is yr pup still on cortisone??? and how long has he been on it?? i second ernys comments or rinse with apple cider in rinse ater.. i would avoid medicated shampoos etc unless there has been an actual skin condition identified.

human antihistamines work on dogs.. but the npon drowsey ones are the leats likely to help in an emergency situation. benadryl is best for emergencies hiuman and dog --as i discovered when my skin son has a massive allergic reaction to 'something" and passed out just as we arrived at the hospital... medical staff explained that benadryl is best for those emergencies cheers helen

maybe a cooling mat???? i made several for Lucinda.. would keep one or two in the freezer while one was being used. in the pens.. a fan blowing across one would reduce the heat considerably and she used to enjoy lying across them. H

she is gorgeous... what are her faeces like??? i had a dog with pancreatic problems and he was always thin and his poop was sort of greasy looking and greyish. then again as she is aged maybe some digestive enzymes added to her food may assist with her agining a little condition. rip sweet Wilma.... my heart is aching for you all.. sending many prayers and gentle tummy rubs for diesel. Have you tired acupuncture for pain relief at aLL? My old girl sophie survived all her life with severe joint problems.. and we managed to keep the heavy duty NSAIDs for emergencies with the judicious use of acupuncture. blessings to you all H

i too would be concerned that this is more than a simple nose bleed. I would be seeking a second opinion sooner rather than later. my dog morris had immune mediated thrombocytopenia which caused nosebleeds and internal bleeding.. with thrombocytopenia clotting is normal but the bleeding is due to lack of platelets. have you tried a cold pack on the nose??? eta: http://www.helpmyhound.com/symptoms.php?ds=219 cheers h
