I've talked this over extensivly with my vet he feels Ailsa should be fine as apart from her teeth she's in pretty good health. Her teeth really do need done, her breath is awful. I do feel a bit guilty that we didn't get it done a few years ago but it has got a lot worse quite quickly. She has never had a teeth clean and she is after all 18. She's a very spry little dog and is still up for a long walk with the younger ones. My Jack Russell at 15 is a lot slower but he is a boy.

Does anyone have experience with older dogs and General Anesthetics? My old girl (18) is booked in for a dental work next week, she really should have been done a few years ago but we put it off due to fear over the G.A. . She has had an abscess and she was in some pain but the antibiotics and pain killer seem to have relieved it now. I'm just so nervous for her, it's been giving me a few nightmares.

I'm pretty sure that in petshops puppys and kitten must be over 8 weeks of age. I think most responsible breeders would also abide by that rule. Very small breeds such as Chi's and Poms should in my opinion, stay with mum until 19 - 12 weeks.

That is so disgusting, some people keep their dogs in the worst condtion its so unfair on the animal. I did a peke on Saturday that had ton of stuff caught in the mats leaves, part of a elastic band and a half chewed lollie. Worms yuck poor pups.

What Shampoo Will Make My Dog Smell Delicious?
4pups replied to Sally's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use Aloveen but I'm not that wrapped in the smell, the condtioner is really excellant and the small does last last for some time. I've also tried squirt - don't like it but I dislike coconut smells (too many bad memories of suntan oil). The shaompoo that has the best smell IMO s Fido's White and Bright and Lustre Aid spary has a brilliant smell for a quick freshen up. -
Thanks guys Geez, it's really expensive, is this the most expensive commercial dog food ever?

Does anyone know who stocks this food in Sydney?

Yes we feed sardines in oil twice a week. If I leave off for a few weeks I notice a vast deterioration in thier coats. I've bought the sardines in tomatoe sauce by mistake before - they like them too

4pups replied to Perry's Mum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Wehad a big problem with hotspots this year, but the curash powder works really well especially if you can get to it before its too big. -
