  1. Good luck to all that are exhibiting both obedience & showing
  2. I like the way you said "and then was the show at Westbury" Maybe we should stick to the performance side of our doggies, rather than "someone's" opinion of what a breed "should" look like ;)
  3. So.....How'd ya go? Wish I could have been there, working ;) Trials far apart? Tell me about it! I'm working, working, GSDCT (April) got cancelled (last I heard), then I'm working again! (going to try and get the weekend off for Ulverstone). I might get to one some time this year but with the few there are...... Maybe you and I should start up a North South club BG, we could host a trial every other weekend, while we're at it why not throw in a few more ET's and tracking trials too Have a look at the brags thread Brigidstarr :D
  4. I have my "spies" even from all the way down here
  5. Xena, I think that is Carol??? Not sure of her surname.......
  6. Yes I have heard that you had a really good night Xena Congrats I have a little brag from our first trial of the year.................... Tasha passed her second leg of open with a acore of 187, unfornately it did get quite warm in Launie today & Tash found the pm trial abit warmer & missed her sit of the COP, however I was reaaly pleased with her work considering I had been away for two weeks before the trial. AND Seven in the am trial only missed ONE article in UD, very pleased with how she put it together The best news, is that Seven in the pm trial PASSED her first leg of UD with a score 178, missed a couple of sits on her articles & general positioning on the heelwork ;) Not a bad start to the trialling year even if I do say so myself :D
  7. Thanks Bx2 it is long time between drinks "down here" It is a double, most of our trials are, so going to Hobart for a double isn't too bad! Unfortunatley there is only about 14 trals all year too, so keeping the girls consistant is hard going.
  8. Finally, at last the first obedience trials of Tassie's trialling year is on Sunday Sooo looking forward to it ;) Seven is in UD & training very consistantly, fingers crossed for our first pass & Tasha is looking for her last two legs of Cdx Let's hope it's a good day for everyone ;)
  9. Slightly OT however, SP noise legs You shoulod proud of pins like those
  10. I am looking forward to Acteon's open debut & the lovely Roxy (who I am still to meet with her new owner) in Ccd? We are holding a mock novice rally-o trial too, after the obedience has finished, hope you will hang around for it
  11. This morning I had set up a practice range of about 40 tennis balls cut in half for a group of learner & "P"s motorbike riders to practice their slow speed riding (U-turns etc). What's that got to do with dogs I hear you ask? Just after setting up the area, a lady came around the corner walking her two border collies. The two BCs thought it was Xmas, their eyes lit up & made a beeline for the balls It was like they had won tatts lotto, with all those balls on the ground As most of us are dog owners, we could see the funny side, watching this lady trying to put the balls back where her BCs had "stolen" them from & at the same time trying to convince the BCs NOT to take any others, while she was laughing at the same time too
  12. Thank you everyone for your replies :D 3 We are having our club meeting tommorrow night & hope to direct our young member's Gran to this thread to show him the support that you all have shown ;)
  13. ;) OMG you never know who is on DOL You'd be able to fit a few staffies on the first prize too
  14. Yeah I know & agree Showdog however I am oldfashioned in manners & believe in respect, so it just irks me that supposably mature adults can't act the same. In retospect, yes we should have had an adult ''escort'' him around on the first day so today our president did go with him & "pave the way" for him
  15. This weekend here in NW Tassie, Ulverstone KC had their annual double show on the banks of the Leven River. Beautiful weather (about 23 & sunny both days) lovely judges, two ladies from NZ, gorgeous dogs........congratulations to those who did well whether in their breed, group or in show However, as with most dog shows there is always one or two indivduals who have to bring down others around them :D :p One of our youngest members (who is all of 13) was going around Saturday selling raffle tickets and as this is only his second time at doing this & shy too, was not feeling the most confident at approaching strangers ;) Gets told by some exhibitors to "rack off & go sell his tickets else where & leave them alone" What the #*#* ...........his is a kid for goodness sake, if you don't want a raffle ticket don't buy one but don't tell a kid to "rack off" So much for encouraging our future showers/breeders & general dog lovers Vent over
  16. pointer/cattle dog We have a pointer/kelpie, that looks so similar to this little one
  17. We took in a an oldie from friends who had to move interstate quickly & relocating their 11yr old border colliex with them wasn't an option After abit of a chat OH & I said we would take Jack on (we have two acres & then 3other dogs) knowing that we could give him a loving final home :D He settled in well, enjoyed a diet of raw meaty bones, with the occasional fresh wallaby & the company of other canines, which he had never had. He even became the unoffical uncle to our first Gsd litter Dear Jack quietly died in his sleep on Good Friday last year after almost a year with us
  18. Good luck to everyone who is going to be there and stay cool I was hoping to make a surprise visit to the trial as my OH & I have been visiting relies in Adelaide for the last 10 days, however choosen to take the two days to ride to Melb to catch the ferry back home ;) Fingers crossed I MAY come over latter in the year for some trials
  19. Well done Tassie and of course the gorgeous Kirra...........here's to next year My little brag is we had a first mock rally-O trial in Launceston on Sunday & 24 teams were entered ;) 20 in Novice A and four in Novice B Congratulations to Lisa & Obie, who up to that afternoon didn't even know what rally-O was, they place first with a score of 99/100. My Friend Kelly & her Wei finished second with a equal score of 99 too however Lisa had the faster run My two Gsd girls, once again made me proud with winning 1st & 2nd in Novice B on equal scores of 99, however Seven beat her daughter Tasha on having the faster run. Uvlerstone Kennel Club were well represented with a couple of very newbies to the rally-O ring with Cindy & her PomX Sammi scoring 85 and young Mac (13yr old) and his equally as young Lab (18months old) Sammi with a score of 76!!!!
  20. I knew of a JRT who loved.....................frozen peas
  21. Oh btw I forgot to mention too that my hubby had both Tasha & Seven certified as Delta Companion Dogs, to be able to visit nursing homes etc
  22. Well I cerainly can not complain in regards to how well we have done Seven acheived her Aust champion at the start of the year, with best exhibit in group & aust bred in show, at the same show, just to add the "cherry on top" and is "oh so close" to her first leg of Ud. Tasha passed her Ccd, Cd & has one leg to her Cdx Not bad considering we only have about 20 trials down here in Tassie, IF you are prepared to travel the state. Here's to 2010
  23. I think that is abit of understatment Brigidstarr ........I saw your big grin It's a great feeling ;) Now for open
  24. Well I have heard a rumor .................. even all the way down here That Angelsun maybe in Adelaide to weave her magic on you. Just speak to Rae Hedger Ness
  25. Hey ZZ, I can help you out just let me know which trial you are wanting to do & I can look it up in my canine gazette (journel) Just use the same form/details as you would for home, and as you are a member of SA Dogs you are able to compete natiionally
