  1. Well done to you Barb & your gorgeous Kirra!!!!!!!!!!! Are you coming up to Launie in April under Jane & Neville from Adelaide??????
  2. A few for me................ firstly scoring 194 in novice under a local judge who apparently has never given over 190 in novice before here in Tassie when we poped over to Adelaide for some trials. One of those trials, my girl passed open & her son passed Ccd, both with first placings At the next trial in Adelaide qualifying 191 & first & Cdx under a Gsd judge, who is retiring at the end of this year, who was my very first judge 25years ago with my first trialling dog ;) And at our last trial of the year I had Seven pass open (again ) & this time her daughter passed Ccd, again both with first placings ;) Lastly when I was in Adelaide, meeting Ness & her gorgeous furbabies & watching the boy I bred & her pup playing hard. And catching up with all those Adelaide triallers who I have known for a long time
  3. The two of them did have a lovely time didn't they??????? You will certainly be seeing a bit more of us once Seven has put it all together for UD & I even may bring Tasha over too, for novice (Seven's daughter)
  4. OK, my time for a brag now........ We "poped" over to Adelaide 2 weeks ago for a trialling holiday (as Tassie only has about 12 obedience trials a year) I thought we could do 4 trials in 3 days. Having passed one leg of our open in early August at Ulverstone, we only needed 2 from 4. And my girl did not let me down.............first open trial in Adelaide a score of 187 & first place Second trial, sitting on 185, Seven creeped forward enough on her drop stay to zero her However she left the afternoon for her best, with a 191 and & first place (again ) to give her CDX title!!!!!!!!! Hello to Ness, caught with her & her gorgeous furbabies. Good luck with you UD Ness. So now onto UD.................
  5. Two oldies, but goodies............. you can't teach an old dog and you can't combine showing & obedience/tracking/agility
  6. I have a small brag to add........................... Saturday we had a champ show where we did very well (to say the least) best of breed from 13 other Gsds. Then went on to Intermediate in show! Sunday we had a double obedience trial where we had Pat Hallam for Novice in the morning & qualified with a score of 196 & 1st place Then in the arfvo, had David Scrimshaw, again for novice, where we qualfied once again with a score of 187 & 1st place........again Our next obedience trial not till mid May
  7. Hey BC, I may even come over for Easter for the shows & trials at Mt Gambier..................all depends on the almighty $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Five champ shows & a couple of ob trials, can't go wrong with that
  8. Hi Ness......I'm pretty sure the list had Southern as a AM/PM on the Sat with SAODC being Sun. That's how I read it though
  9. Hey there SA dolers I am thinking of coming over for a couple of weeks this year with one (possibly two) of my gsds to do a "heap" of trials in a couple of days, as Tassie only has 12 over the whole year. I have already looked at Saca's web page & downloaded the entire years worth of competion & looking at late Sept for the Gawler double & Southern double plus SAODC. That makes five trials in 3 days. Does anyone know of any "extra" trials that may be happening around that time, that would be worth entering. Accom is no issue............my parents still live in Adelaide
  10. Hey there, I'm not sure whether to place this here or in puppy. We have a 15 wk old Gsd pup that goes to his new home Dec15th & the poor boy is really suffering from motion sickness. This is a first for us as all our other dogs have never had a problem...... Anywho, has anyone tried either mints or peppermints for motion sickness in pups to help settle their tummies? Even very short trips in the car sets him off with the dribbles/bubbles.
  11. Good luck & remember to breathe & to have fun too Gawler & district used to be my club until we moved down here! Who is your judge for CCD?
  12. hugs to you Tilly Now I remember why I don't view this forum too often................bloody tears.............. I was just thinking of my old girl Tia, who passed over in Feb. Crap, it still hurts
  13. OMG TASMANIA WON.................................. WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP :D Not bad for a team that only gets to compete regulary in Tassie for about 12 trials a year
  14. :D "Big, happy smoochers" is certainy how one would describe such lovely furkids
  15. Thanks SM Tia was special. Like all our furkids She didn't win any BIGs but she was mine & I am so lucky to have her great gran daughter to follow the line & continue her legacy
  16. To my Tassie show friends, Tia aka A/C Quovadis Fond Memories ET CDX ADX JD Was taken suddenly last night with a stroke No more nudges in inapropraite places (front or back) it didnt matter to Tia when she wanted to say "Hi" No more whooshy whooshy tail when she was strutting her stuff in the show ring. Even though Tia was offically retired from the show ring, we still competed in the neuter class. Tia thought that the show had to stop for HER. As all our dogs do, Tia helped me through a difficult time several years ago, luckily enough we both were there for her, to help guide her over the rainbow bridge
  17. Yes feeding offal to dogs is illegal down here in Tassie I am not quite sure how "they" are suppose to police this law, especially when you can buy fresh offal from the s/markets!!!!!!!!! Apparently it is going to stop the spread of hydatid worms/cysts from spreading. But if you know anything about food handling saftey, all animals are inspected after slaughter for human consumption. After all we are talking Tassie bureaucrats................................ about 20yrs behind everyone else
  18. Yep, ours LURV it! We DID have a bunnie population problem at our place. Then OH did too good of a job with the rifle. Now he has to go shooting at friends places, to keep the supply of fresh bunny up to our four. OH just guts the bunnies, to get rid of any nasties & gives the whole bunnie to the dogs. Fur, head, the lot. The dogs are always looking for more.............. It's great for the dogs, they think "they" have made the kill & shake the carcess & get blood on their paws & have a wonderful tome crunching the bunny
  19. I hang up my furkids ribbons with biased tape, pinned up, then using pins to hang up the ribbons. The best idea for your "best" win ribbons that I have seen was a picture of your dog mounted in the frame with the appropriate ribbon. Very proffesional.
  20. I've been feeding a raw diet now for over 11 yrs & my furkids are doing really well. So much so that they only see our vet once a year for their vaccs. The other day I rang my vet to make an appointment (for an ET health check) I made the appointment with the nurse AND 5 mins latter my vet actually rang back to see what the problem with "his boy" was :D I took that as a compliment
  21. No unfortunately. ;) I will be working that day ;) We will be at Launceston on the Sunday after the royal, purchance you maybe there?
  22. Who would like me to bring my "world famous" fudge............................ Hands up ;)
  23. Hi Australdi the ET is being held at the s/grounds
