  1. Would a same set of rules work everywehre though?
  2. Congrats AdamD! Frankie is looking lovely. I wish you every success on all your breeds!
  3. it said that their son was into obedience and showing :p as far as I can tell, there is nothing to say they AREN'T members of their controlling body and that they are registered... they appear to health test and surely not registering amstaffs is a bit of a stupid thing to do anyway?
  4. What law would they be breaching that would require breeding records?
  5. I got some boots for mine very early on when they were a fairly new concept... they worked well and stayed on but spartan never got used to them. I got them for him because of his bad allergies - in fact his breeder sent them to me from Vic. they helped for a whilebut spartan used to run everywhere in a panic for at least half an hour before he got used to them.
  6. I wanted to change my name to my prefix once i got it but i love my name too much now and don'twant to change it!! I use it on other forums as well (mostly dog forums though!) and i have used my prefix on one forum but can't get used to it!! i love your new siggy!! very arty ;) Love the horse pics mirawee! does anyone know anywhere in perth that you can take herding breeds just to see what they can do? I thought about doinng it with the OES as he tends to like to round up stuff and thought it might be fun for him... but i don't know where to start looking... :p we got about 10 minutes of fat rain on Saturday afternoon... right after the massive stormwhich caused a small fire close by. at the time i was outsidein a puddle of water bathing a sopping wet Old English... I love storms but that one was MUCH too close for comfort. It frightened Charlie, and it freaked out poor Ari for about an hour. Anyway, waiting out the storm put us back about half an hour and I didn't get charlie to the show on Saturday night which sucked... i can't wait for our next show!!
  7. Wally looks as though he has an alter ego with his new smooth haircut!!
  8. The problem is also the judges that dont want to disturb that great grooming LOL Like the grooming has intimidated them showdog this is exactly right I have found this to be an issue in OES. the OES profuse coat means you can only see so much during movement. YOu can see correct movement yes but sometimes grooming in all the right places causes an illusion on the move. any judge that doesn't go over my OES except to lightly touch the coat I don't enter under again regardless of their placing. I have had it happen several times wehre they are too afraid to flatten the coat but to be honest the flatter the coat when i come out the ring the happier i am at least i know they went over the dog properly!!
  9. I'll be at the classic Saturday and Sunday nights... Weim and Old English both nights...Valleywa you are welcome to sit with us again if you like - that way when people seek you out I can meet them too!!
  10. sadly, valleywa, i haven't really won anything except a mug which would probably be more suited to the worst prizes you have won thread.. so, I am hoping to live through other peoples wins
  11. i am thinking of starting obedience classes with the OES as well... He hasn't done much before but i am wondering what class to stick him in... i think he could be suited to advanced beginners? at least he knows how to STAND i guess!!
  12. OK well, a little while ago there was the thread about the worst prizes people have received, but it got me thinking that there are a LOT of clubs that put a lot of thought into their prizes... would anybody care to share their very favourite, wouldn't part with for the world, gifts? Feel free to name the club if you wish!!
  13. zayder asher Kwinana beach is fairly quiet... it can get busy but it depends what time and day you go... always busier on weekends but not like some beaches.,.. might be too far to go for you though not sure where you are.
  14. Lovely pic Valleywa!! RS yay for whinging!! I know exactly the teacher you are talking about... Mr Hesp. He also used to like holding his chalk like a cigarette and peer over his glasses... he was also having a fling with one of the other teachers although I cant' remember who!! Ihave the details for the retrieving PM me your email address and I'll forward them to you. I am the same as you though... now i have titled Ari i am focussing on obedience but so much of retrieving applies in obedience or vice versa... it just seems to take a lot more work but the mistakes are just as unforgiving!!
  15. All the more fun Amypie? Do you remember Mr Thompson in science RS? He is also a well known showie and was the president fora little while before he relocated to SA.
  16. Meh - you aren't old RS!! ahhhh now i am trying to think of some funny teachers so we can laugh at them!! BTW RS,are you going to the retrieving days in March in Guildford?
  17. btw valleywa there is a post for you inthe chessy thread... plus i think both threads deserve some new pics of your gorgeous Lincoln!!
  18. Mirawe what a shame you lost the paperwork!! if you ound it again you should just send it off!! ha ha did you tell them you had the paperwork? I would have said that you sent it in and that it was their fault they misplaced it ha ha ha evil.
  19. Ceilidh i used to do this for the setters but for the OES i'd be spending all day putting the dog in bands LOL
  20. That is the one I always went to, mum still uses them. Ivy had her 16 weeks vaccs there hehe. Though now we tend to go to a small prac in Manning but they have clinic cats eta - when is the best time to book Ivy in to start night schooling at the canine assoc? we just want to basic training. she's a smart dog so it's really just for something to do and people to meet does anyone else do night courses out there? Ivy - have a look on the CAWA website there are lots of classes down there on weeknights... I go to southern river club on Monday nights... usually a lot of people down there which is what you want. Some of the other obedience classes are alot smaller in size but seeing as you want one where you can meet lots of people, Monday nights might be the go for you. Classes usually start at 7pm and the new term starts at the same time school starts. RubyStar - i graduated year 12 in 2000 - you?
  21. oh just have to add - i am also from Thornlie - I lived in Forest lakes for most of my childhood!! I hate people that speak badly of Thornlie like the whole place is full of derros... people take a step sideways when you said you went to Thornlie High (ok slight exaggeration but that may as well be their reaction!). I liked where i lived and it certainly wasn't a bad neighbourhood. My sister, who also grew up in Thornlie, and now lives in Karrinyup when she isn't living in Singapore (where there is NO crime!) thinks its "scary" coming down to Thornlie now... i mean seriously... it seems the "snob bug" bit my sister good and hard.
  22. I have a messy OES too AS... potato flour is a wonderful thing.
