Hi all, Thought I'd share some of the pics of the jetty at Coffs Harbour I took when up there recently. I was really pleased with how they turned out :-)! Larissa The rest of the photos of the trip are here for anyone interested: My link

Lifesize Greyhound Statue Wanted - Any Ideas?
gapvic replied to gapvic's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thanks, I'm from GAP :) Thanks also for the suggestion of having one custom made for us. I did check out a couple of artists websites and think sadly the cost would be well beyond us. But I did just find a nice marble one here! http://www.lastingimpressions.com.au/statues-busts/ -

Lifesize Greyhound Statue Wanted - Any Ideas?

Whippet sized would be ok too although we'd prefer a big one :) -
Hi all, One month ago we lost our beloved office greyhound. He is now buried near our office with another much loved greyhound. We are looking to buy a statue to put over their grave and I've googled high and low to no avail. There were some that were ok but they were located in the US and shipping would be prohibitive. Has anyone got any suggestions as to where we could source something appropriate? Many thanks! Larissa

Photographic Equipment As Carry On Baggage On Planes
gapvic replied to gapvic's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Thanks guys, will check with the airlines. We tend to travel light, and we are only staying in two locations - Brisbane one night then Coffs Harbour the rest, and we have an apartment there with washing machine and dryer so I can wash our clothes. -

Thanks guys :) . I think I'm too scared to risk it with the big tripod - I've got a small cheap one that will do that I can fit in my luggage. Will do as you suggest Ripley and carry the lens in my pockets etc! Cassie, I've never had my carry on luggage weighed either until the last time I flew to Tassie where there were staff down near where you board weighing everything. I was over so had to wear quite a lot of extra clothing onto the plane  -

LOL I have to take my clothes as well so my little carry on suitcase won't have any room for camera equipment. I've checked the airlines websites and they are quite vague about things like tripods but you can take a musical instrument?? My camera bag is about the same size as the carry on suitcase so too large to qualify as a handbag etc. Hopefully the tripod can be made to go smaller than I think :) -

Hi all, I'm off to northern NSW next week for nine days and I'd like to take as much of my camera stuff as possible lol. Stupidly I've only booked for carry on luggage. We fly up with Qantas and back with Virgin. Has anyone got any tips as to how you can carry on your camera etc without having to pack it in your bag? And tripod?? My tripod is large but I'd hate to go without it :-(. Any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Larissa -
Thanks guys. No fog or smoke around, and it was only the one pic - the photos I took either side of this one don't show it. And off topic, but here are another I took last night in the dark :) . I'm going to try doing this one again - had the exposure too long and the stars are little blurry trails. Will have to run around faster to get the trees lit up
-
ps I used a torch to light up the tree and I was moving it around (you can see a bit I got wrong over on the right of the pic) - could this have somehow caused the flare?
-
I took this last night and was surprised by the white streak on the left - I didn't see anything like it in the sky when I took the shot. Am assuming that maybe it's something weird that happened inside my camera? Can anyone tell me what it is or what I did wrong? Took another few shots of the same tree and no streak. Settings 30 sec f4.5 iso 100 15mm

Would love to have a go at once a month.

 yes, she does. She looks completely different to her siblings.

An update on little Chi who is now three months old :) . She is doing quite well all things considered. She appears to have no issues with her eyesight and has not had any seizures so far. She moves a bit oddly (in particular her right hind leg) and learns much more slowly than her siblings. She tends to be quite frightened of people and other dogs but is comfortable with those she knows. She is very fussy about her food but is more inclined to eat if the food is warm rather than cold (except for her own poo which she loves to eat given half a chance ) . House training is so far proving impossible. She is half the size of her siblings (the boys are now around 14kg, the girls 12kg, and Chi is 7kg). She is a dear little thing and we are so pleased our vet advised to just see how she goes. Hopefully she will continue on without any major health issues - the mental problems we can hopefully deal with. Some photos taken yesterday: And with her brother, India

I'm very sorry to say I'm the same - I just have so much I'm trying to keep on top of at the moment, and I couldn't find the creative energy to go try to take nice photos. I'm very sorry. I'd love to have another go next year as I thought it was a great project and liked the challenge of trying to do things I wouldn't normally do.

I've got nothing . May I be more than a day late?
-
I think my pics are pretty poxy - too macro and not enough abstract  . Everyone else's are great

Here you go WoofnHoof, a link to Majestic Spanish Horses who currently have the only buckskin and double dilute PRE stallions in Australia: http://www.freewebs.com/majesticspanishhorses/

Crits'n'Bits, the black one is a Friesian cross gelding :) Kirislin, we've bay, black, chestnut, buckskin and even a double dilute here in Australia now, although grey is still by far the most common both here and in Spain. Thanks guys!
