Just thought I would give the thread a bump! My girl got Minor in show today at the specialty! Very exciting.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys, I knew she was special to alot of people, but the amount of support we have had over the last few days has been overwhelming. I just miss her so much and I want it to stop hurting so badly. I cant even sleep in the bed because she was the bed-dog. The room is too quiet without her snoring and farting. Its not fair

Gherks, the pug with the individual name everyone remembers. Came into my life November 2007 and at 13 days old, picked you from your litter of 8. Little favourite. Meeting you again at 5 weeks, you were a real little pugger then, big girl eating from the eating circle, then all running away to poop at once Nanny didn't know you were coming home, poppy did though and took off, so when I walked up the backyard with you behind my back to Nanny who was pegging the clothes, Saying, Uh mum.. 'This is my new puppy Gherkin!' and running away yelling "dad said its ok" cemented that you were staying. Puppy preschool, beating up the 12kg Shar Pei puppy at a whopping 2.6kg Going 'boating' in a big plastic container in the swimming pool and getting to that big gangly stage, you definately werent a baby for long enough. Too stubborn to be crate trained, you were definately a bed pug. I think the only time you used it was when you were desexed, after you did a huge anaesthetic piddle all over the lounge and there was nowhere else to sit! You grew up way too fast and before we knew it your first birthday had arrived, having your own party complete with a pink iced cake. Always up for an outing and some extra attention, you were oh so patient when I made you a pink tu-tu for doggy day out Everyone loves a pug in a beanie We moved in to our house, You welcomed your new 'little' brother Sparky with open arms, even when he tried to dominate and hump you Astronaught pug last easter, nobody else could get the egg box stuck on their head except you berky - takes someone extra spethal to manage that task. Nobody loves bathtime like the pugger Then you turned 2, and had a replica of your gorgeous self made for your cake. Had a fantastic christmas a month later, unbeknownst to us, your last. Glad we made it extra special, toys galore, a new sandpit, new harness. Gherk Im so So glad i decided to look through your photos tonight, after crying all day, it made me realise that even after you left me SO quickly today, that you had the best life we could have given you. Love you Thorpie pug Mum.

I dont like small kids at dog parks, We have 4 dogs, two who can be boisterous and bouncy, especially with small kids. one is scared of kids. Our local dog park is a corner of a huge park that borders the lake. We have had a close call with our boy, little boy was playing soccer with his dad (I think the kid would have been 2ish?) and Sparky thought he could go and join in, as we take a ball to play soccer with him when we are there. The dad picked up his kid, we apologised, he was fine with it and went to the other end of the park to play. Could have ended up very messy because Sparky could have knocked the little tacker out.

We are heading to the Aussie specialty with Sammy B on Saturday at Erskine Park

Neither Sammy or I bite, we camp together and most likely will be gazebo'ed together, make sure you come and find us!

Mine love the 4legs roll, they just had it for breakfast, I buy a roll every now and then for something different for meals, my old girl loves it and from the moment it comes out of the fridge she screams until her bowl is on the floor.. could be another reason they dont get it often! :D

I agree a trolley isnt a necessity. I have a coated breed and I dont have a trolley, My OH and I devised a make shift one that cost $10. Take One piece of ply, the size of the top of your crate, take one drill, line up bars on crate and mark holes, drill into corners of ply. Cable tie ply to top of crate Tada! Instant grooming table, with somewhere to put your dog!

Im another who needs all the practice I can get with handling, but I think we are slowly getting better.. We are out in the backyard practicing most days or at the park... We are getting there nice and early because there are only two cattledogs on before aussies, plus we are in sweepies.. but will get there and set up where the tarp is, thanks for saving the spot!
