Not Sure If I've Already Mentioned This Image Editor
gapvic replied to persephone's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I don't have PS but I do have Lightroom. I was wandering around the internet this morning looking for something I could use to start to learn layers, and came across Paint.net. Has anyone had a go with it? I've downloaded (it's free) but have not started to use it yet. -
Thanks Tlc and Kja - great help :) . I don't particularly want to go to Mac so I think what you're suggesting Kja is the way to go. I'm wondering about a laptop.... I don't have a heap of room for a desk for a second PC, and if I replace the current PC with a new one then I'm back to square one with not being able to edit pics when I want as OH is using the machine.

Hi all, I need to get a new computer of some sort. It will be used just for editing photos and internet, nothing more. My current PC is 1000 years old and so so slow, it's just driving me mental. And my husband is on it most of the time for his work so I don't have a lot of access to it anyway. I've no idea what direction to go in so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I need to be able to get Lightroom off this PC and onto the new one, and I'd also like to get Photoshop if I can afford to. I've never used Mac products but am willing to have a go if this is the best option. Thanks!! Larissa

Purebred Rough Coated Jr Needing Home

Thanks Wobbly. Our boy wouldn't be suitable... I'm not sure a terrier breed would suit an autistic child, as a general rule, and personally thought the suggestion of a staffy sounded great :) -

Thanks everyone, she's very sweet. Can't wait for her baby in October :D

Thanks Kja I'll have a look at that. Shifting the pics off my computer onto the portable hard drive was my somewhat retarded version of backing up . Now I know that I should actually just copy them rather than cut them. I'm not too upset as I had put my favourite ones into the Blurb book.

I have two remote triggers for my Nikon cameras that I bought off ebay. Both cost around $8 from memory and both work perfectly :D . I'm sure you'd be able to buy the same for the Canon.

No, sadly. I'd shifted all my photos onto a portable hard drive and it crashed. Took it to the computer place but they can't recover the pics. Thankfully I've been making a Blurb book so all my favourite pics had been put into that.

I got mine off ebay for the fabulous price of $180 :D http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320914165631?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1587wt_1185

After struggling with a crappy tripod for months, I recently bought a lovely brand new one. My new toy is a Slik PRO 700DX and it's fabulous! Not light, but after reading horror stories about tripods blowing over in a gust of wind I opted for a heavier brand. I'm very happy :D

Thanks Gapvic, I noticed you had one in some other threads. Do you have a link to some photos you have taken with it? I guess the tax just depends on whether customs picks it up but I'd feel better factoring it in just in case. Did you find their service good? What lenses do you use? My pics are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bramerespanishhorses/sets/ Almost all were taken with the D7000 :) The lenses I have are: Nikkor 50mm f1.4 Nikkor 70-300mm f4.5 Tokina 12-24mm f4 Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro

Lollipup, I got the Nikon D7000 in March and just love it. I was using the D80 prior. I bought mine from DWI and although the order was over $1000, I didn't pay any GST etc.

Hi all, We have a nine month old purebred rough coated JR needing a home. He is desexed, microchipped, C5 etc etc. He's an active, playful dog and he seems to get along well with other dogs. Not tested with cats. Can be a bit shy at first. If anyone has a suitable home for him please yell out. There is no adoption fee for the right home. Email [email protected]. He is located in Victoria. Larissa Manager, Greyhound Adoption Program

You have to install it, but it's not hard to do :) . There are so many great free presets - just go mad downloading, play around with them, then delete the ones you don't like. I think Pretty Presets have a sale on at present.

Great pics CC and it looks like a lovely setting!
