  1. Really? Hmm fair enough. This hasn't been my personal experience with breeders I've dealt with so was just relaying my opinions
  2. Why would it stop being printed then? What a shame (Sorry - off topic)
  3. Bloody hell sounds like quite a book!
  4. Has this breeder asked lots of questions of YOU? Was this pup readily available? It wouldn't necessarily mean anything, but I'd always be slightly wary of a breeder with pups readily available - many reputable breeders have long waiting lists and you can wait up to a year or several for the right pup. Not always the case but it CAN BE.
  5. Most of those are large breeds, didn't you say in your original post you wanted a small-medium dog?
  6. Cheers Ness, good idea Just wondering, do we know of an approximate cost at this stage?
  7. Absolutely If they try dodging some of your questions, or are reluctant to answer, look elsewhere Plenty of GOOD breeders out there if you know where to look. Check out The Mastiff Thread and The Newfoundland Thread to see heaps of pics and speak with people who own these breeds :D
  8. Hahaha thanks I got my Bernese Mountain Dog at 17 after a solid eighteen months research and looooooong wait Newfies and Mastiffs are both lovely breeds, can't go wrong with either of them Can't comment much on Chis, have not had anything to do with them (prefer my large breeds!) The main thing with ANY breed of dog, but it is so vitally important with giant breeds, is to go to a reputable breeder who health tests all of their breeding dogs and only breeds from those who pass or are of an acceptable level. Trust me, I've been burned once before and was forced to say goodbye to a seven month old puppy, health testing MUST COME FIRST. Temperament is just as important, as a nasty dog of that size is unbearable. Bear in mind with a giant breed, EVERYTHING costs a lot more - beds, food, vet bills, worming, heart worming, flea treatments, coats, collars, leads, etc. You also need a decent sized car to be able to cart one around. But at the end of the day, they are the best and nothing beats big cuddles from big dogs Once you decide on a breed, some people here may be willing to recommend good breeders to you :D
  9. Good on you, please let us know how she goes. Sending good vibes your way

I am so very very sorry Serena. There are no words that will help but know that you have all of our support. Your tribute to him was something else, very moving. I hope in time your heart can be healed, although without a doubt he will leave a big hole there RIP big fella, be good xx
  12. Ohh he certainly does He'll be spoilt rotten with them I think ;) Plus all of us when he comes to the DOL meets I couldn't stop cuddling him and squishing him and pulling his excess skin I swear he has more skin to grow into than my Saint pup had at the same age!
  13. Off topic - sorry! - but Centitout I met Earl last weekend and he is just divine! ;) Love your other babies too, here's hoping they do really well in the ring for you
  14. Thanks Steve, I meant it tongue-in-cheek because I read your email wrong
  15. On a more serious note, it was very nice to finally meet you and chat to you and your daughter about your dogs and their breed, I love 'em
  16. The Jet Pets puppies look like GSDs to me But I'm no expert, hopefully a GSD owner would be able to tell us one way or the other, I've always thought they were very cute too! Just Googled the Miley thing and apparently "Mate" is a White GSD. Although when I first saw one of the photos of her holding him, he looked a bit Maremma-ish to me and I thought "Ohh good Lord!" Glad he isn't.
  17. In terms of getting the look you want, a Poodle would have to be one of the most versatile breeds surely
  18. Got my email, thankyou very much! Glad I came and read this thread though, because I could have sworn my email said 8th of MARCH and I was about to say "No no you've all got it wrong!" but ahhh I just double checked the email and oops May is correct! Good thing I noticed Say Steve, you don't offer reading courses too do you? ;) ;)
  19. What is he mixed with? I am very sorry to hear of his health problems, really hope it all sorts itself out
  20. I am sorry for your loss Alotanewfs What a story! She certainly sounds like a wonder dog alright! What a grand age for Myra to reach too, that is outstanding, you should be very proud :D She looked beautiful too, hardly any greying. RIP dear girl :D
  21. Well Hudson is more than a bit chuffed to be getting requested by name to join the girls at the next meet :D He'll have to mind his manners til then, and if so his mean cruel human Mum might let him come along :D
  22. Hahaha yeah, Kenzie's personal body guards!
  23. Your girls just have good taste, that's all!
