  1. That's ok, there was heaps of footage of my two in the first video And we did turn up incredibly late... (stupid work!) P.S. Jules I'll reply to your PM's later tonight or tomorrow :p
  2. Can the public come along and watch? If you're in it GoldiesRgr8 it would be nice for some of us to come support you Plus any other DOLers
  3. The only reason I've taken my pups to puppy preschool is for the socialisation with other pups their age of different sizes/shapes/breeds - generally they don't teach me anything I didn't already know BUT as someone else said for a new puppy owner who has no idea about worming, desexing, correct food, etc (not saying this is you) then they would be quite beneficial.
  4. Thanks but I don't know how to... I might need to buy some special photo paper though and work it out!
  5. Harminee those pics of Zephyr and Hudson that you've done look amazing! I wish I could print them out!
  6. If you are in SA I can recommend someone. What kind of dog is it?
  7. Ohhhh my gosh no I don't mind you playing with my pics at all, THAT is truly stunning! I love it, I would like to frame it it's so beautiful! ;)
  8. Sorry but it's not a case of "hopefully she will learn..." but rather she HAS TO learn what is expected of her in her new home, and you have to be very consistent with what you want from her. You have been given some good advice here. Keep up the training, it will likely take a while but with perseverence she will get there. Good luck!
  9. I hear ya GayleK! Thanks everyone for the responses so far. Seems there is no definitely right or definitely wrong way, just whatever seems to work the best :D
  10. Have started taking Hudson (3.5 month old Saint pup) out for short walks with Zephyr (3 year old Bernese). When my OH comes too, it is easy, as we have one dog each. When I'm walking the two of them by myself though, is it better to have one on each side of me (i.e. one lead in each hand) or both of them on my left? What do others do, and what do you find works best? And why? I used to walk Zephyr and Oakley (previous Saint) at the same time, and would usually have one on each side of me, but now I'm not certain which is the best way to do it. Thanks for any opinions offered
  11. Thanks for your replies I had to go to work yesterday afternoon. My OH got home while I was out and called me at work to say Hudson looked sick, had I noticed anything? I said he had had diarrhoea again but he didn't really look "sick" to me, and he said well he does look sick now! He was mopey and just laying around and not eating anything, usually he is go go go! And he never turns down food. So without me being able to see him in the flesh (I was still at work) my OH decided it was best to take him to the vet, just in case there was something wrong. The vet gave him a thorough examine, and said he didn't have a temperature so that's good. He actually vomited while at the vet. They gave him an injection, something to stop him vomiting and stop the diarrhoea. They said it was probably just a tummy bug and nothing major to worry about. He is on antibiotics for the next few days. This morning he looks back to his old self again! Still slightly runny droppings but not like it was before So possibly these foods I tried him on had nothing to do with it? Not sure, but once he's made a full recovery I will only introduce new things slowly. Thanks again everyone!
  12. I don't have to feed these foods, I just like giving my boys a treat every now and then How would I find out if he has a pancreas problem? Is a trip to the vet in order? I hope it's nothing serious!
  13. Hi Cockerlover Thanks for your reply. What does the yoghurt do?
  14. I had a short thread on here about a week or so ago asking if raw eggs could cause diarrhoea in a pup, and the general consensus was that ANY new food can cause tummy upsets. (Gave Hudson - 3.5month old Saint Bernard - a raw egg as a treat, that night he had diarrhoea, hence why I asked the question) Yesterday I gave him a lamb off-cut instead of his breakfast. Again, that's the first time he's had one and AGAIN...he got diarrhoea from it! (Well I assume it was from that anyway, as he didn't eat anything else other than his kibble which he gets every day.) So do I have a pup with an extra sensitive tummy? Or is this normal for young pups? I have never had this problem before. And if he does have a sensitive tummy, how do I go about introducing things slowly to him? Should I mix a bit of raw egg in with his kibble? Or feed only a small off-cut at first? Or should I not give him these kind of treats at all? Thanks for any advice
  15. Ohhhh wow!!!!!!! ;) That video was really great Jules and BB! Thanks so much for putting it all together, you've done a brilliant job, it looks amazing! What a nice memory we have now to keep from such a great day. :p
  16. LOL yes indeed, fixed it now though!
  17. Errrm it didn't work! Sorry I am not good with this sort of thing... ETA: Nevermind! Sorted now! Thanks Freckles
  18. Gave my boys a raw egg each this morning, and now Hudson (and not Zephyr) has diarrhoea. He is a 15 week old Saint Bernard pup. I wouldn't have thought eggs would do that, but that is the only thing different that he's eaten recently, as far as I'm aware. It was the first time I've given him one. Could this have caused his runny droppings?
  19. Freckles that is great!!! I love it, thankyou so much!!! Now how do I add it into my sig? :D
  20. If someone wants a new project I would LOVE a new siggy! Need to incorporate my new boy in there. Here are some pics I like, choose any to include, at least one of each dog though please :D If at all possible (if I'm not asking too much!) I would like "Zephyr" and "Bernese Mountain Dog" written under his pic, and "Hudson" and "Saint Bernard" written under his (basically like my sig is now.)
  21. :p I'll end up with another dog I think! :D It's going to be great! I already have a Furminator and was quite impressed with the job that does. Then at the Pet Expo a couple weekends ago, (I had Zephyr with me as he was part of the Bernese display) I saw the Mars Coat Kings for sale. The guy saw me looking at them, dog in tow, and invited me over to try one. I started brushing and OH MY GOSH! Couldn't quite believe it! I told him I had a Furminator already but in 5 seconds of brushing I could tell that this was way better. He told me a story of a couple years back at another Pet Expo, he has his Mars Coat King stand and the Furminator crew also had a stand a little distance away. The Furmintor crew were doing demos on peoples' dogs, and everyone thought they were great and were buying them left right and centre. Then people would come to the Mars Coat King stand and this guy would let them try the tool themselves on their own dog. He reckons about 75% of them marched back to the Furminator stand and asked for a refund, so they could buy a Mars Coat King!
  22. Ooooooohh I'm getting mine soon! Hopefully this weekend if it's in, or if not next week! Can't wait!
  23. ***CROSS-POSTED FROM THE "BUY SELL AND SWAP" FORUM*** If anyone wants this they are very welcome to it. I don't feed Eukanuba so have no use for it. We were given the voucher at Puppy Preschool tonight. This is what it says: "Prepared for preschool? Eukanuba's exclusive invitation to puppy preschool participants...But any 3kg Eukanuba Puppy Formula and receive a second 3kg Eukanuba Puppy Formula FREE!" Then you turn it over and have to fill out the back section with: First name Surname Address Australia or NZ Daytime Phone Mobile Email (only if you want to receive communications from P&G and it's affiliates) Pet's Name Breed Male or Female Date of Birth Size at Maturity (tick-a-box) Then it has a spot for the outlet information, which is blank, so I assume whoever you buy it from fills that out, not who I got the voucher from? It says in can be used at any participating pet store or vet clinic stocking Eukanuba in Australia or NZ. Valid til 30/6/08. If anyone can make use of it please speak up! First in best dressed
