  1. Thanks everyone! Dandybrush, sadly I had a bit of a problem with my computer, or rather a portable hard drive I bought, a few months ago and lost almost all my photos. But you can see our other girls here: http://www.bramere.com/Our_mares.html :)
  2. Snook, my baby colt is just out of sight in that pic but you can see him sneaking in here making baby faces at Delante
  3. Thanks everyone :) . We breed Andalusians and she's a five year old pure Spanish mare. She is in foal to my young stallion who is being leased by a breeder in Queensland. We ended up doing a swap - the Qld breeder is keeping my boy as we have no use for him here, and in return we get this mare and the foal she is carrying (plus we've retained some future breedings to our stallion). We're very happy with her and are looking forward to her baby arriving in early October :D Kathy, she may be shown but will primarily be used for breeding. She isn't broken in.
  4. Meet Delante, our new mare. She arrived down from Queensland today. Poor girl has been on and off the truck since Monday so is a bit tucked up. And this is her meeting her aunt, our old girl Darnela:
  5. Not sure who you spoke with Iggy Mum but they must not have understood that it was a COLLAR ASSESSMENT. You don't sign a transfer of ownership for that, but your dog does need to be desexed and have a current C5 vaccination. When you call back, just make sure they understand it's a collar assessment. If you call today you'll get Caitlin.
  6. If you've phoned GAP, then the information you have been given is correct. We no longer do one off assessments but require the dog to stay with us for a week (this can range from 5 to 7 days, depending on when and how the owner wants to collect their dog). The fee is $150 which includes the boarding, staff time and the collar. I'm currently off work but when I was last in the office, we were fully booked up until September. We bring around 15 new dogs into the Program each week and simply can't take any more than that at present. We can certainly let you know if we have a cancellation prior and bring your dog in earlier. You don't "sign the dog over" to us - the dog is yours and remains that way. You do have to sign a contract when you get him back with his collar because that is what the law requires (to go muzzle free the legislation states that the dog must be assessed by, and adopted under contract to, the Greyhound Adoption Program). If you have further queries specific to the assessment process, it's best you phone GAP and talk to Melanie :)
  7. Huga - where did you get those teeth??
  8. Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm still off work but starting to feel better. Week 25 - Ours! (our offer for the land has been accepted - yaay!!)
  9. Lol! I work in Seymour but live between Kyneton and Bendigo :)
  10. Cheating and adding an extra pic this week - for you MnDM! Taken just after the selfie but this time looking back across the creek to our property.
  11. Thanks heaps MnDM! I took that pic late this afternoon in the paddock next to our place. It's currently for sale and we're hoping to be able to buy it :). We're in Redesdale - where are you? You're always welcome down to let the dogs have a run. Do you reckon the bush in the right of the pic is distracting? I used my wide angle lens for just the second time to take this.
  12. It has been a dreadful week . Week 23 - Momentarily broken
  13. RIP old boy. It's always so terrible when they go . We're all very sorry for your loss Annie.
  14. Only fairly lightly edited in Lightroom. Lots more pics at www.flickr.com/photos/bramerespanishhorses :)
  15. From what I understand a lot of what you read about the focus issues with this camera are actually user issues. I've only had mine since March. I mostly use the Nikkor 50mm on it but also use the 70-300mm, and a Sigma 90mm macro. My remote is a non genuine wireless one. I've got two, both different brands but both for Nikon, and both work perfectly. I got them for about $8 from ebay and would be completely lost without them. Here is a pic I took yesterday - it seems sharp enough (and in focus) to me :)
  16. Yeah, parents got the D7000 too :) . There are so many more focus points than on the D80 which makes it a little more demanding to get right. But you can reduce the number you use, and yes, it does have auto focus. If you don't like to shoot in manual it has many more pre-set options than the D80 (autumn colour, pet portrait, night portrait etc). I haven't used any of these so am not sure what they are like.
  17. Thank you so much for the comments everyone - it means a lot to me. LindaK, I remembered your advice today when photographing some trees in an old cemetery. I was standing up taking them when it popped into my head about getting down low. The resulting shot was much better so thank you :D
  18. I went from the D80 to the D7000 in March :D . I still have my old camera as I'm a bit sentimental, but I haven't used it since getting the D7000 and have now lent it to a friend to use. I found the D7000 a big step up for me from the D80. While most of the buttons are in the same spot, there are a whole lot more. And I've found the focus a bit tricky. But I absolutely love the camera and can't see myself outgrowing it any time soon. I have the 50mm 1.4 which I use all the time... it basically lives on my camera. When I got the D7000 I bought the body only as I kept all my lenses knowing they'd fit the new camera. My parents have always been Canon users and since playing around with my new Nikon, they went and got one too :) .
  19. Thanks :) . It was the most beautiful morning... I got distracted and was a little late to work
  20. Hi all, I took these pics on my way to work on Wednesday. They are not cropped at all and are only lightly edited. Feedback would be most welcome :) - Thanks! Think maybe the tree to the right is too distracting in this one??
  21. Thanks Huga... I'm now a bit confused about what to do. The reviews I've read rave about the 800 and say it's better than the 900 (for a few reasons, one of which it is lighter, which will be better on my D7000).
