Rip My Sweet Kitties, Forever Part Of Me
rastus_froggy replied to jaybeece's topic in Rainbow Bridge
RIP kitties, I'm sure they knew how much you loved them to the very end. Such a beautiful tribute and gorgeous pics, I especially love the one of Ari leaning down to Caesar's ear. -
Sorry to hear this, hugs to you and your family. Run pain free boys

Yuck gross but here are 2 other suggestions, maybe you could lick it yourself or just apply maggots to it, they are also meant to help

Give Your Dog A Cuddle Today
rastus_froggy replied to Miss BeRidgierent's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have just spent the last 2 weeks running Pets at Peace CW and it does make you realise how lucky you are to be able to go home and be able to give your precious ones big hugs. My poor dogs have been wondering what's going on they have been getting hugged so much. Cuddles to all our pups. -
Hmmm, sounds like my BF:o I was driving home on Saturday afternoon and spotted him walking up the street with his dog on lead in one hand and a beer in the other. He finds it very relaxing to go to the dog park up the road from our house and sit there having a coldie while his dog has a run.

These things happen, I'm sure we can all wait

Nothing really useful to say, but maybe stick your dog on a plane and she may be able to help dig those poor miners out

Anyone Else's Dogs Do This?
rastus_froggy replied to Vickie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I am in love with your whippet. Stimpy my little one takes her bone into the shared kennel and wont let Chevy (who weighs 5 times as much as her) in!! Hence no bones on cold days as Chevy will be forced to sit out in the cold. -
What a wonderful dog. Sorry to hear of your loss.

One day while walking a whole bunch of birds flew out of a bush scaring the crap out of Froggy, so I always sing her the song "Why do Birds Suddenly appear?" To me that's her theme song

HA I like the look of those toys, I think I will invest in some. What I look for in toys for Chevy: frisbees that are super tough and don't crack - but are not made of material, he doesn't like them. Slightly deflated basket balls, just enough so that he can hold onto it. He is good and does not chew basketballs up or even put holes in them, but when Froggy steals them all she wants to do is put a hole in it. for Frog: anything soft, anything hard, anything that she can try to destroy - ANYTHING can become a toy / training tool with her, she will offer any behaviour you ask for and many more that you have not asked for just so that you will give her a catalogue!! (or any piece of paper) for Stimpy: um, what's a toy??? are you trying to tell me that there are things in the world other than my mum??? We were thinking of getting a staffy ball for Chevy so that Frog can't destroy it, so I borrowed Teebs' and it's a no go, as the other thing that we have to look at when getting toys for Chevy is the noise he makes when playing with certain toys, he gets the loudest staffy talk going on when he plays with it, it nearly sounds like someone is torturing him at times. It's the same when he plays with coconuts, he loves playing with them, pushing them round with his nose and would do it for hours but someone would end up putting in a noise complaint for sure.

Bought A "tumbler" Compost Bin
rastus_froggy replied to fiveplusone's topic in General Dog Discussion
I wonder if what you feed your dogs makes a difference as to if the worms like it or not? I really don't know but mine that are in the dog poo with just a few kitchen scraps are breeding prolifically at the moment, there are millions of babies in there. -

rastus_froggy replied to fiveplusone's topic in General Dog Discussion
I had read that if you add kitchen scraps in with dog poo the worm 'prefer' the scraps and therefore won't do anything to the dog poo. Maybe I will just chuck it all in with some worms and see what happens! I have 2 worm farms, one that the dog poo and some kitchen scraps go in and another that just kitchen scraps go in, the worms go nuts in the one with both, they breed far more than the one with just the kitchen scraps. Having 2 works great for me as I feed the worms out of the dog poo one to the fish and axilotils and the castings out of that one are used in my flower gardens and I use the castings out of the kitchen scraps one for the vegi garden. -

Have You Ever Had To Ask Your Dog...
rastus_froggy replied to moosepup's topic in General Dog Discussion
One morning I walked out to the lounge room to find that during the night Stimpy had decided that she was a bit cold and got into the pillow case while it was on the pillow, it was very cute just her head was poking out. -
I'm glad you dog is ok, it is a terrible gut wrenching feeling when something like that is said. Just shows you how precious they are to us.

2 of my dogs were from the pound, I first saw both of them in the dumping pens out the front (3 years apart, not at the same time), I regularly walk past there, as well as often going in to the pound just to have a look. As deserving as all the dogs in there are I don't fall for every dog, I just know when I see the one. Both my poundies are amazing dogs I have had many people tell me that Stimpy is the ugliest dog they have ever seen, but honestly she is the most loyal dog I have ever met in my life. Both came to me with no background history but had the regular issues that people just couldn't be bothered working on like digging, chewing, pulling clothes off the line and escaping, so they just dumped them instead. My other dog was from a rescue and he came with MAJOR issues that I was never told about and the rescue knew about, so do be careful and ask LOTS of questions.

Should Aggressive Dogs Be Taken To Offleash Parks?
rastus_froggy replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
I went to a leash free park yesterday (with my dog on lead), usually I will not go to this park as it is notorious for incidents, but a friend who takes their dog there regularly and invited me out, so I went. While there I met a whippett who had been attacked there some weeks before, it required surgery that cost over $600 (I don't know if he paid it or the owner of the attacking dog) and yet he still returns to the park with this dog I also met a large cross breed who had recently (at the same park) "accidently" grabbed a small dog (supposedly thinking it was a ball) and started shaking it violently, don't know what happened in the end to the other dog. But this large dog was off lead at the park while I was there! People were throwing balls and there were little dogs everywhere, this dog did not have a decent recall and the owner really was not that phased about what had previously occurred! So to me NO everyone just stay away from these leash free hell holes dog parks. -
Me too, I saw a catahoula today but it's not uncommon for me to see him as it was at my friends house who owns him He is a great dog. At the park to today I saw a brown lab (yeah I know not uncommon) but she was the most stunning REALLY deep brown, definately the darkest brown lab I have ever seen.
