  1. yes that is probably the only thing i'll miss about this place - weather updates!
  2. you guys talk a lot would anyones misfitting cool coats fit Ari? She's 65cm tall at wither and long in the back but slim as! i'd love to know if someone tested out these ones also if it does leave the coat damp to touch? she doesn't generally feel the heat too much but might be good for her. someone asked about Kwinana... the park is for dogs as well. i am sure it's all off lead... we've had ours off lead there before (last year charlie rounded up a bunch of kids playing footy - oops) plenty of times and i've been going there for about 18 years!! it's always my beach of choice, but mostly because i prefer the quieter beaches... it's one of the only places i can let James off and the beach itself is soooooooooooo nice. I've never heard of this Riverton park either, but it sounds pretty good!! Also happy to drop in on Mirawee oh yeah, and I look out onto a runway, but since i just quit my job last week, soon i'll be listening to the sounds of leach hwy in welshpool! (no idea if i have windows yet!)
  3. hi all Paddy is gorgeous GR - i can't wait to meet him i also can't believe how big Strauss is!! There are a couple of off lead beach areas with BBQs... one is Kwinana (probably too far for most of you) and one is right near freo (just a teeny bit further south). The second one is a massive and fairly shady grassed area with a bbq, two covered seating areas with teh beach 100m away (dunes in between). The other alternative if we want a BBQ is to go to our usual piney lakes but just take all our bbq stuff over to the family area then take it back with us to the dog area? Well done to everyone at the royal Poor Ari had a sucky day but she was sooooooo well behaved she made up for it
  4. wow... to the absolute morons who are stupid enough to take their dogs to a show after losing a litter of pups to parvo... shame shame
  5. that should be on their breed standard "also known as the Dulux Dog"...
  6. GR they are Old English Sheepdogs... that's the blackest they'll be, when their coat starts coming in they'll likely go several shades of grey while their coats come in - adult coat can end up being all different shades, but mum and dad are this colour
  7. hey guys Pics!! I got heaps more but i havent uploaded them all yet...
  8. v.nice Valley - red and blue! yes dozer is a cutie, but a pushy little cow who likes to push others off! she knows what she wants i suppose
  9. yes! photos - i'll get some up later today - i'm coming home and relaxing after a long couple of days Valley no bobs - the breeder has never seen a bob in her line ever so it was not much chance there are some very nicely marked babies though with a lot of potential. I have my favourites so it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. there is one little girl - the fattest of them all - who takes after charlie! We call her dozer because she just busts her way through anything to get what she wants.
  10. Hey all Thanks for the birthday wishes - sorry I wasn't there MOnday night - I was scheduled in to assist with some puppies who decided to make an entrance on my birthday So, Charlie's first litter was 9 babies (10th didn't make it ) 6 boys 3 girls and all doing well. I am puppy sitting right now and they are oh so cute
  11. for the english setters it was champion tails whitening shampoo and conditioner for the OES it's Dazzle Dog and sard wonder soap for the tough stains.
  12. Oh no the poor Berner I hope she is found a responsible home btw, Valley is now affectionately known to Ari as "the beef lady"...
  13. no riverside for me.... unexpectedly working this saturday and yet another dulux promo on Sunday!! I recently went to yellagonga for a weim meet - it was great... the park is huge, we went to the northern section but i like the part off of ocean reef road... whatever we choose i'll probably bring sorrell she is the best with the little dogs
  14. Mas Spartan gets Natural Balance not Nutro unfortunately - he woudln't be able to have the Nutro because of the chicken fat (to this day for the life of me i cannot think why they would add a completely different fat/flavour to a specifically flavoured biscuit ) however before natural balance he had Advance turkey and rice which i think did have some chicken fat/flavour in it and he seemed to do fine on it... i found the alternative in natural balance however if i didn't have that i'd be feeding advance... if that's the case, perhaps Mason will be able to tolerate a small amount in the Nutro biscuit. You can only try it and see, like everything else!!
  15. Just the Wellington Surplus Store Oh yeah I forgot about that! ;) I'll keep it as a last resort - would rather not deal with the crowds and parking, blerk. And Kathmandu and several others as well ;) Hey, I just don't associate the city with camping okay I need cheapie shops. Apparently they only pay to have them on until 9pm Ahh i remember back when i was a rocker who wore Docs (ok i still do ) Surplus stores were the best place to go for well priced doc martins ;)
  16. i'll aim to get there as early as I can, but seeing as it's my first time down there i am not much going to know what to do so i'll just keep a lookout for someone i know
  17. it's so true GR - spartan was on it for at least 3 years before he was well enough to come off it. I worry all the time about what it might have done but he doesn't seem to have had any adverse effects... yet. Again, what good is it for him to be extremely itchy and suffering just to avoid side effects later on? i was lucky that his treatments worked so very well and that he only this year is looking as if he needs some relief after 3-4 years of little to no treatment...
  18. i agree that 10% sounds like a fib, but by spouting off numbers such as this and pointing out "breeders selling illegally over the internet and in newspaper ads" is only going to put the heat back on registered breeders once again, because no doubt we'll be heaped into the same category as those who do sell multiple animals over the net or in newspapers...
  19. Mas spartan is miserable with scratching ATM - i think it is actually worse this year all around... spartan hasnt been this itchy since about 3-4 years ago when he came off cortisone... it makes me sad i might have to resort to it.
  20. seriously? i don't get home from work til like 5.45!
  21. emery good luck on the new job and congrats to you and your hubby!! :D Valley I'll be there tonight with Ari the Agility virgin ;)
  22. A very good read and one everybody could learn from... however if the article is two years old I would say not much has changed since...
  23. I really like the way Perth royal is set out with group days rather than different breeds from different groups... i hope they never change it!! I am so glad they keep most of the classes too although I wish they had Aust bred cos my girl is in Open for the first time since she is now over 36 months!! where does the time go?!
