Beautiful photos! Love the latest one with the aloe

That's what I liked about it too KA - no expensive equipment was required and it seems to go through step by step, in fairly plain language, how to achieve the desired results.

I read about this little book in a photo magazine last week and thought it looked interesting and useful: http://www.magbooks.com/magazine/books-and-directories/photography-books/50-photo-projects I thought I might buy it to work through for 52 weeks project 2013 :)

I always love your photos Pixie_meg Annie, glad to hear that Cowboy is on the mend. Poor old boy! Love the pic in front of Luna Park.

Week 20 - I wouldn't want to live in a world without books

Maybe I just need to learn how to use the wide angle... My results so far have been ordinary. I've heard that it's not brilliant for photographing groups of people because of the distortion on the outsides of the frame?

Argh, now I'm really confused . Aside from lusting after a bigger lens, I also need a smaller one. I'm finding that the 50mm is a bit tricky when I'm trying to use it indoors in small spaces. Having read the other thread about the Sigma 17-70mm, and now the 30mm talked about here, which one would be better? I already have the Nikkor 70-300mm, the Tokina wide angle 12-24mm, and the Tamron 90mm macro. And the Nikkor 50mm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Yes, way way too many. I have seen some lovely ones, but the badly overdone ones have completely put me off.

I can't stand HDR but love the vintage styles with muted tones :)

Wow . Just a bit outside my budget
-
Yes, doing lots of googling  . Was just hoping someone here would have personal experience.

A Nikon D7000. I'm doing a bit of sports photography (football) and am currently using my 70-300mm Nikkor lens. Wondered if maybe this Sigma would be better.

Thanks Kja. I saw the 150-500mm recommended on a forum and it's not too expensive. Has anyone here used this lens or know much about it?
-
Hi all, Can anyone tell me what Sigma lens are like? Is the quality OK? Thanks! Larissa

I know - how weeny is she? She went off to her new home today and we're missing her dreadfully

They are all beautiful pics CC. The course was useless so I tried not to worry too much about what the instructor had to say I love the second edit of your beach photo best :)
-
What lens did you get? I'm quite intrigued by the background - where are you? You are coming up a touch yellow on my monitor, but I really like the composition. Thanks Huga :) . I'm in one of our very old sheds. The lens is the Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro. I've only used it a couple of times but really like it. I took it to a one day macro photography course a few weeks ago only to have the instructor go on and on about how crappy Tamron lens are . Perhaps my other lens are even crappier as I find my shots are sharpest with this macro. I've just put up some new puppy pics taken today, all using the same Tamron lens. Love but am also kinda of freaked out by your Marge pic

New photos added today. I particularly love the sequence with my husband, especially the shot where he's looking down at the pup and she's looking up at him :)
-
Argh, frustrated today. For once I had a definite idea in my head as to how I wanted my weekly photo to look. The end result is nothing like that . Posting one day early as unable to take pics tomorrow. C&C welcome :) Week 19 (taken with the new macro lens)

Beanie back in 2007

I know, how lucky am I that I get to play with dogs each day, especially puppies :D . My pugs name is Beanie (Mr Bean) and he has very odd eyes - one bulges out a lot more than the other, and kinda stares off to the side
