It has taken me over a week but I finally have a bag of Nutro. The stupid website is useless. I think it must be an automated reply for all requests for stockists. I emailed them back, after they replied that I could look on the website, to tell them that NO, I cant find anything on the site for stockists in my area, and they still havent replied. My local Petbarn has been useless too. They told me that they were getting it in last Wednesday and it has only just been supplied today, the entire two bags of it! Thats it. I bought one so that leaves one bag in the store and they dont get another delivery for at least a month. Luckily a 15kg bag last me about 2months. I told them I would order it when I have got halfway through so they have it for me. Then they tried to charge me full price even though the special didnt finish til close of business tonight. ;) Unfortunately my stock supplies dont seem to be able to source it so I am stuck with Petbarn.

Dr. Chris Brown On 7pm Project Tuesday Night...
SarasMum replied to Fevah's topic in General Dog Discussion
My memory isnt that great at the best of times but I thought that Chesty Bond mentioned that he didnt really have any idea this was happening and how bad it was until he saw it with his own eyes. I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one I think. -

My 9yo son was in tears watching that. Poor kid is so upset. I hope there are lots of other homes in Australia that have the same reaction and take note. -

Have been happy with the Nutro but I am struggling to get it. Petbarn is the only place around here that stocks it and I went to buy some and they only had one bag and it had a very big rip in it, after having a problem once before with dogs getting sick from opened food I wasnt going to risk it. They said they were getting more in the next day so I waited 2 days, went back and nothing. They really have dodgy customer service. My rural stock feeds cant get it in for me either.

I am interested in how it goes Gayle. I have one that likes to bark too and being a GSD it also has that ear piercing top note to it. She barks at the neighbours, at the local magpie that has learnt to taunt her, at anyone that moves past our fence. It gets a tad old after a while. I will listen with interest.

Still thinking of you, if not posting. Lit a candle for you today and still hoping your recovery is going smoothly and relatively painless (hopeful thoughts). -
Council ranger threatens to fine rescuer of lost dogs BY BEN GLOVER 31 Jul, 2010 12:00 AM ONE of Wagga's radio stations may discontinue their lost and found public announcements after heavy-handed action was meted out by council in response to the finding of two dogs. The radio station 2AAA-FM on Thursday helped to have a briefly lost shih-tzu and foxie reunited with their owner but not before a council ranger stepped in, threatening to impose a fine on the finder and imposing $97 in administrative fees to the owner. The two dogs, owned by the family of Jeannie Nicholls, found their way out of their Best Street residence on Thursday morning after a roller door was left open and wandered the streets for a short time before finding their way to the Railway Street house of Amy Sleaman. Ms Sleaman's house was formerly lived in by Ms Nicholls' daughter Alisha, so it was a familiar place for the two dogs to go. Worried about their safety, Ms Sleaman called the dogs into her house and phoned 2AAA FM as well as Star FM to announce her find. She also informed council in case the dogs' owner started their search at the pound. By early afternoon public announcements had been made on both radio stations and a Nicholls family member heard it on Star FM. By the time Ms Nicholls called Ms Sleaman to arrange a pick-up however, the dogs had been removed from her home by a ranger who threatened to fine the good samaritan $500 per dog if she didn't hand them over. "I told him that I wanted to keep hold of the dogs overnight in case the owner showed up," Ms Sleaman said. "But he wouldn't have a bar of it and told me it was illegal to have the dogs here because they weren't mine. "I couldn't believe they would charge me $1000 for trying to do the right thing." Ms Nicholls collected the dogs from council that afternoon and was charged $97 for the privilege -standard charges according to council's manager environment sustainability and regulatory services Mark Gardiner. "There are costs involved in animals that go through the shelter (pound) such as impound fees and maintenance fees," he said. "It's not appropriate that ratepayers pay for animals out roaming." But why take them to the pound when the lady who found them was clearly doing the right thing? "We generally wouldn't leave animals at a private house (other than the owner's)," Mr Gardiner said. "If they escaped again and were run over it wouldn't be a good result for anyone." But is this another example of the letter of the law taken too far in modern society? Operations manager of 2AAA FM Chris Jacobson thinks it leaves a sour taste in the mouth. "The council rangers we've dealt with over the years have always been very good," Mr Jacobson said.

I am so glad that things are improving albeit slowly. I continue to wish you a speedy recovery and really hope that Phoenix helps to mend your broken heart just a little bit. (I must say though, it does feel a bit strange having Jed and Animal Rescue in the same sentence and it being all positive lol) -
How often do you use it atm ie. winter?
-
Sorry to drag this thread back up but I have just purchased a Furminator off Ebay for my GSD. I am just not sure how much to use it though as its pretty cold here atm and I dont want her to freeze with no undercoat. I just want to remove any dead or shedding hair. I managed to get a plastic shopping bag half full (compacted) so I think I will stop there in case I go too far. She absolutey loved it and was sooking for more.

All this Furminator talk got me onto Ebay and I purchased a large one for $15.99 with no postage. It looks to be real too. It is from Vebo pets I think. I just got a shopping bag full of hair in 5 minutes with the normal brush, imagine what I will get with one of those!

Glad all the candles and healing vibes are working. It is fantastic to see you posting again. I look forward to lots more of it.

The poor cat was in so much pain. His ear was almost sliced off and he had slices on his face. They think he was taped down to something and set alight. He tried to make it back home. I had tears watching the poor little thing just sitting there in the cage so doped up his head was just hanging. As for the culprits..................... I dont need a warning....

I think in this case though didnt the victim have to pay the fine?
