I know the huge variations in desexing prices have been discussed before; I did a bit of a search but didn't really find what i was looking for. The story is this: A friend has adopted 2 female Belgian Sheps- Malinois (one a while ago and one recently) and wants to get them desexed. I have been ringing around some places for him, and I did find a remarkable variation. What I would like is recommendations from anyone here who can find me a good but not ridiculously priced option for him...he is in the western suburbs of Brisbane, but is willing to travel (within reason). Thanx!

Currently have 2 females and one male here (all desexed) - no problems.

You have an Audi and you talk about me going to the dark side? :D :p Seriously, I've been a BMW fan for a long time (we've had a few of them over the years), but I do agree the SLK is an awesome car. OH would seriously love one of them one day (well, that or a 911 Porsche). The only thing that bugs me about the A class is the front wheel drive. BMW has the only car in that class that is rear wheel drive. Plus twin turbo diesel, 150KW & 400NM torque...no contest really. ;)

Currently have a Mercedes A200 Turbo, which fits my three greyhounds comfortably and has been a fun to drive (I like my cars to have a bit of oomph ), but I am about to sell it in favour of a BMW 123d hatch, which will fit my dogs but has the added benefits of being diesel and also being rear wheel drive. I need my cars to be a combination of function and a driver's car. The Merc is a really nice car, but the BMW will have a little more power and torque, plus will be manual (the Merc I have is auto). And it's a BMW...love my Bimmers! I have to wait a couple of months for my new car to be born and delivered to me, but it will be worth the wait! The mercedes: The new car will look a bit like this:

Rip Huntly Stormboy - You Will Live Forever In My Heart
New Age Outlaw replied to Kelly_Louise's topic in Rainbow Bridge
RIP Stormboy. I can totally relate - about 10 years ago I lost my beautiful Apache after 18 wonderful years together. I also relate to the guilt of not spending as much time as I could have with him in the later years. :D I have tried, but I doubt I can ever own another horse, as they all pale in comparison to him...he stole my heart and broke it when he left me. -
On behalf of GAP Qld: Help Needed in Springfield Area: Our foster dog, Harley, and the foster family's dog, Max, escaped Saturday morning around 7am. We've contacted all the vets in the area, the RSPCA and we have people driving around Springfield already - but if you live near there and have time to search for the dogs or happen to see them around, it would be greatly appreciated. Harley is a male brindle greyhound that hasn't been desexed yet. He has on a yellow leather collar on with a GAP tag.

Found - 3 X Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

I haven't heard. Will ask if I see the finder tomorrow. -
The RAAF at Amberley is tendering out some of their dogs (they do this with the ones that are surplus to requirements) and I went there this morning for the viewing (a mate of mine is looking to get a German Shepherd), and what do you think I saw there? A Dutch Shepherd! Apparently they had some there they were trialling as a potential breed to work with (currently they have GSDs and Belgian Malinois). I had never seen one in the flesh before...he was a beautiful looking dog!!!

They are now at the local pound, and apparently are known to the staff there - not the first time they have been in there. -

Thanx! I'll remind him to let RSPCA know too. -

I think they are going to contact the council first thing in the morning (can't keep them at their place more than one night) - just wanted to get the word out there in case someone is looking for them, so I said I would post here just in case. -
Fears Grow For Aussie Star Dog Yogi.........

True enough, though these days racing greyhound sires are limited in the number of matings they are allowed to have per month. -
A friend of mine has just rescued 3 cavies from getting squished on a busy road in the Thornlands area of Brisbane. If you know of anyone missing them please let me know.

Puck's ears are gorgeous!! Maybe it is the new "in thing" to do with your ears (if you're a dog). I am babysitting a greyhound this weekend that does something similar...

Pine Rivers is a notoriously dog unfriendly council.

The permit renewal fee is $172 per year (plus you have to pay the usual rego fees for the dogs).
-
Same price I think...I applied (& paid) for a Domestic Dog permit with BCC but was granted a Breeders Permit instead. So it must be the same price? I think...
-
Congrats lilysmum! I recently applied for my domestic dog permit too. For some reason, they must have looked at the breed of dog I keep (greyhounds) and decided I must have applied for the wrong permit, so they granted me a breeder's permit instead. That's fine by me! I'm certainly not going to ask them to change it.

Poll: Have You Ever Used The Report Button
New Age Outlaw replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
OMG, I totally agree. I have been on some forums (admittedly a long time ago when I first got internet) and those people were psycho! They wished cancer on each other because the other person deigned to disagree about important things like who was a better guitar player in a band etc. I got outta there quick. I think DOL has a pretty good balance of being informative and entertaining. Good onya Troy for not over moderating the forum and sucking the human aspect out of it. Back to the question at hand; I have never reported a post, mainly because a) I am almost impossible to offend personally and b) I am really only a voyeur in the more heated discussions...I don't tend to get involved (mainly because they are generally not about something that I am personally or emotionally invested in). But I do enjoy reading them.
