It was great to see you and Kenzie back in the ring Ness Though I didn't get a chance to watch you, as I was a bit busy with the 3 sheppies in two rally classes!! My news is that with 3 dogs competing, Seven & Tasha in rally excellent and Jim in rally novice, my "team" managed 6 passes, 3 titles, 2 rally excellent and one rally novice with 2, 1st placings & 3, 2nd placings To top it off, Seven won State Rally Champion Excellent (A) and her litter sister, Neisha, won State Rally Champion Advance (A) WELL DONE Xena98 and to the lovely ladies from WA........... Ptolomy & Bedazzledx2 ........... It was lovely to see Bedazzledx2 again after meeting her & Brookie when they came down to Tassie a few years ago!!

last night I was out show training my Gsd boy, Jim, who has 2 legs of his rally novice and training well for advance & excellent. He is running well in front of me and the only thing he is struggling with is to "go round" the ring consistantly. So I gave him the word "round" and what did he do...........................................span round alongside me My friend (his breeder) once she stopped laughing, asked me what command am I using for our 180 pivots (advance/excellent).......... do'h........................ Me thinks "go on" maybe a better option

That appears to be the case in NSW. In Vic its random. biker girl if your dog has an issue you can always swap on the day with the other exhibitors . You may want to check with the Steward and/or Judge before you try this. Thanks guys It was a question that was thought of the other night while discussing ring craft with some newbies.

not wanting to get too OT, but yes, you most certainly want a name that doesn't embarass you.................friends named their staffy...........Woof, cool name until Woof got out one day and the two owners are running up and down the street calling out........"Woof, Woof, Woof"................................... -
Those Lassie movies scarred me for life, I still cry and I'm 45!! Can't and won't watch them or others that were mentioned as I know I will sob my heart out Benji hasn't been mentioned and there are several films with him, also the Littlest Hobo

LisaCC, you will find that quite a few of us on this forum not only "do" showing and obedience but retrieving, agility, dancing with dogs, heel work to music, herding and even sledding with their "show dogs" For me I do showing, obedience and sometimes a bit of agility and I find that even though I don't use different collars and leads, for my dogs it's the different way I hold the leash both on the dog and in my hand. When I show the leash is in my left hand and I hold it up about chest height and quite forward................I show Gsds........... when I do obedience though the leash is still in my left hand, my left hand is placed on my left hip and that's where is stays unless I am giving hand commands. Hope that helps

oh pooh though the rules do say "pause" before heeling off. I had to do a retry on that station, was watching my "plus one" too closely and almost missed the drop, I got the halt in and just before I was about to move off, realised that I had forgotten the drop, so a quick "retry" do it again
-
WELL DONE to Xena98 the dreaded not seeing a station and walking past it very easy done That's one of the challanges of rally, reading the stations and not listening for the judges directions WELL DONE to Bully too onwards to advance now And well done to everyone else who had wonderful results with their dogs over the past weekend. Hopefully after the Blue Lake weekend of rally, there will be a few dogs ready for excellent rally at the first trial of next year
