  1. But I do badly now want the D800 :) . Where did you buy yours?
  2. I don't know , I think I'm exposing correctly?? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm also having trouble with the focus points - I tend to use just one, and move it around depending on the photo, but sometimes the camera refuses to use the focal point I've set and focuses on something else instead.
  3. Huga, is this the D800 or D800E? And have you used any software to reduce noise in the first pic? I've always heard that Nikons are supposed to be good for not a lot of noise at high ISO but I find anything above iso 400 on my D7000 and there is too much noise
  4. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!!!! Gorgeous Huga!
  5. The second photo was from a workshop I did today with a guy called Tony Ryan on artistic nudes. There are more photos from today here (a warning, the model is naked )
  6. LOL @ CC! If anyone is offended by the gun just let me know and I'll remove the pic. 14/52 - Jason And one day early... 15/52 - Lady and chair
  7. Is anyone here offended by guns? I've got a rifle in my photo for this week...
  8. I didn't see many of the photos, as I had my eyes to the floor, but with the ones I did see it was the intimacy, and what felt to me like an intrusion into such an incredibly intimate moment between parents and a child, that I found distressing as much as the fact that I was seeing dead or dying children . The club have been great about it and hopefully the photographer will learn something too.
  9. I'm not easily offended and I've not lost a child, but I was deeply upset by the images . I've received an email back from the club and it appears they were as shocked by the content as I was and will provide feedback to the photographer about perhaps being a bit more sensitive in future.
  10. We are searching for two terriers or terrier cross type dogs to join our family. Age and sex unimportant but the right temperament is essential. They must be active, social, outgoing and friendly dogs. If you know of any such dogs looking for homes can you please email me at [email protected]. Many thanks! Kind regards, Larissa
  11. Thanks. I've sent the club an email. I don't mind if they want to show pictures like this, I'd just like to have had the option not to view them .
  12. I think you did a brilliant job trifecta for your first time shooting manual!
  13. I'm feeling a bit upset. I attended our camera club meeting tonight where a judge was critiquing our photos. After the judging, he asked if people would like to see some of his photos. Everyone said yes so his USB was plugged into the laptop and we were shown three slideshows, each going for about ten minutes. The last one was a ten minute slide show of photos of stillborn babies and terminally ill (including dead and dying) children. The only warning we got was that "I make no apologies for the graphic nature of these photos". I was deeply upset by them and wish we had been given the opportunity to leave. They are not the sort of images I'd ever look at, given the choice. Is it appropriate to show this sort of thing at camera club? Should we have been given a warning?
  14. thanks Huga - I've not watched before. Is there any way of seeing the pics larger?
  15. Thanks heaps Trifecta!! Wow, confusing. I can't work out how to change the size - I seem to only have three options now (medium 331x500, square 75x75, square 150x150). Damn you Flickr! Have fun at the course! let us know how you find it. Ah, just worked it out! If anyone else is having the same problem, go to the photo, click on the three dots (actions), click on Download / All sizes, then View all Sizes then proceed as per usual.
  16. Thanks heaps Trifecta!! but what bits do we usually use? I used to just right click on a pic, select something (and now I can't remember what) and paste it into the picture icon here in the reply. But when I paste the whole lot in I get the message above. I've mucked around in the test forum and still can't seem to work it out lol
  17. lol guess that's a big NO. Anyone know how to put flickr pics here now??
  18. Urgh, just went into flickr and it has all changed!! Hope this works: 13/52 - the lady and the cat
