Blade Sharpening Recomendations
Fudgie Dog replied to shells's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Many of the groomers I know use Clipper World for blade and scissor sharpening. I agree with "luckypup" and avoid Charlie the Clipperman as his work has gone downhill and the blades dont last. -
ellz are you sure you purchased from clipper world? I purchased one from them and the height was not adjustable and it came with a grooming arm that could be attached at any point on the table.

Contact Clipper World they have it at the cheapest price I've found. www.clipperworld.com.au

But without the oil I find it quite noisy. I brought the wahl km2. If you oil before and during use, wouldn't the fur stick to the blade? The noise is the clipper over working. One of the main reasons for oiling is to minimise the load on the clipper. If the blades do not move freely then the clipper drive and motor will wear out prematurely.

The blade needs to be oiled before, during and after you clip. Before storing or finishing for the day the blade should have any hair removed by moving the top cutter to one side and brush the hair. Do not remove the top cutter or unscrew as this will affect the adjustment. The blade should then be washed in blade wash or metho and then dried with paper towel or use your dryer. After washing, the blade should have oil applied to the top cutter teeth and the back edge. Oil should also be placed on the plastic guide/groove on the top cutter. When clipping and the is clipper running apply 1 or 2 drops on the top cutter teeth every 10 minutes. This time is only a guide as the blade size, the type of clipper will affect the oiling.

Unsure About Food - Any Help Welcomed
Fudgie Dog replied to staffylovers's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I purchased my staffy from a breeder in Wangaratta and she put together a staffy care booklet, which was a great help. It had all tid bits of info about staffy personalities and there likes and dislikes etc.. Staffies want to be like us, they would eat anything that we eat - or at least that is what my boy tries! You can not let the dog dictate to you what he wants. If he is hungry, he will eat. I know that it sounds cruel, but the same principals apply to children - no dessert if you don't eat your dinner!!! Fudge was fussy when he was a pup, but this was becuase we were feeding him to much and he wasn't getting hungry and we then had to leave his feed there for 24 hours before he finally decided to eat. This process went on for a fortnight and now, he licks the bin out every night and then tries for more! I will try and scan the booklet I got and email it to you, so you can have a read.
