  1. Blanket ban is my vote, avoids confusion. One weekend out of the year (every two for my breed!!) Is really not that big a deal.
  2. You and me both, MM. I told myself i wasn't going to miss one again and look at this!! Damn work, must you always get in the way?? Anyway, good luck to everyone, especially Labs and her show team!! I shall be there in spirit. It's a fantastic show and i would expect a big turnout being over in Sydney.
  3. Well in that case, congrats to you!! I look forward to you BEING THERE
  4. Oh, are you going Gotta? I was thinking I would go, but if you are heading along...... I will bring my new pup to meet you You had better otherwise you will make me sad. I can't guarantee puppy will be leaving with you though..... A Rotten one I hope???
  5. I shall be there with a couple of Labs this year, so who else??
  6. I shall be there on the Wed with Labs, most likely Monday for Vizzies and Sat for general specials also. If, like last year, i took the week off from work, i could be there several more days too Adelaide Royal time makes me feel like a little kid again. I'm getting excited just thinking about it now Baby puppies are on a seperate day ( Sunday), like the Melbourne Royal i believe.
  7. I do disagree with you, Blackdog, on the comments regarding who to sit with. I do have numerous people i can sit with at any given show, but usually choose to sit with a bunch of Lab people that compete against each other and are non the wiser when the other wins or vise versa...No politics in that tent. Each has the mentality that the opinion of the judge is just that...An opinion. If the judge doesn't award your dog on the day..Don't show under them again or whatever pleases you. Great atmosphere at a show here, I really enjoy it and don't necessarily have to develop the "thick skin" that you mention. Sure, i'm not saying that politics is entirely absent, but luckily here it's kept at a minimum. I am pretty sure any newbie coming into our breed, would only need to see the divide that breeds tend to develop between the people involved and realise that they would have a hell of a time enjoying showing.
  8. How do you expect new people in the breed to stay for the long haul, when things like you have just mentioned, happen? I doubt it is the best environment to be mentored in or to learn about your choosen breed, especially when all you see is bitching, slandering and the likes. It's little wonder why our sport is slowly declining.
  9. I want a frenchie now...They are too cute!!

    Tyson

Im so sorry, Pandii RIP Tyson
  11. Don't like them at all. I dunno if they changed hands a couple of years ago as the previous vets i saw were so much better.
  12. Me too. Bloody dogs.. I'd have to go down the shops for another packet... and lock it away. I remember once coming home from work and opening a packet of Tim tams, only ended up eating one before i had to go back to work ( I work split shifts). I then came home later that night, did a few things and then remembered about the Tim tams. I spent the better part of the night looking for them, thinking WTF, i don't remember eating them all ( although i have been known to eat a whole packet in a sitting ). I went to bed quite disappointed, still wondering where my choccie biccies went. I never ONCE thought of Kobi, as he had never counter surfed in his life. But sure enough, I walked out the back the next morning, there was the empty tim tam packet, seemingly licked clean
  13. Adolescence would be one of the most difficult challenges facing a new gundog owner. They are later to mature in mind than a lot of breeds and people need to be prepared for that. In saying that, most are highly trainable and are hugely sociable.
  14. I am so sorry, Griff. Thinking of you at this time RIP Sinna

  19. Thanks everyone. I thought i would expect some sort of a change, now that hormones aren't driving him to do as many male things. I just didn't know how far 'habit' goes, with or without hormones. Guess i will see soon. And that aint gonna happen, Morgan
  20. Hey guys. I will be getting my boy desexed in the very near future, its time for him to have the chop  I'm wondering what behaviour changes I can expect to observe from my dog, who has always been a real "male", if you get what I mean. Anyone with past experiences would be helpful.
  21. Hey guys. My friends girl has just come back from having X- Rays and its possible that it could be Osteoarthritis. She has been given Deramaxx for it, i thought maybe i could get some info on it from people who have used it before? All i know is that its an anti-inflammatory so I am not much help She has read up on some of the possible side affects and to be quite honest, after i read them, it kind of put her and me off wanting to use it. Any help and past experiences would be appreciated.
  22. I am so sorry for your loss, CC. He was a beautiful boy
