My dogs can be "breedist"... Ari doesn't really like Labs, and both James and Ari really dislike black SBT... Spartan hates any dog that snorts a lot... LOL My cat was fine with most dogs... but she absolutely freaked when she saw my sisters OES for the first time... admittedly, MOST animals and even some kids freak when they see Charlie, including dogs cos they just don't know what he is.

Starshollow I could be wrong (someone else will confirm that!) but i think if your puppy is already registered (had the papers) you can enter the show under your breeders name... (ask the breeder to send your entry?) i did that when I was waiting for the papers to come back and I wanted to get an entry in for a show. This was a while ago though so things might have changed. You do have to be a member of DogsSA if you want to handle though.

mason that's a lot for cats!!! Gosh I think I must be crazy thinking about importing in the future...

that was through a transport agency whom were amazing and I'd recommend them anytime (PM me if you want to know who!) however when I called to get a quote directly from AAE it was double the cost... ONE WAY!!!

omg too cute

CareyJ see if you can find someone coming across at the same time as you are flying the pup - costs a lot less as excess than unaccompanied... Ari cost me over $1100 return trip unaccompanied to Canberra (this was recent and she is an adult - cost you a lot less for a pup!!)

you know your dog best Mas!! just from what i read thought it might be the case. If he is stressed and his immune system is being upset, he may show some signs of sickness, just like his hotspots may be caused by the stress.

all the new rising stars in here are just stunning!!!

Mas I'm sure he's just trying to settle after a bit of a crazy weekend. His pack structure was upset and he just needs to settle back down. The best thing you can do is act completely normal and treat him no different because of his anxious behaviour, because if you do that you are only feeding it. Try and go back to exactly how things were last week in the house. Same routines, feeding patterns etc. He'll settle soon as he realises that his owners are relaxed and happy.

Ptolomy that is so cute!!! makes me sad I missed training... not that I have a dog to bring down at the moment!!! Spartan is in deperate need of a haircut and James is at my mum's house... Ari is home last night and has some left over yummy smells which James won't give up on, despite her telling him to bugger off!! I'm very glad my bitchy is home House was a little too peaceful and quiet without her!!

Mason I believe stress can cause issues with the immune system which is probably why he has had a return of his hotspots. I hope that this can soon be cured. Please don't be too discouraged about getting another dog. Certainly if he is happier as a one dog household (which some dogs are) then don't get another, but if you do feel YOU are ready for another dog, and you are ready for a puppy, a good breeder will match a puppy to Mason's temperament.

I can ask my friend who had some where she got the enclosed ones from

tollersowned I keep my bitch with a desexed male and they are fine. He was entire until the age of 5 but doesn't bother with her (he was never mated though). I don't know about dogs with the superlorin injection. You can get your bitch some pants I bought mine from better pets and gardens but I've seen them in a few places. it has an insert where you can put a liner in. You can buy the liners as well but I just buy ordinary panty liners from the supermarket. In the past, we also used a regular pair of underwear with a hole cut for the tail with a panty liner stuck in there. depending on your bitch this might suffice (if you think she'd be bothered by it the bitch pants might work better).

Yes I am now considering goats milk for possible (but hopefully not) supplementation and also weaning... Can anyone tell me if the Long life Goats milk is ok to use or does it have to be fresh?

Glad you asked this question as I am also curious... A friend of mine swears by Wombaroo
-
you can also get some which are totally enclosed at the bottom - we use them for OES when it's very wet. Not sure where they came from though but they are very similar to above.

Well you keep telling the RSPCA that and the Uni of Sydney. Still waiting for that line of response to work and for them all to see it your way. I was simply pointing out that they are doing something, regardless of why it's done. At the end of the day purebreeds will always be in the public eye and portrayed as bad because we are the only ones in the public eye... I was simply trying to say that we DO care and I'm not sure about your response... I was responding to someone else...

Never easy rehoming a dog... even if it's the right thing to do. Ari is also away at the mometn. My house is quiet, calm and relaxed... but I miss her so much!! Good luck at the Poodle Nationals!!! GO WA!!!
