  1. I have never watched the show before but I was flicking channels last night and saw the chi bit where he was trying to give it the tablet (not sure what had come before that) but the way he went about it was terrible. He obviously knew it was not going to let him put it in it's mouth, why didn't he just tell the owner to do it or he could have put the tablet in some food rather than provoke the poor little thing more. Go back to selling singlets bonds man.
  2. Wow this dog just continues to amaze me!! She has really formed an incredible bond with Chloe and it is showing in her work.
  3. I am not sure on what my limit would be, I was in a very difficult situation a few years back when my Stimpy got sick with a mystery illness. Her regular weight is 7kg and she got so sick and refused to eat, she got down to 5kg. I was paying out so much money and they just didn't know what was wrong with her, they did all sorts of tests, I was starting to wonder then if I was nearing my limit. I was in a very difficult situation financially at that stage, and wondered if she would ever get better. I just kept extending the limit on my credit card and eventually she did get better - although they never found out what the problem was. Then it happened again a year later. I just did the same all over again, just with more hope that time.
  4. Must say I have never experienced this, I have the exact opposite with one of my dogs. If I walk out the front door to go to the wheelie bin (about 6m from my door) then walk back inside she greets me like she hasn't seen me for months .
  5. I have the perfect solution to how you can stop her from toileting in your house, and I guarantee it will work 100%, send her to me!!! She is SO adorable.
  6. I am attending her week long workshop and if we want her foundation notes we have to pay $50 - just a warning incase it's the same for you guys so that you can be prepared. I am sure they will be well worth it though.
  7. Froggy's best friend is Sam a guard dog at the local scrap metal place, he gets a present every year, usually a HUGE thigh bone. The owners were very shocked to see how Froggy and Sam got along so well, as Sam doesn't like most dogs. It's kinda funny as the scrap metal place is next door to the pound and one day the pound people were trying to get a little terrier X out of the after hours pen and she escaped on them and ran into the scrap metal yard, they couldn't catch her so they left her there, no one ever came looking for her so now the scrap metal place has 2 guard dogs Missy the little terrier X and Sam the rottie X
  8. My Staffy Froggy was a bit over a year old when I got her and she was SO active and full of energy. Every time we were out walking she would jump up on any brick fence no matter how high it was and walk along the top of it, if there was a gateway along the fence she would just jump over it and continue along the fence on the other side, I thought this habit of hers should be put to a good use so I looked around until I found a club that did agility. At 7 and a half she still jumps up on all the brick fences and raised surfaces we walk past and if it has a slope off the end it's just a bonus as she gets to practice her contacts. Stimpy jumps up and follows her along too, I'm sure people think I'm crazy walking along with 2 dogs on fences So I guess I got into agility because it's what Froggy wanted to do
  9. Lappiemum she is adorable, she looks like she has been rubbing her face in ashes then wiped her eyes clean
  10. They have drop off pens. I went in last week to see if he was still there but they had 2 rows closed off and they had heaps of people in there so didn't get to ask if anyone had been in to claim him.
  11. This is my Stimpy, I have had so many people tell me she is the ugliest dog they have EVER seen, someone even said she looked like a bat earred rat. I think she's beautiful and she is the most loyal dog I have ever owned to the point of worshiping the ground I walk on and honestly I wouldn't care if she looked like a squashed cockroach I would still love her to bits.
  12. I was so excited when I got to meet Pep on yesterday it was also great to see Chloe playing with her on some of the agility equipment, they work so well together!
  13. My books were waiting for me when I got home just now!!! Gotta go eat lunch and do some dinner reading
  14. I borrowed one from Teebs and I have the same problem here, our staffy X loves it but talks to the ball WAY too much for me to leave it out with him for too long, also he pushes it around so much his nose starts to bleed.
  15. I am also auditing for the five days - but my dogs are coming along too though as my bf is away over the weekend and I would rather have them with me than kennelled. She does appear tough doesn't she? But I guess she is all about being 100% accurate.
  16. Just wondering who's going? What days are you going for? Are you auditing or are you working? And are there any other nuts like me who have already started packing ?
  17. My dogs rarely bark, so at 1.50am when they went absolutely nuts I nearly sh!t myself. I flew out of bed opened the back door - still half asleep wondered what day it was and if I had already had the weekend or if there was still a day to go- and Chevy was running from one side gate to the other. Then I went to the front door and there was a large tan dog just sitting there, he was the spitting image of my boy who crossed the bridge last year. I was in shock, I quickly put on a trackie, half expecting the dog to wonder off, but no he was still sitting there. Then I started to question myself, I thought I was going crazy and just imagining it all, I really thought it was my beautiful boy - RIP Buddy - his big round brown eyes looked right into my eyes and into my soul. I placed a lead around his neck, his markings, his shape and his eyes were identical to my boy, he jumped into my car so willingly. He has very grateful to find a bowl of water on the back seat to quench his thirst, then I dropped him off at the pound. It was so hard to get back to sleep when I got home. It has just shaken me and still this morning I have a strange feeling in my belly, but I am glad that this boy chose my house to come and sit on the door step of, but why did he have to look so much like my boy? It has awakened all the pain of losing my big buddy. At least this dog didn't keep roaming and get hit by a car or anything like that. I hope his owners go find him at the pound, he was a great natured dog.
  18. Maybe also try changing the texture of your targeting object, maybe your dog doesn't feel safe on the book, perhaps it has moved a little bit and given the dog an unsure feeling about putting the second foot on.
  19. If the books are bigger than expected I hope what we have paid for postage is enough, if not please do tell us as I am sure everyone wouldn't mind throwing a couple more dollars the pacers way.
  20. At the club I use to attend we did the regular kinda games like put a certain number of dog biscuits in a bowl of water (each dog had their own bowl) and first one to eat all their biscuits won except in my case, my dog was disqualified for getting the sh!ts and flipping the bowl over with his foot so that he could just eat them off the ground - now that is just intelligent to me - they were just jealous that their dogs didn't think of it
  21. Take a deep breath and relax, if you get worried that your dog just isn't getting it they can feel it and then they get confused. I would stop doing you're in you're out and go back to building the value of being in the crate. Take each step slowly, do stage one for say a week, remember her video is not viewed in 'real time' and the learner dog she uses I'm sure would have very full on previous leanring history.
  22. hmmm, I think my Froggy would be a great parkour partner for him, she has always naturally wanted to be on top of anything high or walk on any raised surface and run over brick fences while we are out walking, and if there's a break in the fence she just leaps from where she's at to the next bit. Her love for this sort of things is why I started her in agility. I never let her jump off it gets too high, I lift her down and if whatever she is walking on has a slope down that's just a bonus as it is an opportunity for her to work on contacts. Still at 7 and a half years old she is an absolute nightmare to keep in the yard, so she is penned anytime I leave the house.
  23. what a difficult situation to be in. Be strong.
  24. Ours only get up when they hear us get up, Chevy gets out of his bed and talks to us - if we come out of our bedroom at different times he says good morning to each of us and then they all go have a big stretch then find a nice sunny spot outside to catch the morning sun.
