  1. The only way to make sure your dogs aren't attacked at off leash parks is to not enter them at all. The vast majority of them seem to be frequented by mainly irresponsible owners who have no control over their dogs. You're not being over-protective at all, I'd say just don't go there.
  2. Wow Ker when did you get a Lappie? I am sorry to hear that Pele's been unwell
  3. I thought she did alright in her response actually, she mentioned both rescuing a dog from a shelter AND sourcing a registered and reputable breeder. And she did stress they must be reputable, as there are some who are registered that are not. Not a bad segment all in all, well done ETA: Snap PoppyDog ;)
  4. Hugest hugs and best wishes to you Phillipa, and to Ian also and everyone else who knew Evie. Hope you are coping ok Rest in peace sweet girl, you will be sorely missed ;)
  5. I asked Steve that question, and he advises that Dupree going is probably the best option, as it will remove the antagonist and allow us to focus fixing the issue. Dupree will be gone as of Thursday next week. Awesome thanks for answering my query
  6. Glad the OP has spoken with Steve, you'll only get the greatest advice there Just a thought that popped into my head, and this is a serious question - by getting rid of Dupree out of the house now, is Kuma unintentionally being rewarded for his behaviour? He didn't want Dupree there so he acted out, and now Dupree will be going, so Kuma thinks his actions have worked? Just pondering, I certainly don't understand all the ins and outs of rank drive.
  7. Ohh no How horrible for the poor owners Here's hoping he is returned safely ASAP.
  8. While I agree with the sentiment, comments like this will very likely get the thread deleted. Agreed, no nastiness unless we want this thread to disappear too. We all feel the same way towards the "breeder"
  9. Congrats to all! Lindsay must be over the moon
  10. Wow definitely a freak accident, the poor pup. But sounds like he's doing well, will keep you both in my thoughts. Get well soon Yogi

  12. This is horrible, I would be absolutely FUMING! Hoping the pups are ok
  13. If someone could let me know how many Saints are entered please, I'd be most appreciative
  14. I'm no help with names but gosh she is just beautiful!!! When's her show debut LP?
  15. You weren't looking hard enough! Aww thankyou Jules! :p That makes me proud. Berners are truly the most lovely natured and beautiful dogs! They have it all, looks and temperament. I have said this before, but I have never heard of anyone who DOESN'T like the breed after having met them And I know we all have our preferences, but I challenge anyone to call a Berner ugly!
  16. Sorry to hear that Heather, he is a gorgeous loving dog
  17. Yes! That was him, definitely going towards the bill
  18. Thanks a lot all of you :p I am stoked to have him back and safe and happy again. Words don't even describe the relief, I am over the moon! No further advice other than the precautions we already take. I don't believe there is a specialist on canine bloat unfortunately, not that I have ever heard of anyway.
  19. Well I have some GREAT news, Hudson is home safe and sound! $1150 later mind you...but that's fine they could have added another zero on the end of that and I'd still gladly pay it. Spoke to the vet, he bloated, they xrayed him to make sure his stomach didn't twist, which it didn't, otherwise he would have required surgery, so they anaesthetised him and did a gastric dilation, which is putting the tube down his throat to his stomach. Also he had a big vomit and passed lots of faeces, so no blockages anywhere. This morning he's had an injection and also has some antibiotics for the next few days, both to prevent any bacterial infection. Unsure if these are really necessary to be honest but will follow the vet's instructions. He's quite thirsty now but he's not allowed to drink too much, so I'm keeping an eye on his water intake. Will feed him a small bland meal tonight. Thankyou so much to everyone for their well wishes, advice, PMs, even had a phone call. All your support is much appreciated A couple of photos of my big baby, I sorta love this boy A LOT!!!
