  1. Ooops didn't look at Box Hill TAFE properly. Perhaps ask at your nearest UNI when they have Open day if they have any short courses? I know Fairfield has a house for students if they come from far far away, you may have to stay on campus if its a long way from your home? Centerlink may be able to help with AUSTUDY? BB
  2. I am starting a TAFE course into animal companion studies at NMIT-Fairfield. I did look into the one at Box Hill, sounded good BUT a bit far from my place and the TAFE site looked HUGE and I didn't want to risk getting lost most of the time. Good luck BB
  3. No idea on the casualities But the secretary had a heart attack and had to go to hospital in the ambulance. Floor too slippery, wonder if it would of been better going bare foot in the ring?? I know your not supposed to. BB

  5. No idea on whats on offer or what schools are in QLD. here in vic I am just about to start TAFE and do Cert 3: Companion Animal studies. heres the link if your interested: http://www.nmit.edu.au/courses/search/no_keywords/all/fairfield/animal%20studies/all/false/5/0/1 I did start a correspondence course many years ago but then the company went bankrupt so lost my money and found that some other correspondence courses wouldn't give me credit for the work I did previously, even though they sounded like the same. I couldn't find any courses at TAFE in melb relating to Just Grooming. Perhaps approach a TAFE on Orientation week and ask what they offer & how to get in. Good luck in your search. BB
  6. Was a great day on Sunday. was better without the locusts like last year. Yes floor was too slippery, I noticed some bigger breeds being gaited at a slower pace so the handlers wouldn't end up on their rear. Thank you to BBJ for holding my dogs while I showed another. You were very helpful. Didn't get a chance to check out the market, did many people go & what was on offer? BB

  20. I thought I heard that Boxers are quite friendly towards other dogs. Are there any health tests that they should be asking breeders about? Generally whats the average price for a Boxer? BB
  21. Hi All Knowledgeable DOLERS, My cousin called me and said since I know almost everything about dogs (yeah right  ) he wanted some advice. His "friend" has a 7 year old male, intact boxer. His friend would like to get a playmate for this dog. They are thinking another boxer but female. Would they get along or would the male boxer not get along with another boxer at this stage? All I know is that it is friendly with people and on walks wants to say hello to other dogs and is not agressive towards them. Has not been to obedience classes, was taught to obey commands eg sit stay. Don't know where they got this one eg reg breeder or BYB. Forgot to ask about de sexing. Or taking new dog to obedience lessons. Not sure if they want puppy or slighly older. Are there any health tests that the breeder should be doing that my cousin should be asking about? Any advice you smart people can give would be great. Thank you BB
  22. last year at this venue the ground was covered on locusts/crickets, even made their way into peopels bags that were on the ground. Hopefully they aren't too bad this year. Last year there was a joe public theif pinching ladies wallets from their OPEN hand bags that were left on trolleys. BB
