  1. I hope it goes ok today MG :) Awesome thanks for the headsup WX I don't have a neuter but I show two neuter weis whos owner really wants more neuter shows.
  2. I read something on a Wei forum this morning that really rang true to me... so... a condensed version... Weimaraners are hunting dogs. The behavioural issues and concerns that regular owners have with their Weimaraners are probably the traits that, when utilised correctly, Hunters look for and encourage.Be prepared to get a dog that may have all those traits, and be prepared to deal with them. If you can't or don't want to, don't get a Weimaraner.
  3. erin check out the dogzonline profiles you'll see the types of shoes people wear with skits. I wear light slip on runners or the ones with the strap that have a grippy sole. You can even find some good colours now besides black or white.
  4. I think they just said cocker spaniel in the movie... so american i guess?
  5. My two I think are coming in pretty soon... I hope not but I know they'll come in because i am away and it's just what they do (come in at inconvenient times!) Quite funny MG when you talk about Gibbs innocence - JT got to see Zora for a bit when she first came in (completely supervised of course!) and all he wanted to do was play with Lulu, however Zora had other ideas by showing JT exactly how it was done
  6. Mine all love the nylabone... probably the dog that it was the biggest hit for was my sisters Old English Sheepdog... only problem was once it was chewed for a while, it used to get stuck in his coat!
  7. Dont get an English Setter if: *you don't want to be ignored when you ask them to do something they don't feel like doing *if you want a dog off leash and to have a reliable recall all the time (see point 1) *you don't want white hair all over your clothes, house, car, garden... *you want a good, easy to train obedience dog *you can't stand drool *you don't want to brush a dog don't get a Weimaraner if: *you don't like velcro dogs *you don't like smart, headstrong dogs that require leadership firm but gentle *you are lazy *you can let down your guard and let things slide now and then *you want an outside dog *you want a dog that is outwardly friendly with strangers *you don't like velcro dogs *you don't like velcro dogs *you don't like velcro dogs *you don't like velcro dogs
  8. it depends how far you want to go with your training... I think Northern Suburbs runs classes you can work though - as a club you pay your membership and then you pay for your classes and work up through each class, and you choose how far you want to go.
  9. well done Emery I enjoy the Bunbury Open show and I usually go but I'm winding down from shows before my holiday :) Mas I hope everything works out and you get to the bottom of the issues with Gibbs soon.
  10. Flaves - she has SUCH soulful eyes... adorable!! Emmalee is adorable Liz!
  11. I have a bitch that does it (more so on the floor inside but did once do it on the dogbeds a few times!) about a month out from her season... every season, it's the only common link as she doesn't do it any other time. I've asked her breeder and she's not heard of this before, so it's something Special that Ari had in mind for me
  12. GOOD LUCK Weisnjac!! for you that Lucy will give you some greybabies in March!
  13. asal if you PM me with some details of the missing pups, location last seen and a contact email address (not everyone members of the forums so may not come here with info) i could put it up and ask people to "share" most of the time, those sorts of things "go viral" amongst the dog fraternity and it's seen my MANY people all over FB.
  14. no help here but I really hope you find them soon I'd be happy to 'share' on FB if you put something out.
  15. Tansy had a lump quite a way up on the top jaw of her gum... it had likely been there for a while, but we didn't see it until one day when her mouth started bleeding... certainly taught me a lesson as I always check my dogs mouths for changes now...
  16. Tobster if she treats him with a spot on as a precaution at least if it is anything it go away with treatment... but as far as i know there is nothing else really that I can think of in WA... we do have ticks but not the dangerous kind... RS So glad Millie is home and big cuddles for her. By the time we caught my girls mouth cancer it was a decision of having to remove half her jaw for her to survive... my mum didn't want her to go through that and sadly she was only 7.5y when we lost her. I'm so glad you have caught this in time.
  17. AP and Megan - yep I'm sending the bloods straight to Jean Dodds... I figure why bother getting initial tests done when i can send them off and get full results straight away. RS Glan Millie is up and about!! it's always scary thinking about them in surgery...
  18. MG James is having bloods taken - I suspect Hypothyroidism...
  19. I clicker trained my older girl to walk and hold her own front - i'd place her rear legs... you can train it all with a clicker working on one thing at a time.
  20. RS will be thinking of you and Millie today! When it rains it pours right? James' turn is next week ... poor spartan has a very sore patch on his tummy from his food reactions but other than that I'm not seeing any other allergy reactions, thank goodness.
