  2. Here is Hapipet get Off Of My Cloud or Toby. He was the bully of the three. BB
  3. Here is Hapipet Thunder Child or kaycee. His ears should be up soon. He is a sweet puppy.
  4. When you are finished with the Rottys & Schnauzers come over & say hi my breed is judged the 19th Sept. BB
  5. Early in the day there may be some one patrolling the dog area but they don't really enforce the rules, eg dogs must be on display. The PA system in the dog benching area is not very good so you can't excatly hear what is being said, so unless you or some one with you or next to you checks what is going on in the rings then it is quite easy to miss your call at the Melb royal. Why can't they employ some one in a Uniform to go to the dog benches and tell people that such as such breed will be judged in approx 10 minutes, then they can escort the exhibitors to the ring through the crowds. Surely a teenager wouldn't doing that for some money?? BB At Brisbane there is someone that walks around (for some of the day) and makes sure that dogs arent covered up and that all trolleys in the walk way are folded up. I dont understand how people are missing there call I only have Brisbane royal experience to go on but they usually call ages ahead of time and you if you can see what its going to be like getting to the assembly area so go down closer earlier. Atleast then when it is time for you to go to the assembly area you are closer down have as many people to fight to get past.
  6. The rules say Must be benched & in public view at all times, BUT there is no one there to police this rule. I say do what feels right for your dog. If you can tell it is grumpy then keep it on the bench & away from the publics hands. Many times I have had to stop the public from coming under the rail to pat my dogs while I was sitting next to it and say No he is tired or whatever. Most accept this and go away. I know of several people that have their dogs in covered trolleys ALL DAY and not on display for the public. This was mentioned to the secretary in the dog Pavillion and still the dogs were not put on display for the rest of the day. BB
  7. No we do not have KC. I have looked on the VCA rules & regs pages & also the ANKC site and there are no definate time frames as to how long a dog must be quarantined after showing the first symptom.I have asked several vets and each one suggested keeping the dog/s home for different length of times. One said two weeks after they have stopped couging then they can go back to parks & shows etc. I understand that if they got a severe case then it may take longer to get back to normal health, energy level etc. If you got it in Aug Flaves and he has now stopped coughing couldn't go the speciality in October? Thats a four week time frame. BB
  8. I like the second last one with the front paws crossed over & a sweet look on its face. BB
  9. I hope she makes the link easy to find on the web site, sometimes their RESULTS page is hard to locate. BB
  10. I googled this breed as I never heard of it before and came across this paragraph. Health With a life span of ten to twelve years, Shikokus need to be properly taken care of, like every other dog. Health is a big part of the Shikoku's life, because dogs such as these suffer from common sicknesses when not given the right things to eat, or not getting enough time outside . Common sicknesses in shikokus, happen in the bones, joints, ears, muscles, and nerves. Disease also occurs from things such as trauma, and infection. Other more serious issues relate to heart, lung, digestive, and urinary problems. If kept healthy, Shikokus can be the most brave and loyal companions a person could ask for. Sounds like it could be a delicate breed of dog and the words IF KEPT HEALTHY, sounds like a weird set of words. I agree look into the Shiba, Akita or perhaps a smaller version the Swedish Valhound. BB
  11. Thank you everyone for your help. I will pass on the info to my sister. BB
  12. The wolfman was game throwing himself in between two wolves that were going to fight over the dead carcass. Hopefully I don't miss part 2 next week. BB
  13. Hi Everyone, I am posting on behalf of my sister as she is not on DOL. Her & her partner have several children and would like to add a Labrador to their family. Does anyone know of a Labrador younger than 2 years old, cream/yellow or black, male that needs a home?? They live in melbourne and can't afford to fly one from Interstate. I have suggested to her other breeds (not saying theres anything wrong with labs.) but she wants a Lab. I am giving her links to the breed page on DOL and to the Vic Club. Thanks. BB
  14. Does any one have any grp 7 results from today? Thanks BB
  15. More passes would be good, so one person can go to the loo etc & the other watches the dog. Close the doors to the public for lunch. More space between us & the public. One can only hope th RASV will consider these things. BB
  16. Try a rare breed. SCHIPPERKE Low maintance, virtually no health problems, doesn't need a whole heap of exercise every day. Great with people & kids. Only two colors to pick from black or cream. Shed once or twice a month so a brush at this time reccommended. No DOGGY ODOUR. BB
  17. Good luck with the lead training Cavalblaze, I'll be doing that shortly. Why can't they be born already toilet trained & lead trained? I gave my three their first bath today. Kaycee was a superstar as he barley moved in the water. Now the other two kept trying to leap out. :mad BB
  18. I have Bridgid in Baby sweeps at the same time, and was thinking now who do I get to take the old girl in? Now thats no way to describe your mother. :mad :mad BB
  19. Sounds like you guys have alot of fun at these events. I might give this one a miss as we are judged at the royal on the 19th and I'd hate for something to happen to Ziggy before then. I will have to try for the one in October, no major shows for me then. Have fun guys. BB
  20. Well, our bully of the litter Toby will be leaving for his forever home on Thursday. I'll miss the little guy adn I'm sure he'll miss the others. He will be the only pet for this couple so I am sure he'll be spoilt. BB
  21. I'm sorry I don't have any room available. Doesnt the VCA have some one available for emerganices? And they can give your cousin some assistance/advice? BB
  22. Thanks for letting us know. With all this rain lately it will be good to show indoors away from the rain. Not that I have shown much this winter. BB
