-
Hey Wazzat seeing as I only know 3-4 words in spanish and how to count to 10 i don't think i'll be much help... unless you want names such as "spoon", "give it to me" or "give me a kiss"!

The theme for Ari's litter was 'U'. It seems there are a fair few weimaraner breeders out there that just go through the alphabet... i got U and it wasn't that easy coming up with something! My other choice was "undaunted". GR it's probably spelled Supa because you have to put in more than one choice for a name in case it gets rejected... maybe "super" was rejected. Other dogs I've had - sparky was a "silver" theme. She was Silver Sparkle. Our litter of weis even though it wasn't our litter we had it at our house and the breeder let us pick a theme. we chose Herbs as there are some really pretty herb names... and that is how Tansy came about. They were "Wild Tansy", "Lavender Blue", "Penny Royal", "Sweet Basil" and "Angelica". Of course back then you didn't have to register every pup and so only lavender and penny were registered. Spartan was "China" (plates not the country). He couldn't have Royal Doulton which was the first choice so he got Lladro instead! James I was allowed to pick... it had to have something to do with hammers or gold... i couldn't come up with any hammer names, so his was "Aces Gold". Charlie's babies litter was a Dulux Paint litter (my idea!)... basically just had to choose the name of a dulux paint colour. Char is Trail Blazer! Charlie's litter will be a Spring theme...

Hi all Just a real quick one... i'm hoping someone remembers... Tehre are a handful of shows in each state of australia where you are able to qualify for Crufts... in WA it's the Western Classic I think... Does anyone know which crufts you qualify for? for example - Western Classic is held in Feb or March every year - so does that make the dog eligible for the following year? (wins BOB in 2011, eligible for Crufts 2012?) Thanks Andrea

no more news on char pups... but i'll definitely get to see them soon - i can't wait til they're up and about!
-
No idea... I had two ideas, both of which now to me seem boring!! I've even considered the whole A litter, B litter C litter thing, and letting pet people choose their own names, but for my first litter i want it to be all mine!

right i'll start... Weimaraners I think are relatively healthy as a breed... a lot of breeders work together and we have access generally to new blood very often. There are a great deal of people within the breed that work the breed in the field and i think that it proves their ability as a whole, even if not everyone works their dogs. As a general, i'd prefer it if there was more focus on the fact that the breed should be moderate, and that breeding extremes in angulation may cause issues in the future. English Setters well... I'm a bit out of the loop with them but an overall improvement in the genepool would be great, and some openmindedness to lines and looks from all countries would be wonderful. Improvement in fronts of the american lines, and improvement of rears in the UK lines. Skin issues should have more focus for the English dogs, and breeders in the UK should be more open to sharing their knowledge with those who seek it. Less focus on coat in the show ring, with more on sound conformation and movement. OES i'd like to see less sculpting... I'd like judges to be able to do what they are meant to and feel what's underneath - consider presetnation but not make it the be all... I'd like to see breeders encourage new people in the breed. I'd like a focus on getting the tail right, without putting too much emphasis on it. Acceptance of the tail from everyone would be wonderful... I'd also like to see more focus on better fronts and getting rid of that rotary movement in the rears that has started popping up.

how i miss living at home lol
-
luckily my bank account doesn't have enough money in it to give in to clean run... my dogs, on the other hand, are not so lucky since they are not thoroughly spoiled like the rest of the WA DOL dogs!
-
our breeds are constantly changing... lines come and go, focus on different traits happen over generations, grooming requirements change, even the way a dog is handled and stacked can change... What would you like to see change, what would you love to see come back as a focus for your breed? What can definitely be improved upon as a focus for the breed?

I'm jealous too! i miss my Jamie boy when he's gone He's hilarious when Ari comes in - he does that crazy happy dance in front of her and she looks so bored! Here is something really cute - i keep a spare pair of PJs at my mums house in case i stay over. the other day my mum put them in the washing machine to be washed. She didn't turn the machine on yet. she went to work and came home to find James cuddled up to them! he had stolen them out the machine! now that is cute

She is so adorable! How come she is at your place? She came into season, so i have two in season at my house and Faolmor gets james on Saturday (llucky her!) when my mum leaves for Singapore. I refuse to believe that it may have been ari who helped aneira come in...

gosh you guys talk a lot!! i haven't been to Chatters in Ages... i used to go to the Morley one all the time, and they DO have great food (i'm currently thinking about mee goreng!) I'm happy to go anywhere but we haven't quite decided yet... i might have a look in the entertainment book also - there are heaps of restaurants in there! then i'll do a poll in the dol meets thread.. James was run with Spartan from about 12 weeks of age... mostly because spartan chose to ignore him and because English setters are not rough. Ari was in a crate for a while before she was run with the others....maybe 5 months. Tiggy she is beautiful!! GR those puppy photos are adorable. I saw the OES babies on Sunday. a couple of them are starting to open their eyes and at two weeks the biggest one is 1.2kg. i still have my two favourites and i can't wait to see them again at 6 weeks! I also have a visitor at the moment - i temporarily have my very own redhead - and one that has seen more of the world than i have! still, photobucket won't let me upload her photo so you'll just have to wait!

it's not that exciting RS i'm going from a marketing and admin role to an admin and marketing role :D i actualy prefer admin side of things so i'm happy!! LOL @ Dulux... i should be on their payroll Yep LM is Large Munsterlander ;) I may have talked someone into getting one (and it being white with flecks has nothing to do with it, or the fact that it was on my one day list!) hey guys maybe we should do a bit of a christmas windup thingo what about dinner out somewhere? what was it like at the greyhounds last time - any good? or we could all meet in the city for dinner? might be fun! (we can still do a doggy meet too)
