikes, but these are just a little bit good too :D Thanks Kirislin -always enjoy your shots.
  5. Dear Tess So very sad to hear your news. Flash was such a lovely lad and so similar in his coloring and cheeky expressions to my own much loved Larry. Sending you love Libby, Larry and Lola
  6. Thanks Pollywaffle. What you've written is all too familiar, especially the part about your collegue being "generally a lovely person". But it's not right is it, that we DOLers are the exception to the rule? As I sit here writing I can hear poor Socks going off: manic barking. His owners are home - not a peek out of them ... Socks is just left to bark and bark and bark
  7. Oh Mim That's bloody awful, and sounds all too familiar
  8. Yep you've nailed it. It's heartbreaking stuff.
  9. Thanks Sally, betsy and rascalmy, Yes it is heart-breaking. It's really helpful to know that you understand how I feel. I do have a very good relationship with Sock's owners. Yes I have talked with them about Sock's situation. I do walk Socks and have him over here for play time with Larry and Lola. But in the long run they are unable to accept their inabilty to meet Sock's needs.
  10. Lovely dog - 3 yr old kelpie/border collie- full male. My neighbour's dog. I've known Socks since I first chuckled over his endearing puppy stuff, watching him through my kitchen window. Close bond with hin and his owners over 3 years. BUT his owners, however much they "love" Socks, just aren't up to caring for him properly. They have 3 little kids, all under the age of 5. They don't have much money to spare. They don't have much time/energy/motivation to spare. Socks does not get walked. Has minimal interaction with his pack. Doesn't get fed properly (left overs seem to be his main food source). And while he's never been yelled at, never hit his mistreatment is neglect He has spoken with his paws - broken, numerous times through the fence to be with us. On and on it goes. I just don't know what to do anymore. Please - has anyone else had to deal with this kind of thing before?
  11. Thanks dogmad! We went to the vet today and hopefully have sorted the poo-problem Libby, Lola & Lola
  12. Hi all Hope someone can help me with this. Lola , 7 yr Brittany, has started poohing in the house. Both dogs are fed at about 5 pm and no food after that. Both dogs are taken out to pee and pooh before we all go to bed. Why over the past few days has Lola started poohing inside? Any ideas? Thanks, Libby
  13. Hi Kirislin ! No sighthounds: Lola is Brittany and Larry's a Britt/BC cross, and neither of them are quite so spectacular in full flight as the Bozois or Wolfies or your Whippies. Lola however can more than keep up with her whippy pals down here in Geelong :D All the best Libby Edited to say WOOPS . We're talkin' deerhounds not wolfhounds and borzois not bozois
