  1. joelle there used to be flyball but as far as I know, there isn't anymore... FLY-BALL RS, yes I wasn't laughing much at the time, but it's such a spartan thing to do I laughed later on
  2. not sure on the rest of it, but just so you know, you can buy ColesMyer vouchers - the two companies kept the combination available after they became separate entities. The questions you had to answer are interesting... be interested to know if it is legit.
  3. weiz Sabi looks great I was shocked too when I saw the pic on FB you posted. I looked at Ari who was around the same and thought she looked tiny in comparison. She is a maiden though I guess. Good luck for Sabi I'm sure she'll have some gorgeous bubbas!!
  4. I recently toyed with this option myself, however i chose to send my maiden bitch over to the dog (from WA to ACT). The stress of timing it right and the process of organising chilled was just too much and the risk high... however the stud dog owner was there so i didn't run into the issues you face of being overseas. The dog was proven but a younger male. lucky for me the matings were successful. I think given the option again i would still choose to fly if viable... my bitch coped quite well and Weimaraners are known for stressing/anxiety but she was fine at the other end.
  5. Emery big to you. I am very sorry you are going through this right now particularly without your hubby around. I recently had a bit of a scare with spartan who had a lump I was not happy about. I avoided saying anything to anyone because it was just easier for me. Thankfully, spartan got the all clear last night - the lump isn't anything sinister and he had a full check up with nothing much to worry about except some antibiotics he got for his skin to clear up some areas he's having trouble getting over. Stay positive everyone - I feared the worse however spartan has proven once again that he plans to live forever. And to top it off, he pulled down an entire container of dried kelp this morning, not for the kelp, but for the container it was in. I found him happily chewing the container while the other dogs were treading all through the kelp. Made me late for work
  6. all mine are from the east. Just a reality in WA that if you want certain breeds, you have to look interstate.
  7. Lol emery she was being a bit stupid on the grass - she is loving rolling on her back lately so it was getting the pic without her moving that was the challenge, as she was rolling around like a nut!
  8. I tend to agree with RV here. The question is are you ready for another dog, without taking into account what Mason may need? It may also be wise to sit on it for a few weeks, and watch Mason closely. A few test runs with indifferent dogs in his home might be a good test. Could Mason be feeling under the weather or depressed for any other reason? Do you definitely think adding a puppy will make him happier? Is he simply getting used to the change of being home alone for longer, and will he, eventually, get back to normal? I think, at the end of the day, it's your decision to make Mas, and you have to make it not just for Mason, but for you as well ;)
  9. erin Abby is just gorgeous I don't know much about Beagles but she looks to be a stunning example of the breed. Congratulations on what you have achieved with her so far. You should be very proud.
  10. piper i was lying in bed last night and it suddenly clicked I called Jazz Piper!! yes, I think about DOL when I am going to sleep at night!! anyway, so I'm sorry, I did mean Jazz!! I have been told if she puts on too much weight not to worry as diet can sort that out later once the puppies are weaned, so I woudln't worry too much about excess weight. i wasn't that happy as Ari has a fair bit of excess weight on her ribs but my breeder told me not to worry. I'll post the new photos of Ari soon.
  11. I am fairly organised... I just spent half an hour unfolding and piling up newspapers while Ari snoozed in her whelping box. I have all the blankets and towels in a plastic container ready to go, the "incubator" is full of towels and hot water bottles, the spare kettle is set up and all my supplies are set up on my grooming table. I've checked that the torch works, and have a spare. Checked the batteries for the scales, and have spares. All my supplies are pretty much set up the way I need them. I am waiting on a few more supplies to be delivered and I'm hoping I'll get them this week... the only one I really need is the stuff from SwaY's site cos it is the calcium sandoz but the other stuff isn't so urgent. Im a little annoyed that i cant seem to find any beef liver which I wanted to have on hand just in case. I'm borrowing a camera from a friend who has a GOOD camera, and she'll bring it with her as she is assisting with the whelping. The bed is made up in the room right next door. I am fairly sure there are things i am forgetting but no doubt that will come up right when i need it :eyeroll: I still have to buy some snacks for the humans I took Ari's photos this afternoon and her belly is very round and dropped - she has her waist back! I'll post the photos tomorrow How is Piper doing?
  12. That's poor - and I hope that Charlie is no worse for what he had to be subjected to!! Hopefully it will not happen in the future but if something like that happens again i would not be afraid to speak my mind, pick up my dog and leave.
  13. PF as always, makes good points here. Lambo when you got your pup were you aware that Weimaraners need consistent training and consistent leadership? There is a very fine line between a nervy weimaraner, a balanced, relaxed weimaraner and an overconfident, pushy Weimaraner. Start by doing some research on finding a good obedience club, research fear periods, and socialise your pup (as poodlefan said, in a controlled environment with calm, gentle dogs). Do not introduce your pup to dogs that are not calm and social with other dogs. Given your weim is already a little nervy i would avoid desexing for now. you also need to be aware that without training and socialising properly now, your dog may end up with fear aggression later, and this will not be fixed by removing his testicles.
  14. how are the bella babies doing today murmarstaffs?
  15. I agree with what others have said, and i wouldn't desex a male weimaraner in particular until after 12-18 months personally - and i would still be basing that on individual growth and development. Is there a particular reason why you do not feel comfortable waiting a bit longer to desex?
  16. Thanks Aziah - I think she's doing it on purpose to freak me out
  17. Freaked out a bit this morning... Ari's temp recorded at 36.9 when i took it first thing... it's been recording a steady 37.4 for the last 4 days. anyway, i thought maybe it was because she had been up already and it was cold where she was... because I left the flyscreen door open for the OES last night. I waited until she'd eaten her breakfast and been outside to toilet and re-took her temp and it was back up to 37.4. My OH is home with her today so I've told him to keep an eye on her, go outside with her, and to call me if she starts behaving unusually... but with another week to go I don't think (hope) we will see any action.
